He's 35 right? So maybe one more year? I'm interested in the offers youll get. As with the real NFL, someone will overpay (Carson Palmer anyone?)
34. His age is pretty immaterial, he's not going to retire during the course of this franchise, and he'll be in the high 90s the whole time (he's a 99 overall). QBs don't regress nearly as much as other positions. If people try to trade junk for him because he's not 22, I'm going to laugh them out of the GM's office. :D

Yeah, not like you need to move him lol. Not much of a GOTW. Chiefs still laying the smackdown no matter who the opponent.

The Chiefs behind Jamaal Charles trounced the Bears in Chicago.

Jamaal Charles 28 ATT 277 Yds 2 TDs

Cassel 2 of 4 38 Yds 1 TD.

What is in the water out in KC???

After that emotional 16-12 win over the Patriots, the Chief defense has started showing its true potential.

Following a shutout over Pittsburgh last week, the Chiefs followed it up with an encore performance shutting out the Bears 38-0.

The Chiefs rattled Jay Cutler throughout the day sacking him 3 times and forcing 3 interceptions.

He was knocked out of the game in the second quarter and didn't return until midway through the third.

Caleb Hanie took over for the injured Cutler and went 6 of 8 for 71 yards and 1 interception.

All day long, the Chiefs stuffed the Chicago offense.

Coach Todd Haley talked about their performance.

"I think we're finally starting to get it. The New England D showed us a few things we liked, and we've made the necessary adjustments."

The Chiefs travel to New York next week to take on the 8-3 Jets.

Glad I finally got to play Mog again, one of the guys that had a lot of success against me in Madden 11.

No one answered this clerly so I want to ask again. Is moving your D-Linemen on pre-play snap legal? It doesn't really affect anything but it's just annoying that on every punt return someone moves their D-Linemen up just to have a extra blocker.

I hate when people do this on punts and feel it should be banned, not sure if it actually is or not.

I hate it as well, but I've never seen it actually help someone return a punt for a TD, so I don't really see much of a reason to ban it. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise if enough people really feel it's cheap though.

Mostly I just think it's silly, since it doesn't really have any positive impact.

At the same time, it is legal in the NFL to have more than one player deep on a punt return (often a 2nd return option), whereas Madden doesn't give you that option. For that reason alone, I'm inclined not to ban it.

I could have sworn there is a punt return play where you could have two instead of one, but that might have been in NCAA only so somebody ought to double check that.

Seems useless to me, I've never seen any benefit. The Chiefs do it, in real life, on every punt return so I don't see how we can ban it.

Week 13: Raiders @ Dolphins

Raiders: 40
Dolphins: 31

Miami's Defense: 1 Sacks, 2 Interception,1 Touchdown
Miami's Offense: 93 Yards Passing / 261 Yards Rushing, 3 TD

Raiders Defense: 2 Interceptions, 3 Sacks, 1 Safety, 1 TD
Raiders Offense: 256 Yards Passing, 4 TD / 120 Rushing Yards

In a game where the Dolphins had everything under control After Cameron Wake brought an interception back to the house with 4:53 Left in the 4th.... They were up 31-17... with what looked like a win under their belts..... All they had to do was hold a Injury stricken team to less than 2 scoring possessions and the games over...Alas...

I'm going to quote the Real Life Cameron Wake Here.... (after their loss to the giants yesterday afternoon)

""If this was a 50-minute league, we'd probably be a winning team,'' linebacker Cameron Wake said after a 20-17 loss to the New York Giants."

But sadly, games are 60 minutes and …This was indeed true for the CAG Dolphins as well. The Oakland Raiders would have none of the Hapless Dolphins Defense after putting up 2 Offensive Touchdowns in just under 3 minutes in the closing minutes of the 4th, and another touchdown on the Defensive side from the Rookie CB Chimdi Chekwa(65 ovr, Covering Brandon Marshall. Why didn't Brandon own him;-X)

To Top it all off, in the last ditch effort to save the loss, Matt Moore gets Sacked in his own endzone for a safety as time runs off the Clock.

What a way to end a game.

GG Prez

Injuries:
Raiders:
Chris Johnson, CB, Broken Collarbone, 8 weeks.

Damn you! I would have given you the world's biggest hug if you put away one of the AFC WC contenders (especially after the Bengals already lost).
How in the world is it poor sportsmanship? It doesn't even work
I agree. It's not poor sportsmanship, it's poor football. As a matter of fact it probably just lets another member of the kicking team downfield who would have otherwise been blocked. If people want to do it, no problem, I've never once seen it be remotely effective.

Sometimes I do it just to do it. I don't even think twice about it because it has no positive effect for me.

Charles is 200 yds and 5 TD's away from his season goal. Hopefully I can reach it soon so I can shut him down for the regular season.

He's not winning OPOW this week though. ;)

That's fine. I'd prefer this.

We'll see though.

You know me and stats though, I typically never put up big numbers. I've never won one of those silly XFN awards. AP's put up a big number though, but I still wouldn't be surprised if one of these wacky guys tops it (especially now that I've pointed it out).

Panthers 59

Mike Goodson ran the ball 15 times for 125 yards and 2 TDs. Ryan Torain carried the ball 12 times for 85 yards and a TD. FB Jerome Felton got the first TD of the game on a GL rush. Cam Newton went 7-12 for 120 yards and a TD(G. Olsen). Newton only threw 1 or 2 passes the entire second half. Defensively, rookie CB Brandon Hogan had 2 INTs(1 returned for a TD), Jon Beason had a pick six, and Jordan Pugh had a INT. Pugh also had a sack, along with Greg Hardy and Jon Beason added 1.5 sacks. Sherrod Martin, Chris Gamble, Beason, and Pugh all forced a fumble, and Hogan and Charles Godfrey recovered 1 a piece. Carolina's defense dominated the game and are feeling pretty good about themselves after such a dominating win. GG Tanabeo(loss to u as Minnesota has been avenged lol)

Lol! I might have lost all of my stars but I can't give up. Plus if I make it into the wild card I will have all my players back. My rookies are holding there own. I'm upset I lost that thriller to the bears last week. I could have put him away but I blew my coverage which resulted in a game tieing FG. Got to finish games. But I'm still after it.

I am still without power because of the Nor'Easter. I have been PM-ing my opponent and I'm wondering if allowing him to play the CPU is the best thing. I'm winless, so a sub player may not be fair.

Sucks to hear. I unexpectedly got power back last night (original estimate was Thursday to Friday) and thank god for that. My house was so fucking cold.

Normally I would say a CPU game makes sense, because as you point out there isn't really a completely fair sub considering you're winless. But you're playing the Seahawks, so I'm not sure it would be fair to the other NFC contending teams for him to get a free win at this point in the season. If your power remains out, maybe one of the 1-win guys would make a reasonable sub?

Your guys situation really sucks.

I open to whatever the commish decides. We can wait and see until tomorrow as well, but id rather get it done tonight so people don't get cranky ;)

I can sub for Pacer tonight at 7pmEST. I am not a 1 game winner, but am on a horrible 4 game losing streak(24pf-128pa). Let me know...

Up to staticz I guess, but I don't really think anybody would be a fair sub except for the 1-win or maybe the 2-win teams.

I agree - just wanted to put it out there that I can sub if needed to keep everything going.

A CPU game would be my first preference, it's not like the Eagles team is a slouch with the CPU.

Having me play a sub to make it fair to others is a slippery slope as losing a single game could knock me out of the playoffs too. I guess my list of preferences would be this -

1. Power gets restored and we're able to play.
2. CPU game
3. 1 win sub
4. Some other sub.

The Eagles are a great team on paper so I'm having a hard time with playing someone besides their current owner this late in the season. But if that's what it comes down to then I'll make it happen.

At least with Pacer in there there's a chance of an upset. He came pretty close against me just last week. I don't think anybody believes there's a shot you'd lose to the CPU.

Think of it from the other side: If it's unfair for you to play a slightly better sub this late in the year, it's at least as unfair to the Saints, Falcons, Redskins, etc that you should get a free win this late in the year.

I think siradam would be an ideal candidate if he's available, since he also has only one win. Maybe for every win over 0 the sub has, they have to shotgun 1 beer right before kickoff to even things out? ;)

Hrmmm. I usually drink a couple during the games... You may be on to something!

Quite frankly it doesn't matter. Best case is he gets his power back, otherwise can we arrange for a sub at 9:30 cst tonight?

We're still waiting on 9 other games, so I don't think we're going to be advancing tonight anyway. If you'll have power tomorrow, I say just schedule it for then.
Anyone know the chargers opponent for the week
Jaguars. Their info is in the OP.

Looking at the standings, if the Chiefs beat the Jets and the Patriots win out, the Patriots would win the division because of a better division (and conference) record.

Oh, I'm well aware. He's still also got to play the Giants. ;)

The Cardinals go 0-2 to the Rams for the season in a 20-10 Rams Victory.

Brees (me) played terrible, threw 5 interceptions including a pick six.

Card's Defense played great besides for the Rams final drive.

Goodgame again Worm

Cards will be hiring a new offensive coordinater (me). The old one (me) has been fired

I've already tried that one this season, no luck. I think there's something in our DNA which prevents us from throwing anything less than 3 picks a game in this year's Madden.

If anyone needs any commish stuff from me the rest of the day, send me a PM. I have an appointment with Nathan Drake.

Vince Young's got 0 in the Fantasy League, but I probably just jinxed myself.
