Patriots 35 - Dolpins 17

The New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins in a blizzard to claim their second consecutive division title. This was one of the weirder games I've played in terms of consistency. The Patriots scored on long touchdowns on 3 of their first 4 TOUCHES of the game, and then didn't get another first down until near the end of the game. Meanwhile, the Dolphins had all the momentum and were driving down 21-10 late before surrendering two touchdowns off of turnovers in less than a minute. Then of course Reggie Bush capped the game off with a 100-yard TD run (from the 1 inch line). Just a bizarre game.

Tom Brady was 2 of 5 for 65 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He also eliminated himself from the league leaders in the process.

Newcomer was 10 of 24 for 129 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

Cobie Ross carried 12 times for 157 yards and 2 TDs, though most of that came on runs of 58 and 80 on his first two touches. He didn't do much after that. He did, however, eclipse 2000 yards for the season (on his first carry no less).

Reggie Bush was the leading rusher for the Dolphins, with 6 carries for 116 yards, owing to his 100 yarder.

Aaron Hernandez caught the TD for the Patriots. Welker, White, and Gronk were all catchless.

Daniel Thomas caught the TD for the Phins.

gg fero! It was definitely a weird one, I came out scorching hot and then just fell completely flat (combined with your D stepping up). I really thought you were going to come back and win until those late turnovers. Definitely a closer game than the final score indicated.

The bad news is I lost rookie MLB Darian Wheeler for the playoffs (meaning half my rookie class is now down). I'm going to have to move Mayo back to MLB and put Ninkovich back in the lineup, not something I really want to do.

Matt Hasselbeck and Shane Vereen in Week 17.
schneider starting in net for the canucks, he's from my hometown
He's from my hometown too. Weird.

I'm admittedly not a huge hockey fan, but I do try to watch whenever the Bruins have a national game. Man they're good.

Filthy....the canucks are the biggest group of pussies in sports. Incredibly talented, but they're all bitches everyone of them starts a fight then backs down. 5 of them piled up on thornton today and started bangin on him until chara lucic and horton came flyin over. Lucic came from the bench and cleaned house, but got tossed. Bruins are the best team in the bean right now...best chance to win a title.
Were scheduled for 3pm. Kinda sucks this bruins game is sick....is anyone in here a canucks fan?
we can play tmw

however owns the cardinals....contact me as soon as possible so we can get our game going....pefer playing tonight after the wildcard games (trying to watch).

and whats the rule on 4th downs?
we can play tmw
Id rather play today, I'll prolly miss the beginning of the 3rd period, not a big deal

and whats the rule on 4th downs?
When in doubt, punt.

If you go for it on 4th down in a questionable situation, be prepared to defend the decision in here.
if i have to play anyone in the rain just count that as a win for them smh
I played at least 9 games in the rain in season one.

it was too ugly recievers falling down and shit fumbling the ball smh not for me i like sunny weather

Jets def. Cowboys, 33-10.

I'm not sure where these Jets have been hiding all year. I started a few of my younger players (Moch and Morgan at OLB, specifically), and used the team's defensive playbook for the first time in a number of weeks... but still. Quite the difference.

Cowboys were held to 5 yards on the ground. Romo was picked off 6 times, 2 of them coming on the Cowboys' 1st and 2nd offensive plays. Both of them went for six and both from Cromartie. His price may have just went up thanks to this 4 INT, 2 TD performance.

Those two picks, plus the Jets opening drive put the Jets up 21-0 with the 1st quarter coming to a close. A very tough position to be in that early in the game.

In his first start of the year, Moch had 2 sacks, 1 of them a strip sack. Looks like I found my new OLB. C'ya Pace. On the offensive side of the ball, Powell started at RB and might give Greene some competition this training camp. Powell had just over 100 yards on 20 carries. Greene had 53 himself on half that, so both solid.

The rookie Todd started over Sanchez for the first time this year and did a decent job as a game manager. He sailed a couple passes, but went 7 for 11 with a pretty nice TD pass to Holmes on the opening drive.

Dallas missed Witten big time and looked to their WRs more (thus the 4 INTs from Cromartie). Bennett dropped at least one big one too so you can tell they miss Witten. GG again, Apple.

Whew Ravens over Texans in a VERY close game...my last 2 touchdowns came on 93 and 44 yard TD runs late in the 4th quarter when I was trying to run the clock down lol. The Texans' pass rush was all over me the entire game...despite starting a 73 and 70 OVR DT (unless he's starting a DE there which rates higher). My o-line just wouldn't pick up the corner blitzes!! My pass rush on the other hand was struggling for the most part...even when I sent both OLBs on a blitz during a playaction pass (the best scenario you can hope for on a blitz), I still couldn't get to him.

Speaking of OLB blitzes...I just noticed that Terrell Suggs (one of the best blitzing LBs in the entire game) has ZERO sacks on the season, and trust me I send him on a LOT of blitzes!! I don't know what's up with that...he's rushing the same side as Julius Peppers so I feel like that should open up a lot of holes for him to get to the QB. However, he has 32 tackles and a whopping 25 of them are for a loss lol, so that's not too shabby...I've never seen that many TFL from a CPU player.

And just to throw it out there publicly, I had a perfectly fine lag-free game against Ramesu just now. I'm sure his connection might be faulty at times...but at least we know it's not a consistent thing.

I lost Lardarius Webb for the playoffs :( That's my #2 corner for the 3rd ranked pass defense in the league...so that's a pretty big loss. I decided to take a risk and start Chykie Brown as my #2 corner in his place, even though he has been my #5 CB for the entire season to this point. He's got 90 man coverage and I need my corners to be able to cover man for when I blitz. Of course he's got low awareness, play recognition, and all that good stuff...so I'm gonna see how it plays out in Week 17 and might make changes accordingly if he gives up a lot of big plays. I also lost my rookie TE early in the game, but he's back next week...PHEW! It was on a HARD hit...I was really worried. Especially cause his injury rating is in the 70s I think.

Ravens over Texans 41-28

Yeah I can't believe the Bengals would drop Moch...I assumed that was an auto-drop from the CPU for the draft, but even so...I'd never seen him try to pick him back up or anything. Fastest linebacker in the game with very high tackling and hit power, plus pretty decent block-shedding and pursuit for a player in his 2nd year. He's like the perfect player to user on defense...I usered him for 3 seasons as the Bengals in my other franchise until I traded him away lol. He was a DPOY nominee each time. I guess he's not too shabby as a CPU-controlled pass rusher though lol.

fine by me
Texans ravens could be a first round matchuup
I beat the Texans this year, so I think I'd rather play them. I beat the Steelers in the regular season and postseason last year, and he beat me in the regular season this year.. Don't want to let him complete his revenge. :D

Both Zurezo and Ramesu are damned tough though.

Either way it shakes out, the first round matchups should be great.

Just did the math, Brady would need 24 pass attempts in the finale to qualify for passing leaders. Even against the CPU, I ain't risking that.

All the starters are resting, unless of course Mr. Doom still isn't convinced about Cobie Ross' ROY credentials. :D

Also.. I'm going to be moving at least one receiver in the offseason. There just weren't enough balls to go around this year (Welker's only caught 18!). Gronk and Welker are the most likely guys to be moved.

Crazy. I did not know he was on a team previously. I figured he was just some FA gem. B potential too so I'm looking forward to seeing what he looks like next year and I get a full season out of him.

I only usered him a few times and did get some nice pressure on the QB, but the sacks were all CPU controlled if I'm remembering correctly.

When I saw that speed, I had to take a look at him and I lucked out he dropped to me last FA round.

With Moch and previously Ndukwe, I think I've done a better job picking up FAs then I did drafting. I love Kilgo, and Stewart has been a great nickle/dime CB, but it hurts to walk away with only one B potential player in a draft. And that was my new starting RT.

I need to see some improvements out of all my B potential linemen. Rated 73, 74 and 76. All under 28 right now. If not, I may be in the market for some o-line help. That's my biggest issue going into Season 3.

So I'm the #3 seed regardless of whether I lose next week and Zurezo wins right? Just wanna make sure I'd be okay resting all my starters for Week 17. I'm 5-0 in the division and Zurezo is 3-2, that's how the tiebreaker works right? But EA messes things up sometimes with tiebreakers as far as I know so do you guys think I'd be okay or not?

You also beat him twice. You're locked in.

Yea the biggest pussies ever, i have to give some credit to the hometown hero Schneider even though he got the win against our home team, absolutely ridiculous game....straight intense from the first drop of the puck.

Ok thanks BV...man my depth chart is looking sorry right now lol. I got a bunch of 50-70 OVR players starting at various positions. I decided to leave Ray Lewis in at MLB...I admit a part of it is just to strengthen his case for DPOY or w/e, but mostly because I don't have enough depth at LB to rest both starting OLBs and still have 1 or 2 left over to back up my new starters when they get tired. I don't think Ray has missed any time since the league started...so I'm trusting him not to get injured this last game!! My starting 2 CBs are 68 and 63 OVR, my starting RE is like 55 OVR, my 2nd DT is 66 OVR, my 2nd string WR is 58 OVR, starting QB is 66 OVR.....yikes!!

Yeah if I beat the Packers, I may just rest my starters for week 17. I'll be completely healthy on defense for the first time in a while next week so they're definitely not playing.

Also, Chiefs need just 10 points to surpass the 630 points they put up last season. Charles needs 4 TD to pass the 41 TDs he put up last year.

Remaining Games:

Panthers-Saints
Chiefs-Packers
Falcons-Jaguars
Bears-Raiders
Giants-Eagles
49ers-Browns
Lions-Vikings
Bucs-Colts
Bengals-Steelers
Bills-Broncos
Redskins-Cardinals
Doom, what's still up for grabs in the NFC?
The NFC North can be won by Green Bay if I win out and Sprice loses his last 2. Wild card spots are also up for grabs with myself, Atlanta, and Seattle amongst those in the mix.

Exciting! Can't wait for the playoffs to get into gear.

Man, the wheels are really coming off the the Bengals. Not terribly surprising, but things sure went south quick.

NFC North and West is up for grabs. That's if Cru loses his next 2 though. First round bye still isn't secure for the Lions or Giants. Giants can wrap that up with their 13th win. Lions can still potentially lose it with a loss to the Vikings or Chiefs. The Saints would have to win out though. Also a chance Green Bay takes the division like Matt said above

The biggest headline is the wildcard race for that final spot. Either Atlanta, Green Bay, or Seattle will be left out.

The Eagles have now been mathematically eliminated. Great turnaround though.

Edit: Actually, no they haven't. They need to beat the Giants and Seahawks and get a little help from the teams in front of them. Still a chance!

jags vs falcons going down at 630 central
will the falcons keep there wildcard chances alive or will the underdog jags win and put the seahawks on there way to the wildcard spot???????????

Who holds the tiebreaker between the Packers and Falcons?

Also.. Who thinks they should mercy rule this game and get Lions-Saints rolling? :D

I love the way the Texans play. Pound the rock.
They've certainly been impressive in this one. I don't think they're going to be an easy out for Baltimore, despite what some are saying.

Go Denver!
