Packers/Bucs won't be starting til 10 P.M. Eastern, anyway, since that's when Tanabeo said he'll be getting home.
Im leaving work in 20min and it takes me 45 min to get home so I will be on 9:45-10pm est
Man2008 will you be able to play tonight if we advance? My weekend is pretty tight...
Yea I'm online now

Super important games this week, a few of them interconference.

Giants 9-1 @ Saints 7-3

Steelers 8-2 @ Chiefs 10-0

Bears 7-3 @ Raiders 6-4

Redskins 6-4 @ Seahawks 6-4

49ers 8-2 @ Ravens 7-3

Packers 7-3 @ Lions 6-4

Bills 5-5 @ Jets 8-2

Bucs win one in GB 13-7 in a game were it was all defenses there was only 369 total yards between both teams. TB had 5 picks and GB forced Best to fumble 3 time but TB only lost one. Josh Johnson save me with a few 3rd down runs.

GG matt
Def Player is Ray EDWARDS!!! Not Ray Lewis. That dirtbag MasterAwesome must have had something to do with this.
Who put lewis, My Bad I just saw Ray and figured it was old man lewis:)

Gg Bills. No idea how you get any enjoyment out of your style of play but hey it worked once again so no reason to stop. Sanchez throws the game away literally in a game where there were only a handful of worthwhile possessions. So a couple picks and one blown coverage and that's all she wrote.
Just like the last one?

lol
I don't think I had as many picks. You throw 2 INTs with a total of 6 possessions in a game and you're going to lose. Very frustrating to say the least. Held your running game in check. Besides one long pass I was doing the same for the passing. I should've never strayed from my running game or forced so many throws. Your strategy works wonders on me because I have no patience for it. When I get the ball I want to chuck it down the field just to spite you and that causes the picks. GG like I said, but I'm bored to death when I play you and I'm frustrated these games aren't helping my playoff plans is all.

Haha, I'm with you uber, I can't stand it either. It's kind of funny that he was the one advocating for longer games. Can you imagine?

Longer games with accelerated clock please...
Longer games with accelerated clock please...
Play faster. If you play that slow to try and prove a point or something, it's not going to work. It's just annoying.

Anybody else's Madden saying they don't have an online pass? I can't get on at all, and when I re-download it, it doesnt work.

SEA - 52
WAS - 14

The Seahawks continue their winning ways heading into the home stretch of the season. In a game that could determine playoff positioning, the Hawks came out on top 52-14. Josh Freeman (152.0 QBR, 223 yds, 3TDs) continued to progress and led his team most of the way.

Washington had a stout run defense but Seattle was able to bounce to the outside on several big plays. All 3 RBs on the team had a touchdown and ran for a combined total of 230+ yds.

The Skins were able to score on a bomb to Moss on their first possession but the Hawks defense was able to hold their rushing attack to just 18yds. Garrard was hurt late in the game but I was unable to see what the injury was.
You guys make it sound like I run the play clock to one second one every play....
I'm just wondering, but are you purposefully running the clock down or are you legitimately looking for a play/making adjustments? If it's the later it's fine with me (boring, but fine), but if it's a strategy to try and keep the ball out of the opponents hands then I think it needs to stop. It's not fun for anyone and it is taking advantage of our shortened quarters. It's basically equivalent to the packers running the ball every play the whole game and letting the clock run all the way down. Again, if it's the later than just ignore the two sentences before this.
What do you do? I'm interested to know. Do you sit on the ball every play?
15 seconds to pick a play
5 seconds to get set
5 seconds to pre read defense
5 seconds to hot route if nesccary
it leaves me with 10 seconds left. Does that not seem fair?

That's 10% of a quarter right there.

For me it's like:
3 seconds to pick a play
3 seconds to get set
2 seconds to read defense
2 seconds to audible
2 second to hot route if necessary

I have to ask why you're pro-accelerated clock if it takes you that long to actually set up each play. Do you wish for 1 second left? haha.

It saves you guys about 8 second but that 8 seconds is better than none right? If I pick a play quicker than normal though.

Shouldn't take 15 seconds to pick every play and you should be hustling up to the line. As long as you're not waiting all the way to 1 second.

I guess I would suggest learning your playbook a bit better, so that it doesn't take you 15 seconds every play.

Again, I really feel weird telling you how to play the game, but I'm finding it a bit unbelievable that you take 15 seconds to pick every play and that you hot route every time (that's half the clock). You seem to consistently bring the clock down to around 10, though you seem to move a faster pace on downs where the clock has been stopped. Maybe it's a coincidence.

I noticed that too. I couldn't decide if it was coincidence or not.

Why is it ok for certain people to do certain things because it "fits their players", but if somebody needs extra time calling plays or likes to grind the ball and eat up clock, it's so frowned upon? I've got a shitty offensive line and piss poor receivers who drop balls all game. I have to pound the ball and pick up minimal yards to get ANY kind of passing game going. You can't just cherry pick what behaviors are "acceptable" and what aren't.

I just lost a game to Tanabeo in which I came back from a 28-3 defecit to pull within 28-25 with 3:00 left, had him at a 3rd and 12, and lost because he went 5 wide (which appeared to be a hail mary play) and then ran it with his absurdly fast QB that my AI players don't react to at all. If I don't catch him with my user player, it's an easy first down. The way the AI handles it, it's a horseshit play (similar to rolling out all the time), but it "fits the players", so it's fine.

I don't think I can play in this league anymore. I wanted to finish the season, but when you run into players who don't even have the balls to run real plays, there's just no point. Why take the time to outlaw QB sneaks, line shifting, going for it on 4th down, etc. if people can abuse the horrible defensive AI and "running to the outside" that results in players that are just faster than everybody else, regardless of what angle you take?

Don't know if this matters but Jets had around 12 more plays than me, TOP is about equal, Jets turned it over two times (Bills none).

Well if this was about the Jets not having enough opportunity...

If he just dashed to the outside as soon as he snapped the ball that is pretty BS. But if he stayed in the pocket long enough it's fair play imo.

It's not a fair play. He pulled that shit on me. It's the Michael Vick cheese play from Madden 04: send everyone deep and then take off.

What's even better is that somehow two of his receivers dove to the ground, clipping my DB's, and completely taking them out of the play. My "Madden Skill Level" just isn't high enough to process how you get that to work. I recorded a video of the play with my phone since saved replays have the shittiest angles and they break the damn website anyway.

Also, what's the policy on quick subbing? He was constantly switching between Mallett and Johnson during his playcall. Mallett was in, then all of a sudden Johnson was in. I understand different players have different skills, but at what point does this shit become garbage?

thats a sweet play right there a qb in the nfl never runs to make the first down michael only has 5002 yards rushing for some reason.

Just a heads up to everyone that has to play me if you see #11 in the backfield in 5 wide 10 times out of 10 im looking to run

Yeah, explain the two illegal blocks by your WRs on the left side of the field then.

Swapping out the quarterback on a play-by-play basis is not allowed. I thought we had brought this up before but it's possible it was only discussed in PMs - I asked Venom to stop doing the same thing with Tebow/Orton.

Tanabeo, please stop doing that. If you want to swap them in and out by series, that's fine, but please refrain from doing it on individual plays.

In the real NFL the defense will see a specific QB coming onto the field and might change their call to adjust - Madden does not give you the opportunity to do so before calling your defensive play. For this reason alone, it's exploitative.

I'm not telling you not to use the players on your roster. But please keep QBs in for entire series, barring injuries, not just single plays (obviously the Wildcat would be an exception).

Josh Johnson is in my 5 wide set all the time its like my wildcat book just like dixon in the other league is in my 5 wide mallett never takes a snap in 5 wide so I dont think im doing anything wrong.
