I lucked out (and ditched my coworkers) and got an earlier flight back home on my layover. Best feeling ever btw haha. Anyways not sure where we are in advancing but if we are close and BSETI is around tonight I can get this game in no problem. I should be available after 8:30 I would guess. I haven't had a chance to catch up with the thread, so forgive me on that.
No worries, you didn't miss much. We'll be advancing tomorrow night at the earliest I'd think.

Sorry I haven't been too active over these past few days. I had hockey games Thursday/Friday/Saturday and then had to take my 14 year old dog to the vet and she had to be put to sleep today. I should be resuming a normal schedule starting tomorrow.
With his attributes? Jebus Christ  what blitz are you running that he gets through like that
With those attributes, he could be benefiting greatly from coverage sacks. They could be a boon for a CPU controlled lineman with great block shedding and power moves. I find the CPU does better with power moves than finesse anyways.

Playing against opponents that don't cheese and sprint their QB back 10-15 yards for a normal pass route, there lessens the need for the CPU controlled lineman to have elite speed or acceleration to get to a QB just a few steps away.

If his opponents are going pass first and he can play back and have his coverage hold up for a few seconds, I can see that guy busting through several times a game.

I know some people have done some tests on the importance of speed in this year's Madden for DEs and OLB for blitzing with sims and feel it may not be that critical. Still not quite the same as this scenario, but it could be a factor. 6 times in one game is definitely a ton though.

Not going to have as much time this semester since the bastards want to lock me into night classes because those are the only timeslots available for these major courses.

I'll still be around amigos, though my availability to play these league games will be taking a hit.

Great game KasterDB. The curse of Adrian Peterson (I go for strips too often because that is the only defense I have) still hurts me as I can't let off the left bumper. Though I guess I did get the fumble at the end. Both of us just let a lot of big plays go by though. Unfortunately, I let a few more.
You sure my defense is the one you want to emulate? :D
nope;) and this isn't for a certain upcoming opponent
nope;) and this isn't for a certain upcoming opponent
Heh. Well I use Multi D. Nothing too exotic in there, but it has both 3-4 and 4-3 as well as several flavors of nickel and dime (so basically it's just what the name implies). I run a pretty straightforward scheme, so it works pretty well for me.

If the upcoming opponent is Doom, I actually have a play in there which works pretty well against his running game, though of course I'm not about to publicly divulge it. :D

Sorry to hear, I have been through that same things a couple of times.

Broncos overcome slow start to narrowly beat Browns
--
In a game marred by sloppy play offensively and defensively, the Broncos made enough good plays to escape with a win. On the opening possession, Tim Tebow was picked off, an issue for him this season. The ensuing Browns possession went for a 48 yard touchdown run by HB Nyjee Dyer. Following a Denver field goal, Dyer again burst through the line for a 55 yard score. The next Denver possession got them right back into the game with a 79 yard touchdown of their own by Knowshon Moreno. However, Cleveland was able to march down the field to extend their lead to 21-10. Following a 3 and out, Denver receiver Eddie Royal suffered a devastating broken collarbone injury. After a screen pass to Moreno which led to another Denver score, the defense forced another punt. Steve Breaston took advantage of some overpursuing Browns special teamers to elude tackles and race to the end zone for a 79 yard score [[Achievement Unlocked]]. This return seemed to be the backbreaker, as the Broncos widened their lead with a touchdown to rookie TE Desean Lake near the end of the third quarter. One Prater field goal later, McCoy hit Greg Little in stride for a 42 yard touchdown. After Denver recovered the onside kick, they seemed to be well positioned for a win, running out the clock and in field goal range. Then, stunningly, Moreno fumbled for the first time on the year and Cleveland recovered. This led to Nyjee Dyer breaking through with his fourth score of the game, a 44 yard run, with 1:21 remaining. Cue Tim Tebow magic. Tebow led the Broncos right back down the field, and took a shot deep. On the receiving end of the deep ball was none other than Steve Breaston, for a 42 yard touchdown with :32 seconds to spare. The Browns final comeback attempt was stifled after a Pat Chung pick sealed the Denver win.
STATS:
Browns-
Colt McCoy - 10-22, 181 yds, TD, 2 INT
Nyjee Dyer - 20 atts, 211 yds, 4 TDs
Greg Little - 3 rec, 86 yds, TD

Broncos-
Tim Tebow - 16-25, 372 yds, 3 TDs, 3 INT
Knowshon Moreno - 17 atts, 104 yds, TD; 3 rec, 71 yds, TD
Aaron Hernandez - 6 rec, 110 yds
Steve Breaston - 2 rec, 91 yds, TD; PR TD

Great game UMX. I was sure you were going to destroy me after I was so bad at the beginning, but I was fortunate to get some stops. I'm continuing to be happy with my trade with BV earlier, as Hernandez is a great target, Chung leads my team in tackles and tied for the lead in picks, and the guy I picked with his draft pick has picked up two touchdowns in the last two weeks.
Was hoping to see the patented Tanabeo 4-6 in that game. Would guarantee plenty of yardage to Austin and Bowe.
its on the 4-6 is going to have to hurt the dinosaur

Tanabeo 4-6?! Here I thought I was the only 4-6 guy. Cincy runs it, but not exclusively, same with CLE if I remember correctly.
Multi D has a 46, though I don't use it much.

And guys, it's "46" not "4-6". Y'all need to brush up on your NFL history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/46_defense
Ahem. The 46 isn't as fun as it once was since all the cheesers run it, Madden devs stripped it dry. I still run it though, it is a blast and you can confuse the shit out of defenses if you know how to use it. If you don't, well....you're gunna get burnt.

I'm working on setting a time with the redskins. He actually pm'd me on Sunday and wrote plsy? I had deleted it because I thought it was someone else. I'm fine with a boot, if he wants to play earlier today. I can't sign on till 730-1000 pm est.
When's this Jets/Titans game going down? Huge implications for both teams.
730pm tonight

Edit: and I realize the AFC East is off to a good start so this is a fairly big game if I want to keep up here.
GB didn't get back to us, so it looks like he's made up his mind for good and we will need a new Falcons owner starting next week.
Indeed. We've also got a big tilt coming up next week.

If it's alright with uber, it's alright with me.
Sad to see GB go. I've actually got a bit of a spark again, I may try another new playbook and spread the ball a bit more.
I've heard good things about the saints pb. I haven't tryed it yet though.

I tried that in my game against the Bills. My conclusion: Stick with what works for me. :D

at this point it will be tough to make the playoffs, might as well have some fun. Maybe I'll start passing like Sprice. My rookie TE is more like a WR anyhow.

I'm on my phone so i can't quote easily, but sticking to what works is what makes me lose interest in Madden. I can only run the same ten or fifteen plays for so long.

Week 4 seems a bit premature to be packing it in. By the same token, I'm not printing playoff tickets at 4-0.

haha, definitely not packing it in yet I'm just more willing to change things up a bit. My plan is to go 13-3 and break records.
I'm fine with BSETI's friend or Cheesy. I don't recall Cheesy 100%. Let's just get it filled by tomorrow.
We'll go with BSETI's friend for now since he seems ready to go. I'm sure another spot will open up sooner or later, so we'll keep Cheesy in mind.

Bseti, get him signed up for CAG and post his gamertag, etc. And of course make sure he brushes up on all league rules and asks if he has any questions.

speaking of records....does anyone have stats from previous years (as in Madden 10 and 11)? I'd like to setup a record book of sorts on XFN.

Nope. We had an XFN page last year, but I'm not sure if it's still up (I don't think so). You could look through last year's thread for some awards posts maybe, though obviously those wouldn't be exhaustive. I looked for the Madden 10 thread, but couldn't find it.

I just sent cheesy a text he was in the 2.0 league as the browns.

We're gonna let bseti's friend take them, but he can have the next open team.
