Madden 12 Official CAG League - On official hiatus until Madden 13.

Damn...people are just running from the J-E-T-S, lol. Again this week, I have no opponent. I can probably play late-ish tonight (after 11 PM EST), or I can play any time tomorrow before 9 PM EST...if anybody feels like subbing for the Chargers.

it wouldnt be as bad if i didnt feel like a private investigator tracking people down....thats the only thing even bothering my interestt level.... dunno if lions packers is going to happen... at this point sim dont bother me

Well my friends...I'm kinda at a bit of a dilemma here. I think it's in my best interests to drop out as well...I still enjoy playing the game and would have liked to finished this season, but the thing IS: my Xbox Live Gold membership just expired and this is literally the ONLY game I play on Xbox Live. I have 4 3-month cards sitting around that I haven't redeemed yet so I could use one to finish off this season and then I'd just be wasting it until Madden 13 comes out. Assuming Madden 13 comes out around the same time this year that Madden 12 came out last year, we're looking at almost EXACTLY 3 months from now...so that would basically be a waste of a whole card. If we still had a full and active league at this point then I'd likely go ahead and use one of those cards, but most of us have been playing this long enough to know that this season is pretty much on life support right now. We already have 2 openings, 2 or 3 more people have quit in the last couple days alone, and a lot of the people still left in the league are starting to get more and more apathetic about scheduling their games.

I'll still check in the thread every now and then, but as far as gaming goes....I'll see y'all foolz when Madden 13 comes out!
 
Kinda odd that everybody would bother even committing to another draft if they were just going to bail not even halfway through the season. Could have saved all of us a lot of time.
 
I don't think it's very odd...I'm sure at the time of the draft everyone was 100% committed to another season. People can easily lose interest over the course of 5 or 6 weeks in this game. And does an entire season really have to be played out for one's time to have been well spent playing this game? It doesn't have to be "all or nothing"...I enjoyed this final season quite a bit. I get that it's not ideal but if you don't enjoy playing this game on a week to week basis then it must be pretty miserable just trying to get through each season. The draft was roughly an hour and a half max as well so not a lot of time lost there.

There is a lot of implied risk when signing on for a 5th season considering how long we've been playing this game. I considered any progress we made in this season to be a nice little bonus before we officially call it quits.
 
I don't think it's any great secret that my interest has pretty much vanished as well. Like MA said, there's no premeditation to it.. One day it's there and then the next it's not, that's how Madden fatigue works sometime. I know fero is pretty much in the same boat.

That said, because I'm the commish I do feel responsible for continuing to shepherd the league through its final season, so that's what I plan to do. If everyone wanted to call it quits until Madden 13, I'd be fine with that, but since I know there are a lot of you who want to keep it going through the end of this season, that's what the plan is.
 
Let's take stock of where we are owners-wise:

AFC East - Full
AFC North - 3 teams filled, Ravens (4-1) open
AFC South - Full
AFC West - 1 team filled (Broncos)

NFC East - 3 teams filled, Eagles (3-2) open
NFC North - Full
NFC South - 3 teams filled, Saints (3-2) open
NFC West - Full

So unless I'm forgetting someone (which I probably am), we've still got 26 owners.

As for the open teams, obviously it's pointless to try filling them at this point. What do you guys think we should do with them? The options:

1) Continue with ad hoc subbing as we have been
2) Get permanent subs for each team (if people are interested)
3) CPU games
 
I think we should do cpu games. After this season I'll have to be done until madden 13 i'll be traveling alot this summer.
 
CPU games probably would remove some of the frustration for the members who want to stick it out...though permanent subs would do that as well. Just not sure if you could find anyone who wants a second team. Trying to beg for a sub every week is just taxing. Trying to continue as "normal" as possible and just letting those who want to keep playing ride it out is probably the best course of action.
 
CPU games won't hold up the league at all and permanent subbing is probably too much with the amount of apathy building.

I say CPU games with optional subbing.

Sorry man, I've had a rough few days and have not been online much at all. I was closing in on 40 hours without sleep and I couldn't stay awake for our game, and then I've had a lot going on since. You're right, I haven't contacted you at all. If you want to play a sub or the CPU, that would be fine. It's my fault we haven't played.
 
its cool... if they wanna advance before 10 just sim 1030 i could possibly play if u can or find a sub but will see how i feelni will be oit drinking... either way works
 
we should just allow cpu games and shorten the advance deadline to two days...get this season over with...the only thing holding us up is open teams and owners who dont communicate.

You can sim Cowboys\Eagles if you want. I asked for a sub only once, so it's partly my fault. I'll take the blame. Its been a busy week.

Tanabeo: You're commisioner, advance after you play... to the rest of you, if you can get your game STARTED before 12am EST...you're ok to play...other than that, it's getting simmed.

The saints my need to have someone put a qb on thier team I hurt both his qbs and the punter had to step in at qb my rookie lb I put at DE had 10 sacks maybe we should wait on the cpu games to be put to the last day and bump it up to all madden all pro feels like rookie when you play the cpu

The problem with that is it would also skew the user vs user games. However, a downfall of CPU games in general is there's no safeguard for people who want to just exploit the shit out of EA's poor programming. If you're putting an LB at DE (I'm guessing he's fast as hell), that's probably something EA's programming wasn't prepared to deal with...regardless of the difficulty. But at this point in the franchise, I think the people that are left just want to finish. There's no sense in making things more difficult for the people trying to do the right thing and stick it out (ie. 2 day advance schedule, changing to All-Madden, etc.).

i prefer u keep that punter at qb for my game lol and that lolb u got is a monster i wish i woukd have got him over my tightend

Yea I have been running him at de all year he's like a 96 ovr when you put him there im glad i picked him up im going for def rookie of the year with him and if the punter does stay there he does like to run 4 and 5 wide but he does take about 7 secs to throw and for some reason he is always of his target by about 30 yards
 
I'm not sure who I play because I'm still at work but whoever plays the 49ers can you play today at 5pm I only have a small window of availability due to the holiday. I am posting this from my phone and will check it again around 4 :40 pm
 
Hey Im going to need a sub for this week I am headed out of town at 6pm and won't be back til Wednesday, when we advance Sunday will the next due date to play your game be like Wednesday evening because I will be available wednesday after 6pm est.
