in a supremely cruel twist of fate, I suffered some sort of knee injury(as of today, has yet to be identified) that left me with blood in my knee. Got it drained today but i was told that i could forget leaving for basic training on tuesday... needless to say, i'm pissed off. i could've still been throwing hissy fits while watching my Panther DBs drop INTs...
How long of a delay are you looking at Deuce?
not sure yet... still gotta find out whats wrong wit my knee. MRI tomorrow so i should have answers by tuesday
Could be a sign. Don't join the military, become a professional madden player!
HA! if i were to make the cut as a pro Madden player, the Madden world would implode

pro madden player a true american dream. a job u would never have to wake up early for no drug test lol could be the best job in the world

Patriots assert their AFC dominance with a 35-30 win over the Chiefs in an amazing contest. Full wrap-up to follow after I catch my breath.

Amazing game, Doom! I've got to admit, I was kind of in a Madden lull after a weeklong layoff, but great games like this against great opponents remind me how much I love this league!

KC falls to New England 35-30. I'll let bv do the right up here.

I seriously felt "madden'd" in that first half, but hey that's what I get for trying to turn this team into a passing team. Anyway, was able to keep my composure to make it a game, early lead proved to be too big of a hole for ol' Matt Cassel. Disappointed in my defense, just shows how much they've regressed since season 1.

Don't want to take away from this game though. Instant classic.

Great game bv. You may play better while gimped haha

I assume you're talking about the fumble recovery TD, which was certainly a bit Madden-y, though you got one in the second half to even things out. Ultimately the difference was Brady protecting the ball while Cassel couldn't.

You definitely staged a nice comeback, it was down to the final seconds there.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't too upset about it after that. Two strip fumble returns for TD in one game. Crazy. Not bitter about the loss, definitely had a chance there in the 4th. Cassel just doesn't have the stones.

Mine was particularly dumb since I'd just given it to Law Firm the play before for that exact reason, and then I was like "eh, I'll slip in a Ross carry here." Oops! That's why BJGE is on the damned team, idiot! :D
I wonder is it too early to say that I think ive got a playoff shot?
Dude your winning the Division! Of course you can say it!

Yeesh, just watched that last pick again. That was a Favre throw. Triple Coverage at least. Shoulda just scrambled, had quite a bit of daylight on the left side.

New England Patriots 35 - Kansas City Chiefs 30

In a game which could have huge implications come playoff seeding time, the Patriots defended their #1 spot in the Power Rankings and made a strong claim to being the best team in the AFC. The Patriots received the opening kickoff and put their stamp on the game early, with Cobie Ross taking his second carry of the day 72 yards to the house.

The KC offense couldn't get much going, and the Patriots scored again early in the second quarter on a Brady pass to Julius Thomas. After a Samuel pick, the Patriots had the ball at the Chiefs 35 on 4th-and-3 but elected to go for it rather than kicking straight into 17mph winds, but turned the ball over on downs. The Chiefs looked like they were heading for a score towards the end of the half when Devin McCourty forced a fumble at the 10 which Jonny Kohlhausen scooped and took 90 yards for the score. The Chiefs were able to drive into range for a last second field goal to make it 21-3 Pats at the half.

Things got interesting when the Chiefs returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a score. However, Cobie Ross put a damper on that elation by taking the very next carry 80 yards to the house. The Chiefs drove again and responded with a 25 yard TD run for Charles (one of only 4 carries on the day), before the Pats answered back with a Brady pass to Roddy White to make it 35-17 after three.

The Chiefs drove the length of the field again and capped off the drive with a 25 yard reception by Charles, but failed on the two point conversion twice (Mayo stuffed it the first time but pulled a facemask, and then he stuffed it again the second time). The Chiefs then attempted the surprise onside kick, which wasn't so surprising and the Pats recovered. However, Cobie Ross coughed up the football and Derrick Johnson scooped it for the score. The Pats got the ball back and were able to drive the clock down to about a minute and half before they needed to punt it back. The Chiefs, who elected to save their timeouts, started from the 20 with all three and drove to the Patriots 40 before Devin McCourty picked off Cassel to cap off a wild 35-30 win for the Pats.

Tom Brady was 9 of 13 for 191 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs. Amazingly, those were his first two TD passes since week 5!

Matt Cassel was 15 of 26 for 275 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. This against what was the #1 passing and scoring defense entering the week (no longer!)

Cobie Ross carried 18 times for 152 yards and 2TDs. Which seems nice until you realize that his 2 TDs accounted for 100% of that. 16 carries for 0 yards otherwise, plus a costly fumble. The man did not get himself a game ball in this one.

Jamaal Charles bizarrely only received 4 carries, totaling 35 yards and a score.

Wes Welker was the leading receiver for the Pats (first time I can remember writing that!) with 3 catches for 94 yards. White and Thomas had the TDs.

Tony Moeaki did most of the lifting for the Chiefs, with 8 catches for 164 yards, with Charles catching the TD.

Devin McCourty definitely gets the game ball in this one for forcing 2 key turnovers, one of which resulted in 6 and the other which ended the game. My D gave up a ton of yards, but I don't think they were that bad overall. 30 points is the most I've given up this season by far, but only 16 of those were on the defense.

The Patriots move to 8-1 in their quest for a 1 seed, while the Chiefs fall to 6-3.

gg again Doom! I'll be honest, I'm puzzled by you completely abandoning the ground game in this one. I know I've had success bottling up Charles in the past, but the extent to which you didn't use him at all surprised me. I'm not complaining though.

This was definitely a fun one, you did a fantastic job against Ross aside from the two runs. I have a feeling we haven't seen each other for the last time this season!
Yeesh, just watched that last pick again. That was a Favre throw. Triple Coverage at least. Shoulda just scrambled, had quite a bit of daylight on the left side.
Yeah, it was probably ill-advised since time wasn't a huge factor yet with 3 timeouts remaining. Your passing offense is tough to cover, it reminds me a lot of what I was running with the Chargers last year. I was doubling Moeaki a lot, but you always seemed to find him when I wasn't (and even a couple times I was). Despite all the yards, I'm fairly happy with my passing defense, with the exception of that one pass Austin caught over Samuel down the sideline (which was one of the only times all game I was in a zone, and also the last one).

Decided early that this type of season needed to happen for Cassel. Need to go through the growing pains with this team while learning to pass to the weapons I have around him. I don't like being a one dimensional runner so I'm just trying to get better passing the ball. As you can see, I'm still learning what Cassel can and can't do. (Can't beat triple coverage, can't scramble to save his life, overthrows all bombs) Stuff like that.

Plus it was 21-0 before I knew it. Reminded me of the Steelers game.

Either way though, great game. Looking forward to a rematch if it happens, though at this point, I may not make it with the Chargers making a play for the division and 4 or 5 teams fighting for the wild card.

I'm not penciling the Chargers in for the division until he can beat you. Besides, your three losses are to teams that have been in the playoffs every season, I'm not prepared to start on your season's obituary just yet. ;)

Though if the Jets beat the Steelers, your team would be out of playoff position for the first time since... never?

Looking back, the play(s) of the game might have actually been Mayo stuffing the 2 point conversion twice. If you make that, it's a 3 point game at the end and you probably handle that last drive differently not needing a TD. You were already almost in range. Jerod gets an ice cream sandwich. :D

Indeed, first time since never!

He has a much easier schedule than I do down the stretch so we'll see.

Yeah I noticed that as well. Left a lot of plays on the field, Stupid Chiefs

Staticz said to find a sub to play tomorrow, so is anyone available between 3-6 P.M. Eastern? The earlier within that time frame, the better. I have a hockey game tomorrow night.

I can sub for him at that time if he wants me to and if its ok with you.

Doom if your around could you ask dead if he can play tom. anytime because thurs. he said to play tonight at 11 and hes not on I sent him a message on XBL and got no reply.

Can't beat Madden and Zurezo. Ran the clock down a little early in the 3rd but no big deal. Jets lose 2 fumbles for a TD and then with the half winding down Troy breaks a tackle after a pick in the redzone and he takes it to the house. I'm calling at least 14 of those points bullshit and I lost by 7 so I'm not worried.

Anyone want to trade me a LB?

I will trade any of my picks plus I have Best I will trade he can play again in week 12

Did staticz leave or do I need to boot him?

BV, you want to take over commish? I'll likely be out of here in an hour or so for the evening. DarthoftheDead is actually in town. Showing him what he's been missing with the league with a few beat downs :) haha.

I might. I have a lot of LBs

Woah woah woah. Don't boot me, I need a sub for him now. I sent him a PM around noon saying I could play whenever (wife caught strep throat so plans got cancelled) and he never replied.

The only reason I said he could find a sub was out of frustration anyway. I was available fo over 75% of the allotted time frame....and now 100%.

I can play pretty much anytime tonight, just working out in the garage. Also, I don't care who it is just send me a PM and I'll hop on!
Anyone know what's up with 49ers-Vikings?
We tried to play yesterday and couldn't connect. Speaking just for myself, I'd say feel free to sim/sub or whatever you guys need to do so that game doesn't hold up the league. I am posting this from my phone as I am out with my wife.

Cru hasn't come around, so I'd say it's safe to sim that.

Staticz asked me to sub for Matt Young (he doesn't care about the disparity in records), so if nobody else wants to do it I think we can play that game and then get it advanced.

Staticz said he could play after 8:30, so just waiting for him now. If we don't get started by 9:30 or so I'll sim it.

Edit: Kicking off shortly

Holy smokes the Packers are good! Given that I'm playing staticz later in the year, I wasn't about to use my normal offense (the Cobie Ross), and instead went with my Madden 11 offense. Turns out I can still spread it around when I try.

gg staticz!

Titans fall to 4-6. Crazy ass 4th quarter. Locker made some great throws, couldn't punch it in tho. Sucks to throw for 400 and only 1 td. Miles austin runnin the onsides back for a td gave me new life with 2 min left, score 35-25. I made it 35-28 but then he busted one with charles to make it 42-28. Then I got down inside the 30 with 25sec left and like a retard kicked a fg thinkin I was down 10 for some reason. Game was over tho great game doom. Both my onsides were close to being successful, fking madden doessnt start bironas as my KOS. His awareness may have helped.

Gotta win out from here, and that still don't guarentee anything.

Wild game. Titans came out strong in the first quarter, running the ball straight down KC's throat. Before you knew it, 14-0 Titans on two huge runs by Chris Johnson. The Chiefs behind the arm of Matt Cassel (who had already thrown two picks on the day) answered in the 2nd with a lengthy drive that started at the KC 12. The drive ended when Cassel hit McClain on a nice dump off pass for the touchdown. The Chiefs would force a punt and score again to even the game 14-14 at halftime. (Bironas missed a 57 yard kick before the half after a nice drive by Jake Locker)

Not much went down in the third, though Cassel did hit Armanti Edwards on a clutch 3rd and long play for the go ahead score. 21-14 Chiefs going into the 4th.

Where things began to get crazy...The Titans made it 21-17 on their next drive. The Chiefs looking to answer again marched straight down the field and punched it in with Leron McClain. 28-17 game over!...? Nope. With exactly three minutes to play, Locker takes over and marches the Titans straight down the field in a matter of 30 seconds culminating with a 29 yard score to Kenny Britt. The two point conversion made it 28-25.

The Titans kick the onside kick and it's...recovered....by Miles Austin who breaks a tackle and takes it all the way to the house for the touchdown. (Shocked the hell out of me)

Titans tacked on a field goal to make it 35-28 though again failed to recover the onside kick and Jamaal Charles slammed the door after a 45 yard TD run.

GG Bseti.

Charles 16 Att 152 Yds 1 TD
Cassel 10 of 17 224 Yds 2 TD 2 INT

Locker 15 of 27 297 Yds 1 TD
Chris Johnson 11 Att 108 Yds 2 TD
Kenny Britt 7 Rec 155 Yds 1 TD

It's pretty sad that I'm playing my best defensive season of Madden 12 and I'm sitting at 5-4. Plenty of time (how long can I say that for?), but I believe I'm losing tiebreakers to both the Steelers and the Dolphins who sit ahead of me now.

Top 5 running offense, top defense, top pass D... a game over .500 to show for it.

And your schedule doesn't get much easier with 5 quality teams remaining. You know, you're not far off from being 9-0. All close games.
