Bills 33
Ravens 27 OT
A very well-played game from both teams. Started out as a defensive battle with a pair of special teams errors highligting the early action. On the Ravens' first drive, 4th and 1 from the 49 yard line, coach Mog tried a fake punt and very nearly got it.
After the failed attempt Buffalo was able to drive into FG range only to have the 46 yard attempt killed by the wind. Both defenses continued to perform in the first half with each team forcing key turnovers, with Baltimore scoring on a pick 6 and Buffalo forcing and recovering a Flacco fumble to go along with a pick.
Going into half, Buffalo led 13-10.
The second half began the Ray Rice show. After effectively slowing a very run-heavy attack in the first half, the Bills had no answer for Rice in the second. The Ravens were dominant for the majority of the second half jumping back on top with 2 unanswered scores to make it 24-13 going into the 4th after a beautifully navigated Ray Rice breakaway TD.
Cameron Czaplewski subsequently got hot and I was able to complete some key throws and have a bit of success with the no huddle to cut the lead to 24-20 (realizing I should've gone for two after that score). The Ravens get it back and proceed to murder the clock and bleed away any chance the Bills seemed to have with some clutch conversions, driving all the way inside the 30 yard line after Buffalo used all its timeouts. The Bills got a clutch stop on 3rd down and forced a FG with 22 seconds to play in the game, down 27-20.
A fair catch of the kickoff left Cameron Czaplewski and the Bills offense with 80+ yards to travel and no timeouts, a TD needed to tie the game. With the Ravens in prevent D on the first couple of downs, CC completed a couple of huge corner routes (and the WR's were able to get out) to cut down on the yardage for the hail-mary. With 10 seconds remaining, CC turned to Avius Allen, who'd already scored twice, for a deep-ball up the left sideline...incomplete. However, Baltimore is called for roughing the passer and breathes life into the Bills chances. With 4 seconds left from barely inside Ravens territory, CJ Spiller beats whomever is the 5th corner for Baltimore to tie the game at 27 and force OT.
On the first play of OT, the Ravens called all-out blitz with no deep help. Devery Henderson cleanly beats Webb off the line and is wide open, Cameron C is crushed as he delivers a perfect pass to Henderson for the game clincher.
Bills move on. Helluva game Mog
