Alrighty.
I realized I never did my write-up, maybe it'll be therapeutic (and I can exit the post-game finally, lol)
Patriots 35 - Chargers 28
The Madden Patriots pulled a 2011 Patriots, building up a huge lead and then crapping all over themselves letting the opposition climb back into it. The Chargers mounted a comeback from down 35-7 at the end of the 3rd quarter, amazingly without the benefit of a single Patriots turnover. I definitely got way too conservative in my playcalling down the stretch, and probably could have stood to kill a little more clock, but really it came down to my secondary not executing.
Tom Brady bounced back from a couple poor showings to post a perfect QB rating, going 9 of 10 for 170 yards and 2 TDs.
Philip Rivers attempted more than four times as many passes as his counterpart, going 25 of 43 for 379 yards and a TD, much of that damage coming in the 2nd half.
Cobie Ross had another huge game, carrying 19 times for 168 yards and 3 scores. The only downside is he tailed off a bit late, leading to a few punts which let the Chargers climb back in.
The Chargers didn't have much success on the ground except in the Red Zone, where Mathews, Rivers, and Tolbert all scored to cap off late drives. Overall though, the Chargers had only 22 yards on 7 carries.
Gronk (3 catches, 73 yards) and Roddy White (3 catched, 58 yards) scored the TDs for the limited Pats' passing attack.
Both Vincent Brown and Antonio Gates were over 100 yards for the Chargers, with Malcom Floyd scoring the TD.
Not much to say about defense in this one, not much was played by either side.

gg dmailman. Despite how it ended (and the lengthy fallout thereof) it was a good game up to that point. You really had me on the ropes in the 4th quarter, I couldn't answer anything you were doing offensively. Thankfully I'd built up a big enough lead to hold you off.
I don't really know what's going on with my defense. After getting carved up on the ground last year and being lights out against the pass, the trend has completely reversed itself this year. I don't think I'm doing anything differently, nor is there much difference in personnel. So I guess it's either people are playing me differently, or just random chance. Definitely something I need to work on though.
