Didn't listerfiend say he was done with the league? Pretty sure he did a few pages back, said he had a work trip coming up if I'm not mistaken

Yeah, he did. He was the Rams, but he still hasn't dropped or been booted yet, which is why Lyric can't join.
 
Bye week coming up for the Chiefs. Though it will let Brandon Flowers be healthy in time for Oakland. It's been a nightmare without him.

Can this be confirmed on the EA franchise site? I'm 99% sure I booted Lister, but if not I'll get that done tonight so Lyric can join.

Yup, confirmed it myself. Lister still has them. The only currently unowned teams according to the franchise site are: Bengals, Jags, Saints
 
So is the topic title correct in stating that the deadline is Friday? I had scheduled Packers/Falcons for today, but I have an appointment which I forgot about. Hoping to set something up for later tonight or tomorrow.

Another thing to mention: This FA period extends only as long as Week 5. After we advance there's not going to be any "but, but, I never picked up a FA!" (which we had some of last year). This is your chance, there's no make-up dates. :D

I'm super excited to have a decent blocking fullback. Given my woes with adjusting to the passing game in this year's Madden (shocking considering how prolific I was last year), it helps me shore up my ground-and-pound mentality in these games. My pass-run ratio is actually exactly 1-1 right now, which would never have been the case last season.

I think at some point we should probably just open up free agency for good. I think it will just be easier to let people pick up extra depth if they need it or make a change to their roster as a result of injuries, without having to bug the commishes about it. If there are still enough priority free agents available that a free for all wouldn't work, we could just do another round of free agency like we're doing now. Maybe keep the rule that if you ever pick someone up in FA, you have to drop someone else.
 
We're definitely not going to do that. I don't mind being bugged. And we definitely need to be kept apprised of every move so that we're sure nobody's up to no good.

We will however, do another round of FA pick-ups, probably in Week 10. The idea is for people to be able to augment their existing team, not completely re-tool it.

The idea is that all free agents of any real worth will be gone at that point. Switching my 5th CB or whatever shouldn't be a big deal.

We're nowhere near that point though. Even after picking up the top 32 guys, there will be plenty on the wire who would represent upgrades over plenty of players currently on rosters, starters included. I guarantee you right now it would be bedlam.

Cam Newton still cant go a game without throwing at least 1 INT but thanks to DeAngelo Williams' production and a fairly effective defense, the Panthers got by the Saints. The second meeting should be very interesting. GG Ballhawk
 
While on the issue of Free Agents how are we doing if you lose a player to injury for a extended period of time , after this free agent pick up period ?
 
This is a shot in the dark for real but is there any chance of there being a CAG Fantasy Draft League ? I know there was one a while back I would love to be apart of one ?

You are allowed to pick up an injury replacement for a player with a longterm injury (more than a couple of weeks) with the following caveats:

1) You must have sufficient need at that position. So if your starting RG gets injured, but you have 2 others on your roster, you can't pick up a replacement. This generally includes positions which are interchangable. So if you only have 2 ROLBs, and 1 gets injured, but you have 4 LOLBs, you should be fine.

2) The player you pick up must have a lower overall rating than the LOWEST overall player on your roster at that position, not just lower than the player he's replacing.

3) Once the injured player returns, you must drop the injury replacement.

4) Injury replacements are only for depth, not to improve some area of your team. For example, if your starting CB gets injured, and you pick up a very low rated CB who has a high KR rating, forgoing several other higher-rated overall options, that's not really in the spirit of the injury replacement rule.

If we do a 2.0 league again this year, that's certainly an option. We'd considered it last year but decided to go with the "good players get the crappy teams" approach instead (not that it ended up making much difference).

Yea I think the Fantasy would be more fun , and my 49ers have always been crappy so it really doesn't matter lol

Hell yeah I'd be down for a fantasy draft too...that'd be something new. Although I'm pretty sure I'd end up screwing myself over snatching up all the tempting offensive and defensive playmakers and end up with an o-line with an average rating of a 61. Or maybe I'll take Adrian Peterson with the 1st pick and the next 5 picks being the best run-blocking offensive linemen available...that sounds like something Doom would consider!

Could I get my punter through the injury replacement rules if mine is out. I can't remember though if he's hurt or I'm just not using him because he sucks, but if he's hurt I think it meets your criteria listed above. I just have to check if both my punters are out with injuries.
