The QB competition in Buffalo is done.

Cameron Czaplewski, will be the starter against the Jets.

He and Fitz duked it out during the preseason with an almost equal number of attempts and CC out classed him in every way. The start of a new way to "Cirlce the Wagons" in Buffalo has begun.

Might be looking to move Roddy White

CTH 92
CIT 91
SPC 88
RTE 94
RLS 92
SPD 92

If it says "Negotiating" that means your offer wasn't good enough, but you'll be able to offer again next week.

In related news, the Broncos opened up their checkbook and showered Joe Haden, Von Miller and Demaryius Thomas with about $200 million. All three commit to the Broncos long term, clearing up a big point of concern for my season.

7year deals? Debating on doing this...everybody else is.
7year deals? Debating on doing this...everybody else is.
6. Though all three are around 25, so it's not quite the same as signing 34 year olds to those deals. Haden and Miller were actually asking for 6, Haden's contract in particular is almost $100M, but with Champ likely to retire I can't really afford to let him walk. Though interestingly, Champ has asked for a new deal too, though I really have a hard time seeing him stick around.

falcons fall to the saints by 7 points well played games the offense came in the first half and the defense came for both in the second this game was back and fourth all game long. feel like i got maddened a little bit in the end Stevie Johnson was open on a medium throw and a linebackers jumped 8 foot and got the game sealing INT. but other than that well played game i thought.

GG Neworlbush cant wait for the next one

Cardinals win their season opener 31-13 behind their defense and special teams. Kescoli had 2 punt return touchdowns and the defense added 3 interceptions. It didn't seem to be helping Miami that they were plague by drops, 7 according to the games count. Gg siradam

Cardinals-

Christian Ponder-8/12 for 223 yards with 2 td and 1 int for a qb rating of 114.6. He also lost a fumble.
Roderick Smith- 1 reception for 72 yards for a touchdown
Marcus Webb(R), Austin Virgil(R) and Patrick Peterson all added ints
Daniel Kescoli- 2 punt returns for 148 yards and 2 tds

Dolphins-

Ryan Tannehill-7/22 for 134 yards with 0 tds and 3 ints for a qb rating of 14.4. He added 10 rush attempts for 25 yards.
Lamar Miller- 6 attempts for 28 yards and 1 td.
Reggie Bush- 1 reception for 47 yards
K'Twon Wilcox(R)- 5 tackles, 4 for a loss, 3 sacks and 1 fumble forced
Rashad Jones added an int and Paul Soliai had the fumble recovery

It was my starting CB Jabari Greer. 87 jumping

Peterson resigned with the cardinals for 6 years 60 million. Ponder resigned for 5 years at less than 3 million per year.

Gg Chetty. That game sucked for the dolphins.. So frustrating watching my open receivers drop beautiful passes. I don't even have anything good to take out of that game considering the two fucking punt return TDs.

Gg chett.

Crazy start to the season with this tight divisional game.

Freeman QBR 86.8 229 yards 3 TD 2 INT not his best performance
Smith 162 yards of 9 ATT and added 2 TD

Vaughn was playing early in the game a lot because Master was on off so much the rest of my D was tired lol but it worked out as he got 2 INT
Chekwa, Bass, and Watson each added an INT Watson taking one to the house.

Newton QBR 68.2 274 yards 4 TD 5 INT also 9 ATT 152 yards running 1 TD

Game was prolonged by the throwing. Forte had less than 5 carries. Rivers had two passing attempts. Even after bleeding clock, the Texans usually started in deep in Bears' territory which led to the scores. I kicked field goals from inside the 5 twice.

deff sounds like the guy should of tried a little harder to kill time.

Denver Broncos 16 - San Diego Chargers 10

The Broncos open their season on the road with a tense and exciting win over the division rival Chargers. The Broncos' futility in the red zone was the story here, as they made it in 3 times but were forced to settle for 2 field goals (and a failed 4th-and-goal conversion on their first drive). The Chargers were able to grab a 10-0 lead before the Broncos rallied for a long FG as time expired in the half. Darren McFadden tied the game soon afterward, and the Broncos were able to add 2 more field goals. However, the Chargers put together a great drive to end it, converting several 3rd and 4th downs to have one chance at the endzone from about the 20 with 1 second left (a play they barely got off) but it fell incomplete after rattling around in the endzone. Hell of a game.

Osweiler was 9 of 11 for 119 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INT.

Hurns was 18 of 28 for 205 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.

McFadden was by far the more effective back in this one, carrying 13 times for 202 yards and a TD. McGahee carried 6 times for only 13 yards, not a strong performance by a guy asking me for a big contract.

Mathews carried 15 times for 80 yards.

Demaryius Thomas had 5 catches for 74 yards, while Eric Decker added 3 for 41 in his return to the Broncos. Vincent Jackson wasn't targeted.

Anton Cooper lead the Chargers with 3 catches for 81 yards and a TD. Gates had 5 for 42.

Von Miller had a big game fresh off his new deal, netting 8 tackles and 3 sacks. My top pick, RE Jaron Archer also picked up his first career sack. Jason McCourty had the key pick off of a deflection by Haden.

The Chargers didn't put up any defensive counting stats, but played a very strong game to hold the Broncos to just 16, especially tightening up in the red zone.

gg nj! Definitely a nail-biter, it'll be good to have some more competition in the division. Already looking forward to our next one.

I get that, and looking at the score I didn't doubt at all that it was the kind of game you're talking about. My main concern is with the 460 yards and 8 TDs, it just seems pretty excessive. I mean, you know you're allowed to put your backup in, right?
by that point, I just went for the record.
That is kind of the problem, man. I'm not going to give you a warning or anything because I know there's no insidious intent there. But now that you've got your record, please don't let something like that happen again.

Fair enough. I still think the score would've been similar had Tate been in. Playing like an NFL coach goes both ways. If you're down 56-0 in the first half, no coach comes out chucking bombs. Pinching the line in when I'm running a stretch play doesn't help either.

I definitely agree that it goes both ways. I don't encourage people to be throwing quixotic bombs down the field when they're down by 8 touchdowns either. :D

It's not like Foster could possibly get any better lol, I say keep let him keep Foster in all game so we don't get TWO superhuman running backs on the Texans!!

No let him keep Foster in all game so he has a chance of being injured lol
Once again great game BV next time I will prevail.
You should, I've never made the playoffs in this league so beating me is typically child's play. I'm surprised you didn't win by 40. ;)

What the hell happened? The CpU cut half the guys I was developing. Can someone please cut P.Taylor as he was my DT. I was developing him an I do want him back.

I am not sure who I play since my internet hasn't been working for a few days now. Suddenlink is coming this morning so hopefully the issue is resolved..
Harris would you mind please giving me back Taylor? I had no idea he would be cut.
I don't mind, I'll drop him later today when I get on Madden. For future reference though, you're responsible for your own roster, the CPU is only going to make cuts if you don't do it yourself. Take this is a useful reminder always to stay on top of your roster. You're fortunate I'm the one who picked him up.

Just to clarify, we're not going to be shuffling rosters because of CPU cuts. I'm dropping him as a courtesy to a new guy in the league, I'm not going to oblige anybody else to do the same. CPU cuts are a risk you run if you don't stay on top of your rosters.

Jags vs Patriots going down. My 55OVR 6th Round QB will be making the start. He seemed really good in practice/preseason. Should be interesting.

Chiefs - 45
Browns - 10

Welp...first game to produce a highlight video and I didn't hit record

Chiefs were dominate in this one scoring 14 points in the first minute of the game thanks to Charles and Eric Berry. After that there wasn't much swinging the Browns way. Manning 8 for 18 with 1 TD and 4 INTs and the Browns running game only managed to gain 35 yards.

35 yards on the ground isn't very good but the Chiefs managed -3 passing yards....yes negative three yards. Luckily Charles was in charge (see what I did there), rushing for 201 yards on 20 carries.

The game ball has to go to Josh Cribbs who was nearly cut after a lackluster preseason. Cribbs ran a punt back for a score and had returned a FG attempt for a 109 yard score!

Defensively Flowers and Berry both had a pair of INTs while rookie OLB Alves led the team with 2 sacks.

GG Mile High! Things just didn't go your way in the beginning and it is always tough to come back from that.
