Panthers beat the Saints 24-21 as Olindo Mare drills a 42 yd FG as time expired. Very good game Ballhawk. Now if i beat the Falcons next week, i can lay Madden down with a respectable 9-7 record. :)

Anyone know is the schedule corrects itself in year 3 of the online franchise? Or are we going to be stuck playing the same divisions for a 3rd straight season?
Well, that and I'd rather the Patriots play Tebow. :D
Don't want to see if you can beat a team with a winning record this year yet? ;)

(I cannot believe thats true btw. Read that on Grantland if I'm remembering correctly. Insane.)

It's a bit misleading, since a bunch of those teams would have had winning records if they hadn't lost to the Patriots (including the Jets twice). They won 7 games against teams that finished 8-8. Similarly, if they'd beat the Giants, they wouldn't have had a winning record either.

It's a fun stat to throw around I guess, but the bottom line is they won the games they had to win.

But to answer your question, I want the easiest possible matchup every time. Give me the Broncos.

love seeing a out of reach game get ran up with passing on first and second down its just so much fun

There was a whole quarter left. I'm not going to run the clock out with 5 min left. That's not fun for any of us.

its whatever im just frustrated the ran is killing my WRs routes there falling all over my pass defense is getting destored only thing good in this game is my run D frustration is just kickin in bro thats all

GG gb

the jags played iike they did in the beginning of the season worse game in a long time plus the rain can suck my dick

I think the point is that their resume is fairly unimpressive for a 1 seed (at least thats what Simmons was getting at) but part of that is because the AFC was so unimpressive as a whole.

They're hardly invulnerable, I don't think I've seen anyone claiming otherwise. They're still the best of a weaker bunch of AFC teams. Whether they impressed you or not, they earned the 1 seed. I wondered for a second if they'd elect to trade places with the Jets (who they had no trouble beating twice, despite their unimpresiveness), and I think probably they wouldn't. ;)
Damned impressive opening drive by Stafford.
great drive... hope they win... loving the fumble
Lol please keep bringing up that the Pats beat a god awful Jets team twice. Kind of proving my point here.
Your point was that the Patriots aren't impressive? I guess it depends how you're defining impressive. They went 13-3, good enough for best record in the AFC. They won their division by 5 games. They had the highest point differential in the AFC by a very healthy margin. They won 13 games, many of them blowouts, despite a historically bad defense.

They've been bounced two years in a row by lower seeds, so I'm not taking anything for granted. I never do as a Pats fan. But whether you were impressed with them or not is kind of immaterial - your bias is pretty obvious.

saints still got this game just havin a bad start thats all detriot isnt good enough without javid best

As is yours. I just stated a fact. A fact you didn't like. It might be a tad misleading but it makes me think they are an unimpressive 1 seed. That's all.

I never said I didn't like your stat, it is what it is. I just tried to explain why it's a bit misleading and flukey in terms of the quality of schedule they played. I'm not going to fight the losing battle of trying to convince a Jets fan to be impressed with the Patriots.

Enjoy the Mark Sanchez era. ;)

So far I'm glad I took the under.

I love how you Pats fans love to talk about the Jets even more than your own team though. Unrelated to the conversation but they were mentioned in every one of your posts. Not sure what that means, but it sure is funny.
Looking at the standings...are the Falcons and Seahawks down to Strength of Victory?
Common games comes first. Not sure if you checked that.

Yeah, that's not true. I suspect you know it isn't, you're just enjoying trying to push my buttons now. I just happen to be talking to someone I know is a Jets fan. So that's how I approached the discussion.
Anyone know is the schedule corrects itself in year 3 of the online franchise? Or are we going to be stuck playing the same divisions for a 3rd straight season?
I want to know why the Patriots are not on my Schedule this year!! I feel like the Colts and Patriots play every year.
I want to know why the Patriots are not on my Schedule this year!! I feel like the Colts and Patriots play every year.
Because I won the AFC East in season 1 and the Colts finished 3rd in the AFC South. The only part of the season 2 schedule that did work correctly was the division leaders facing off, etc. So I played the Texans in year 2.

If the schedule corrects as it should, we'll play next year since the divisions face off (as will the real Pats and Colts).

Only three teams we've both played are Rams (1-0, 2-0) Panthers (1-0, 1-0) and Cowboys (1-0, 1-0). It doesn't really matter, because assuming doom beats the Packers, then I need to win if I want to make it, as both the seahawks and packers will probably win their week 17 games. And in that case we'd all be tied, but I would be in due to having the tie breaker over the Packers, so it would be between you and the Pack. Only scenario where a tie breaker between us would matter is if the Packers win out and then we both either lose or win in week 17.

I believe you need 4 common games anyway. So yeah, I guess it could come down to strength of victory. Should be interesting.

I love watching the Jets, fat fuck foot job Ryan open his fat mouth and swallow his words all of the time.

Strength of victory of common games or overall? If overall, I'm probably screwed.
Strength of victory of common games or overall? If overall, I'm probably screwed.
Overall. It's basically the record of everyone you've beaten. So if you mostly beat up on crappy teams, then yeah, you might be screwed.

I suspect 2 teams will make it in outright though.

I think the two most likely scenarios are:
1. week 16- Packers lose, week 17- all 3 teams win: Falcons and x make the playoffs
2. week 16- Packers lose, week 17- Falcons lose, Packers and Seahawks win: Packers and Seahawks make the playoffs

On the AFC side, Steelers are in the driver's seat for the 5 seed now, but the Texans do hold the tie-breaker so they can't slip up. Assuming both of them would rather play me than MA (which I certainly would if I were them, based on how the season's gone).

I know. But as quoted above, the Pats aren't always best represented in this thread. I still recall venom's Jets sig. You are one of the better/reasonable Pats fans I know but there's been more bad examples in this thread at times. In that way I'm a bit lucky to be the only Jets fan in the league.

Maybe it's because Boston fans are so used to the Red Sox playing second fiddle to the Yankees, that they enjoy the role reversal of the Patriots typically playing the hammer to the Jets' nail during the Belichick era.

Definitely possible. Though I'm not a Yanks fan and I think that nail-hammer dynamic between those two teams fell to the wayside in recent history.

Anyways, I'm watching the UConn game now. So go Huskies! That we can agree on.

We can agree that if they lose to fucking Rutgers after they just lost to fucking Seton Hall, I'm going to pop a blood vessel.

You guys like.....UCONN?

Yeah, I was rooting hard for Seton Hall when it was close vs Providence today. Beat UConn one game and lose to Providence the next... would look real bad. Maybe they'll be like South Florida a couple years back when they were a mediocre Big East team but will beat a 2-3 of the top teams in the conference over the course of the year.

Do you actually get the game down there? I've been lucky that SNY (Mets network) picked up Big East games a year or 2 ago.

Yeah, it's on here (they aren't always, but this one is on MASN). I'm not watching though, I'm switching between the Saints-Lions and golf.

Am I the only Big East team fan without hate for other Big East teams? Well, now I hate Cuse and Pitt for leaving the conference. And WVU if that happens too. But the only team I really disliked was Notre Dame. That's a bit too obvious, but also because of their damn football program never joining and essentially being the first domino in all this madness.

During the NCAA tournament I'm always a huge homer for all the other Big East teams (until they meet UConn, of course) and the Big East Tournament is always a favorite.
Am I the only Big East team fan without hate for other Big East teams?
I don't, in fact I generally root for the Big East in the tournament if they're not playing UConn. I do have a ton of friends who are Syracuse fans though, so there's a bit of a friendly rivalry there (not for long though, sons of bitches).
