N8 can you play today?
Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. The wife and I had a lot of errands to run today. I doubt I'll be able to play within your timeframe tonight. We can shoot for tomorrow though.

Okay, but just to make sure: Can you play tonight if we start around 10pm est? If not you know my times for tomorrow (although I have lot of work to do at home), thursday= same as tomorrow (but less work), and friday I'll be able to play from 1pm est until maybe 11.
Whoever my opponent is, I'm free the next two nights so just PM me about your availability.
I believe that's me (if you're the Browns). See above.

Panthers 24
Lions 21

Nail biter in Detroit. Carolina escapes with a win but we lose DeAngelo Williams for 10 weeks to a herniated disk. Carolina's secondary did a decent job even though Calvin Johnson's numbers say he murdered Chris Gamble. INTs by Brandon Hogan, Sherrod Martin, and the game saving pick by Chris Gamble allowed the Panthers to overcome the loss of Williams, who put up 153 yards and a TD before getting injured. Matt Stafford was erratic for most of the night but managed to toss 3 TDs(all 3 to TE Scheffler) and 2 of them were bombs over 50 yards. After this, i'm concerned about having to play Sprice in the other league... but for now, i'm gonna savor the win.

Great Game Sprice
am i allowed to pick up a RB since DeAngelo is out for pretty much the rest of the season?
Not if you have two other healthy RBs on your roster.

You can always use your FA pick to get one though.

meh... thought u needed 3 active RBs but i guess not. I knew trading Stewie would come back to haunt me...
That's what happens when you call out Jamaal Charles. Did a little voodoo magic on DeAngelo
lmao... touche:cool:

Sup Jamaal
Could have been 420 yards and 7 TDs but I took a dive, so I could run out the clock

Falcons 49
Colts 29

New Falcon players didn't do much, Daryl Smith had 1 tackle and maybe a deflection. The Falcons did manage to intercept 4 Manning passes.
Good game pitfall.
Just saw this now. Yeah, even this late, I can't play tonight. According to the thread title, the deadline is Thursday night. I should be able to play either tomorrow or Thursday within the timeframe you gave me though. If you want to just pick a set time that works for you, I can tell my wife I have "plans" for that time. Hope that works for you.

More importantly, you hope that works for her.

SEA - 28
STL - 13

Seattle moves to 6-4 on the season with a win in St. Louis. The Seahawks were able to hold Steven Jackson to 82 yds and kept Bradford at bay for most of the game. Seattle's defense continues to improve limiting STL, who had scored 93 pts in a span of two games, to just one TD and two FGs.

The offense was more of the same. A heavy dose of Ray Rice sprinkled with a bit of passing from Josh Freeman. Rice ended up with 190yds and 2 TDs although he did fumble the ball twice. Freeman finished the game with 155yds and 2 TDs.

GG lyric.

Holy crap. Ray Rice is impossible to stop.

Good game. I figured I'd get my ass handed to me tonight. Score is a lot closer than the game really was.

I GOT LYNCH'ED LAST NIGHT, 0-41. Good game MA, well for you. Easily the toughest Defense and RB I have face yet this season. Top passer who enter after the half, Andy Dalton, was the top passer with 68 yards(all accumulated in 1 pass to the leading receiver, AJ Green). Lynch - 285 yards, ARGH.

Go ahead. I'm adding that to the OP along with the Bears trade now. After that, we're done with trades for this season.

Just a heads up on the BUCS vs GB game I sent Matt Young a PM on monday posted something in here yesterday and sent him a message on XBL and have not got a answer yet. I really need to play this game tonight because I work 1-11pm cst I can play anytime but then and dont I dont want to play this game at 11pm cst tomm. and hold everyone up. while we wait to advance
What is the plan with FA? Next week?
Yeah, we'll do the next round during Week 12.
so when do trades begin again after th sb?
We'll open them up again between the SB and the draft, yeah. People can start discussing them whenever they want though I suppose, though it's probably advisable to wait until after the SB since you'll be able to see how players progress.

Crew and the 49ers really schooled me. His defense was way ahead of everything my offense was doing, resulting in 5 interceptions, one or two of them were for a TD.

By the time I could get a decent offense going, the score deficit was way to big. I kept him contained on defense for a lot of the second half. But I made it pretty hard on myself with pick 6's and giving him the ball inside my territory so many times.

Gotta learn to not make mistakes against good opponents, and Crew's defense was definately the toughest I have faced in a long time.

Great Game played by Crew, glad I have another one against him in a few weeks.

Packers/Buccaneers have exchanged messages. However, Tanabeo is unavailable from 1-11 P.M. Eastern time, which pretty much leaves no time to play the game. I'm hoping we can work something out.

Lol thanks for the nice compliments friend :O) Marshawn almost had a Jamaal Charles-esque game there!! Except with a couple less TDs. Couldn't take much credit for that game...defense played great and my o-line was creating some crazy holes up the middle (I literally ran it up the middle basically every run play but there wasn't much stopping it). I don't think it's coincidence that Lynch had by far his best game of the season right after trading for Pettigrew (this was actually my 2nd game since acquiring Pettigrew, but I was playing from behind the entire game against Seattle so I didn't get to run much despite the 8 YPC average). Peppers had 2 sacks, Lewis had 2 picks, Pettigrew had 1 catch (for a TD), Earl Thomas with just a swatted pass, and Lynch with the aforementioned 285 yards and 2 TDs.

Yeah, forgot about that damn tipped ball, straight up in the air and right to.........Ray Lewis!!! We meet again in a few weeks - hopefully my boys learned something...
Earl Thomas with just a swatted pass, and Lynch with the aforementioned 285 yards and 2 TDs.
That was basically all I ever got out of Thomas, although I'm sure he will be better next season.

Looks like Lynch is playing well for you, glad to hear that our trade worked out for both of us.

Matt could you be on at 9 CST 7 pacific I will leave early from work if you can if not I'm going to stay at work
gbpackers, you told me between 5-10 pm est today and tomorrow. Just name a time and i'll be there. I just need to know when.
5:15?

I don't know if he'll see this in time, because I think he still has some computer issues. He's asked that people text him or contact him through Facebook (his number is on his page)

Yeah, that will work. But I'll barely have time for the game then. So, try not to be late, please.

Lol yeah he does that so many times...he is usually in GREAT position to pick off passes but he just bats them down almost every time. There are a lot of defenders who go for interceptions and just drop them, but he doesn't even TRY with his 80 catch rating. I don't know if there's an attribute that plays into that, but it's a little annoying. It's only slight nit-picking though, the fact that he even gets a hand on so many passes makes him a good investment.

Titans 7
Falcons 42

Michael Turner has another dominant performance gaining 196 yards and 4 tds on the ground and 37 recieving yards. Ray Edwards had 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles and Dunta Robinson got an interception on defense. Matt Ryan is starting to gain some composure, going 7-10 for 185 yards a td and a interception (unlucky). Julio Jones is really starting to earn his pay, catching 116 of those yards and a td. Jason Snelling tacked on 16 rushing yards and a TD. gg n8!

I'm liking the rest of the Falcons schedule for the remaining 6 games. The combined record of my remaining opponents is 25-29 (through week 9).

So, is "gg" just the common thing to say in this league when you get done kicking the shit out of somebody? Not attacking you at all gbpackers (because your running game was off the charts). It's just happened several times, and if you think about it, it doesn't make much sense. Whenever I blow somebody out in a game, I try to show a little more tact and tell them that I was fortunate with a few plays or that the bounces went my way. It's almost comical at this point because I feel like responding with "yeah, ok..."

Maybe it's just me, but having all the "power rankings" and "players of the week" shit seems to be chipping away at the sportsmanship. It feels like there's more of a focus on who can get the most rushing yards or score the most points rather than just winning a game. And bottom line, there is a huge divide between the top players in this league and the "bottom feeders". I get that you guys like us being here because it keeps the league full and we're easy wins. But at some point, it stops being fun. I'm sure plenty of people will tell me I'm a d-bag idiot, but whatever. Just something to think about.

I say "gg" whether I win by 35 or lose by 35. I probably would have said more but I absolutely hate typing with the controller, so I usually post in the thread explaining the game and saying good game again. And yeah, I can see why you would be frustrated (your oline is less than stellar) but I don't think anyone is trying to take advantage of the "bottom feeders". If you look at the scores most of the top teams in the league have lost by 14 or more at least once this season.
gg n8!
No offense to you because everybody does it, but I'm getting tired of being told "gg" when I'm done getting the shit kicked out of me. I understand the sentiment, but usually when I destroy somebody, I try to say something about being fortunate with a couple plays or having some bounces go my way. Just getting "gg" is like patting a dog on the head.

I'll tell everybody right now, I'm not going to play another season (which is why I decided against tearing the Titans apart in trades that I had no intention of following up on). It's undeniable there's a HUGE divide between the top players in this league and the "bottom feeders" (and I still say it certainly doesn't help that some of the lesser players have crappier teams too). I know it's "fun" for us to be here because it keeps the league full and it gives you guys easy wins, but at some point it just stops being fun.

It's not anybody's fault here. There's just an A Squad and a B Squad. And the B Squad has no business playing with the A Squad.

I know. I was hoping you wouldn't see that first post because I felt like a dick after I posted it. It's nobody's fault. But there's no denying that for about half the teams in the league...there's hardly a point in playing the game. People might not like to think about it, but it's true.

I'd love to join in but my copy didn't have an online pass. Can someone supply me with one who has an extra lying around? Pm me.

I'm really enjoying taking these a** whoopings, if anything it shows me that I am no way near the Madden player I thought I was.

Espescially with all the seasons we are playing, it's great chance to learn from my mistakes and see how really talented Madden players hone their craft.

Thanks again for letting me join this and the fantasy league, I think it's great and won't be quitting anytime soon.

i think there is a B group, an A group, and an elite group in this league. the interesting thing is the elites have teams that aren't considered the best in the game. I joined the league with Madden 10 and i lucked up and got the Ravens... and i was undone in the Super Bowl in back to back years by Cru (Panthers) and BigAt (Giants). The Super Bowl winners since i have joined were owners of the Panthers, Giants, Broncos and Raiders...none of those teams except maybe the Giants would be considered one of the "better" teams in the NFL. As it stands now, Doom has the Chiefs, Mog has the Bears, Cru has the 49ers, BigAt still owns the Giants... A case could be made for Ubernes and the Jets, BV and the Pats, and MasterAwesome and the Ravens, but to say that it's all about the team isn't accurate since none of them have won a SB. I think it's about having a team and understanding your skill set and matching that up with what your team does well to earn Ws. I'm comfortable with Carolina and what they have... even though our defense is severly handicapped in certain areas, i had the #2 Defense going into this week...

N8, i think u should stay and stick with Tennessee... when we played, you had spots where you could've raped my run D but you hesitated or were late bouncing to the outside. Throwing INTs is a inescapable reality against many of the people in this league so you also have to figure out when and how to pass on people. You aren't terrible, you just need to dig in and really learn some of the ins and outs of the game on both sides of the ball. Practice makes perfect;)
