i think the QB rule against tanabeo is a lil bit too much. I think you can do what you want in terms of your team and getting yourself the best opportunity to win without cheesy plays. He should not be forced to start a player because people find it annoying he is simply trying to win
I don't know how many times I can repeat the explanation. It creates a situation where the offense is given an unfair advantage because of the way Madden playcalling is setup which would not be present in an actual NFL game. I believe it's pretty firmly the right call, and ubernes and I are on the same page here.

Nobody's forcing Tanabeo to change his starter, that's his choice. As we've said, he's also welcome to work Johnson into the Wildcat as much as he wants.

You guys are welcome to voice your displeasure with it, but it's not going to change anything, since as ubernes said the matter is resolved.

What if I pause the game then put johnson in is it ok then it gives you time to say ok he might be changing QBs now im going to call a 3 deep and have my mlb spy. Is it ok then? Thats before the play is called so you know Im switching him out so you now have no excuse when I run with him you didnt know I was going to do it. You get 5 pauses a half so I can do it 10 times a game when I never do it that much but thats how many times I can do it. 5 really if you count that im going to have to pause it and put mallett back in or can I just sneak him in there at the start of the drive and keep him in there utill I throw a pick or fumble it.

If you want to pause the game mid-drive and message your opponent that you're switching QBs and for how many plays the change will be in effect, go right ahead.

If it's the beginning of a drive, you can put in whatever QB you want. If you want each of them to play every other drive, that's fine too, as long as you keep them in there for the whole drive or alert your opponent that you're making a change.

I had my worst game of the season by far against Tanabeo. His CPU players picked off 5 passes, 2 of them inside the red zone. Can't believe I've blown 3 of 6 since starting 4-0.

Sprice, we play next. Tonight I have a hockey game, and then a doubleheader tomorrow. Sunday would be the best day to play. I'll send a PM as well.

There are definitely worse things you can do cheese wise. I wouldn't necessarily call it cheese either because it's easy to stop.

Not being able to see the change before you call your defense though is lame

Off topic but, I really hope everyone was able to catch Game 6 last night. One of the worst games that evolved into one of the greatest games ever played.

But therein lies the rub, doesn't it? If I had been able to see him taking out his "passing QB" on 3rd and long and bringing in his "running QB", would he have called the same play? This is where the video game/real world distinction needs to be made. The Bucs are never going to "sneak" Josh Johnson into the game in real life. Just the idea of it is laughable. If that's the kind of "strategy" somebody needs to win games, we might as well be playing NFL Blitz.

Go Cards!!! It was only right that Freese was the hero after his error... I thought the Rangers would finish the game when they broke the tie
anyone know the whereabouts of pitfallharry?
He posted in here last night, so at the very least he's among the living. I assume you've PMed him already?
anyone know the whereabouts of pitfallharry?
Yeah, I'm around. Sorry for not answering your PM. I can't play tonight, but tomorrow night or Sunday night work for me.

idk about that NFl teams often are caught by qb draws, like when tb tucked it and ran against miami or when john beck tucked it and ran it. You have to be personally aware that he is in the game to run. The bucs have done that in the season already.

Can I make a general request: If people want to contribute to the league-wide discussion on things like this (and I encourage everyone to do so, by all means) can you please inform yourself by reading what's already been said so you can approach it with an actual understanding of what the issue at hand is? Otherwise we keep just rehashing the same thing again and again. Thanks!

Anybody talk to the Rams owner lately? I PM'ed him and didn't get a responce. I probably wont have that much time to play this weekend, being Halloween weekend and all. So I'd like to get in touch with him ASAP.
Bigat when can u play??
Are you going to be around in the next few hours?

Bengals owner, let me know what your schedule is like. I don't think I want to get the game in tonight, but I have a pretty open schedule tomorrow. Though earlier or in the evening is probably the best. Sunday I should be around most of the day too.

Vikings 34, Falcons 21
My team just played like shit. They couldn't block, they couldn't play the pass, and they couldn't stop Toby gerhart despite the fact he ran up the middle and I blitzed everyone UP THE MIDDLE. Just a really frustrating game. Good game superstar, you are definitely better than your record.

I am not going to lie - you scared the hell out of me when you started to mount your come back. I am looking forward to playing with you again sometime!

P.S. - when I was QB kneeling and I called a time out it was by mistake. My dog jumped on my lap and when I was moving her my finger hit the back button, lol.

No harm done, though at the time I paused and was about to quit, mostly because I was frustrated, but then I realized it probably wasn't on purpose so I didn't quit. :)

matt i sent u a pm back.... if ur available anytime today id like to get it in before tomm..... at worst leave me a timeframe ur available tomm so i can work it out instead of guessing and missing eachother

Week 12: Dolphins @ Cowboys

Cowboys: 29
Dolphins: 24

Miami's Defense: 2 Sacks, 1 Interception
Miami's Offense: 236 Yards Passing, 2 TD / 121 Yards Rushing, 1 TD

Cowboys Defense: 1 Interceptions, 2 Sacks, 2 Forced Fumble, 1 Safety, 1 TD
Cowboys Offense: 152 Yards Passing, 1 TD / 87 Rushing Yards, 1 TD

GG Cobra!

And here's the horrible play that cost me the game....
1:20 left in the 4th quarter...24-29..Dolphins driving from their own 20, after Consecutive pass plays for 24 and 28 yards... The dolphins sit on the Cowboys 27 yard line attempting to close the game out.. Here was the bloody result..and NO automatic Challenge, sadly.

I *think* I hit Y again to catch the ball.....and slammed it one too many times..so marshall tried to hurdle....

GG cobra!
LVPatriots: I PMed you back. Suggested either 2 p.m. EST today or tomorrow. Also can do later in the evening.
He's on XBL now, so you should be able to catch him.

Pats-Eagles kicking off now. Pats looking to snap their 3-game losing streak against the last remaining winless team (did I just jinx myself?)
Is it possible to have xblive issues with your online pass? It's saying mine expired or is corrupt.... Wtf
Other people have had the same issue recently. Anybody know how to fix this?

So obnoxious. I found hundreds of posts about the issue online but not a single peep from EA. Typical.

Pacer and I will try later, hopefully it resolves itself (I called my brother who had the same problem, he said it eventually started working again).

It happened to me earlier this week. Going back to the dashboard and reloading the game seemed to fix it. Or just turn your Xbox off and let everything (ie. your connection) reset.
Eh, don't worry about it. I made some plans for tonight, so I guess tomorrow at 9 works for both of us.
cool

Texans beat Jaguars 35-24 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score would indicate. On the upside, Eric Decker had a monster game, 6 catches, 215 yards and 2 TD's, including a 90-yard catch-and-run.

Patriots 28 - Eagles 14

This one was tight throughout, the Eagles are definitely a lot better than their 0-11 record. I jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but then threw a foolish pick six. It was a bubble screen to Ocho and his coverage was backed off, so I ended up holding the ball too long and then his defender charged in and picked it off full speed, easily taking it to the house. My defense was mostly solid all day, though the Eagles put up one good drive in the second quarter to tie the game, also getting the 2nd passing TD of the season against the Pats D.

Brady was 15 of 21 for 171 yards, 1 TD and the aforementioned pick six.
Vick was 8 of 13 for 103 yards, 1 TD and 1 pick.

Peterson carried the load, rushing 20 times for 96 yards and 3 scores (all from the 1).
McCoy rushed 9 times for 35 yards.

Hernandez (in my last Gronk-free game) caught 8 passes for 77 yards and a score, while Welker also had 68 yards.
McCoy's sole 36 yard grab made him the Eagles' leading receiver. Maclin scored the TD.

gg Pacer! Definitely made me sweat more than you thought you would I think. ;) I was in danger of running away with it, but that pick six changed the complexion of the game. You did a nice job keeping it close, though my D clamped down in the 2nd half.

Very nice to break the losing streak and get back on the winning track, Pats move to 7-4.

I get Gronk back next week, though unfortunately I lost Branch for 4 weeks in this one.
