Glad to get all that Peterson info after I agree to a trade.
Don't pretend like I haven't been telling you pretty much the exact same thing while trying to get you not to trade him. ;)
Oh okay gotcha! When am I gona kno if tht trade is good or not??
Definitely not today. With a trade this big we're going to wait for everyone to weigh in.

This is true
i like that trade
based on new information about Patrick Peterson, i'm gonna have to rescind my previous evaluation of the trade
Well since I guess we agreed on allowing input to be given as far as player progressions go (for people with an inside scoop)...Patrick Peterson will be 92 OVR next season with 96 man, 88 zone, and 92 press...along with 97 speed, 79 catching, and also being one of the best tackling CBs in the league. It's safe to say he'll be better than Porter in just ONE season...we're talking about a 92 OVR CB at 22 years old. Imagine how good he'll be in his 3rd season (I'm only on season 2 in the other franchise so I don't know personally). Like I said...it's extremely hard to OVERPAY for Patrick Peterson, so I definitely personally disagree with people who think the Saints are giving too much here. Kolb is more than competent as a franchise QB...at least in this game. I don't have any problems with the trade...but I just cringe a little in anticipation of what BigAT will say about the trade lol (or any other people in opposition of these huge unrealistic blockbusters).
Well I was about to suggest the pick should be a 1st rounder, but with this information, I think the trade looks good as it stands. We need more input though.

It wasn't an accident that pretty much everyone in the league tried to trade for Peterson. In two seasons, he'll basically be a younger Revis. He's probably the best prospect in the entire game right now.

As for BigAT's reaction, I'm already picturing him muttering to himself every time AP gets a carry in our game tonight, so I'm sure he won't be thrilled by this one either.

Kolb is never likely to be as good as Brees in our franchise, so while he might give 80% of the production, that does in some ways offset the fact that Peterson will be a stud for years to come. Plus, Porter is no slouch, nor is Sproles.

My biggest hesitation from the Saints' end is such a huge name moving away from a first place team. But obviously I have no issue with blockbusters in general. And from a selfish standpoint, I'll be glad that I will no longer be involved in the biggest one.

Just a disclaimer though: the franchise I'm in that I used in order to find the stats on Peterson is using the pre-online franchise roster updates. Not that Peterson's rating changed at all...but I dunno if they implemented a different progression system or tweaked some things or whatever...I highly doubt it but just wanted to throw that out there.

Mercedes Lewis is back on the trading block. Looking for young CB's with high potential, young WR's with high potential, and offensive line help.

I've got a chise in its second year and Patterson is 88 OVR. Is progression somehow based on performance or is it only the POT attribute? either way there is some randomization to it.

Perhaps that is the problem with my franchise. I'm using updates from around last week.

He hasn't sparkled as a rookie yet, so it's likely they've dialed back his projections a little bit from his preseason hype. Based on his current attributes in our league, I think he'll be somewhere around what MA said.

I like how something that was deemed patch-worthy by EA was being so vehemently defended in the thread mere hours ago. Is that the kind of league this is?

I just don't understand the mindset behind taking over a team, then ranking your priorities for your team and sitting high at the top of the list is:

1) GET RID OF MY BEST PLAYER AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE

It's perplexing.

BV you around now?

I assume you're talking about both players in this case?

And give me 5 minutes, then I'm ready to go.

Just talking generally about some of the players I've seen tossed around in trades so far. That trade certainly falls under the umbrella of my thought though.

I'll be on.

Sup Jamaal
Could have been 420 yards and 7 TDs but I took a dive, so I could run out the clock

Falcons 49
Colts 29

New Falcon players didn't do much, Daryl Smith had 1 tackle and maybe a deflection. The Falcons did manage to intercept 4 Manning passes.
Good game pitfall.
fuck. That. It was a really good game until the second half. I could do nothing to stop the run. Doomstink didn't even put up that much on me with Charles.
:applause: Good choice.

And more applause for accessing the stats, how did you do that? The videos are still blocking me out.

I had to put the link in firefox and click fast. It wouldn't work at all on chrome.

Ahhhhh I'll do that then. Thanks for the tip.

I got the Cardinals, didn't pick the Cardinals, don't particularly like the way the team operates. Given that I have 3 years to play, is it so perplexing that it I would want to build a team that I enjoy playing with?

Giants 12 - Pats 3

Defensive struggle as predicted. I couldn't get anything whatsoever going all game (the rain didn't help). The key was when it was 9-3 late and I had the Giants 3rd-and-10 from their own 2. Jacobs broke away (really my defense failed to touch him) and carried it almost the entire length of the field. I held them to a FG, but that put it out of reach.

--
gg BigAT! I probably should have tried to do some more stuff offensively, I feel like I got pretty conservative (the drive where I got the FG is the perfect example). The rain just scared the shit out of me, I focused too much on not screwing up and not enough on actually making some plays. Oh well, I didn't expect to win this one anyway, at least I held your offense in check for the most part aside from that one run.

Can someone else sub for the Steelers against MA tonight? I need to do some work tonight for a meeting tomorrow. He said he'd be around between 10-11 EST.

Patch or no patch, the dreary New England area was not going to be told it couldn't have rain. That certainly helped the defensive showdown live up to its namesake and produced a game that saw only 15 total points scored.

We each had a bullshit punt that somehow landed inside the 2 yard line. I managed to turn mine into a safety that marked the first points scored in the game. BV shut me down on my first two attempts to gain room, leaving me at my own 2 with a 3rd and 10. Thankfully Brandon Jacobs decided it was time to go into beast mode and broke off an 82 yard run that would have gone for a touchdown with any other running back. Still, it completely changed the game around and gave me the ability to burn some clock and kick a field goal to go up two scores late in the game.

My defense came up big as well. They forced 4 turnovers while holding Adrian Peterson to just 2.3 YPC.

Giants - 12
Patriots - 3

GG BV.

Giants move to 8-0 and prepare for their second tough game in a row when they travel to the 6-1 49ers next week.

I can sub for sub for one of these teams!!

Here's how I see it: Most of the players in this league have no realistic chance of winning the Super Bowl. I'm including myself in that. We can play well and improve (and I think I have over the years), but at the end of the day it's hard to compete with some of the guys in the league who are truly exceptional at this game. The game we just played is a good example of that.

So for you, one of the 2 or 3 best players in the league, just playing with the team you have is probably enough fun for you since you're always going to be around at the end. For some people though, wheeling and dealing adds another layer of enjoyment to the game which we can't always get on the field.

I'm not trying to make this sound like a "good players" versus "bad players" thing, just trying to rationalize why some people, myself included, really get so much enjoyment out of retooling our rosters. Seeing how good I can make my roster is basically my Super Bowl every year. ;)

All three of those picks were on the exact same fly route. What's the definition of insanity again? :wall:

I can take a positive away from this game though: My defensive improvement appears to be real. If not for the Jacobs breakdown, both of us would've been under 150 total yards for the game.

I love having DBs that are good enough that I can be aggressive in other parts of the field and leave them by themselves for the most part. Two INTs for Rolle, one for TT.

It was probably a mistake not to even go to the PA well once. But I haven't had much success with it this year, and given the weather conditions and that Peterson wasn't presenting much of a threat anyway, I'm not sure how effective it would be.

Every time I play you I feel like I learn something new about playing defense in this game though, so I always feel like I can take something away from it. I didn't have many defensive breakdowns other than the Jacobs run. The only other one I can remember is I forgot the D I was in at the snap and thought Mayo was in a zone when in fact he was manned up on Bradshaw. I shadowed the tight end and left Bradshaw wide (and I mean WIDE) open in the flat. That was definitely a mental mistake. The Jacobs run was a poor playcall, I came too aggressively hoping you might pass and I could get a safety.
I wanna sub bad!!!
Let's let Ballhawk do it, I don't believe he's subbed before and his record is closer to Zurezo's. Plus, the poor guy has been begging to play more for days. :D

Ubernes - If you're around, Zurezo will need a boot before the game.
