I'm currently getting Maxim, FHM, Stuff, Tips and Tricks, GamePro, Nintendo Power, and something else I can't remember because I signed up a long time ago but never received an issue...oh well, 6/7 aint bad.
 
Pinnacle, I'm willing to bet that's the first, last, and only time that question will ever be asked in this forum. Something tells me that the demographics of this board don't exactly lend themselves to a hot-bed of conservatism. Or any political thought for that matter.

Having said that, good luck with your request. And if anyone also wants to share a link for a free National Review sub, please do.

Did you pay for Nintendo Power? I've never seen a free deal for them, so theyre the only mag I pay for. If you find a free deal, tell us.
 
Question! I'm too lazy to read all of these posts, but I just got a letter from EGM today saying I need to send 'em the money for my magazines, and I just signed up like 2 weeks ago. Do I keep ignoring the letters or what? I know I'm supposed to wait until its almost the end of the year and cancel...but I didn't realize I was going to be sent invoices the entire time...help me. :?:

i've gotten mine from gamespy, but has anybody gotten the ones from freebizmag or complimentary magazines yet? -.-
 
most of these say that they'll take several weeks.. but if i get billed.. i would be so pissed.. i signed up for one and it said "billed to:" then my info..
 
yes, but its been at least 8 weeks, and the only ones ive gotten are from gamespy; but you cant get billed, you dont give out your CC number...-.-

Edit: Suscribed to some mags at FreeBizMag and Complimentay Magazines and I have never been billed at least not yet
 
Actually, I've been subbed [for free] to Working Mother for about a year now. I'm male, but it does have some interesting/informative articles in it, and my wife occasionally reads it [also we both work and we have a 15 month old, so I guess we're the target demographic.]
Pretty much any magazine I can get for free, I will get [for some reason I just started getting Seventeen]. If I don't read it, or after I read it, I'll take it to my break room at work and share the wealth [we have 250+ people in my office, *someone's* gotta like every magazine I bring in.]
I have gotten many magazines from Freebizmags.
 
Here's a little help in searching for free magazines. First, you whip up Google. Then, you type in something like "free subscription" while making sure that the phrase you're searching for is enclosed in quotation marks. That groups the words so that when you search for them, they must be written together in the page for it to be displayed. If you don't mind some poor results, you could just type in the word free.

But wait! Don't hit enter or click search just yet. After the first part, you type in site:(the site that you want to search). Put in whatever source that gives out free magazines right next to the site: without parentheses. You'll probably get a fair amount of expired offers, but you at least won't have to wait for somebody else to list the links.

If you can't find what you're looking for, try this tip with the actual magazine's site as well.

And who said it had to be magazines that you search for? Try out other free stuff at places that don't dish out just magazines. Even at magazine sites, I've seen free VHS tapes and shirts being offered.

Hopefully this helps. If something like this post has been posted here already, my apologies. I just figure that this would be something worthwhile to waste my first post at this site on.
 
well, can somebody answer my question...has anybody gotten their issues from freebizmag or complimentary magazine? its been more than 8 weeks...

That 6-8 weeks thing isnt engraved in stone. Others including myself had to wait more than the 6-8 weeks timeline. I guess it's because more people want those subs so it takes a while.
 
lmao.. uh.. i just got a bill from EGM for $19.97.. lol i just ordered and it says "we are delighted that you have signed on for EGM and the next issue is on its way to you now. Please take a moment now to send in your payment, so we won't have to remind you again." and it has alot of other crap that i'm not typing out.. and it has the bill attached to the top telling the amount due, the due date [02/03/04] and amount paid [0].. lol hope they dont lose any sleep waiting up for my payment...

o yea is says "SUBSCRIPTION ORDER: 12 Issues - Electronic Gaming Monthly" .. and i made sure that all the ones i signed up for were free.. anybody else get a letter like this?

Oh crap. I signed up for EGM two weeks ago. Hope I don't get a bill too, asking for payment.

i'm not really worried about it.. i'm not paying anywayz. I just hope that i get atleast ONE issue.. now i gotta sit back and wait for the other magazine companies to send me bills lmao

i signed up for like alot of em a week or two ago..

i'm not exactly sure when, but i know it was 2 weeks ago at the most.. i'm thinkin it was like last week though.. and i made sure all things i signed up for said free.. i might have accidentally signed up twice or something, but i still doubt i would get billed for that.

I just got one today, I came on to warn everyone about it. I hope I can straighten this out, and get it for free. Does anyone know their customer help phone number, so I can try and get out of paying.
(Their website Customer support isnt loading for me)
 
yea i'm not really worried about paying, b/c i'm not gonna pay no matter what they say/do.. cause they cant really make me.. mwuhahaha. i just wanna get a magazine or two :cry:

Yea, I posted about this just a page back. They sent that same bill to my house. I had subscribed 7 weeks ago though, and the bill came pretty recently, so I guess I'm much more low priority than the rest of you guys who got it 2 weeks after you subscribed :wink:
 
I got on to the website and sent them a letter, and with it a link to the free magazine page. Hopefully I can get out of this without having to pay. I suggest all who want to get the subscription do it now, as they might take down the page soon.
 
they sent me a response email asking if i wanted to cancle the "trial subscription".. which confused me..

so i sent them an email that said "i signed up for this.. [link here].. which is a free 12 month subscription to EGM. When i signed up for it, i got a bill in the mail. I do want the 12 month subscription, but i would like it for free like the ad says."

^thats not the exact wording of what i said but thats pretty much so what i said. i'm sure i'll get another email soon. [hope i didnt sound like a smartass in my em ail lol.. that wouldnt turn out good]
 
I dont expect a response before monday, even though they say 2-3 business days. I really dont wanna pay for this. The only mag I pay for is Nintendo Power, and thats just because I wannna show my support for "N"
 
Ok, they sent me an email back, but it's totaly useless. They obviously use some sort of automated response thing.

They sent me this:

I think they're still sending me a years worth of magazines, but I'm not paying. I'm going to take a screenshot of the webpage, and mail it to myself, and leave it sealed so I can have proof that I should get it for free.
I'll just keep the subscription, but not pay.
 
I think I signed up for EGM, but I'm not sure if I did. Did anyone get an email confirming subscription?

On a seperate note, I have subscribed to things like this before where they send you a bill, and I just didn't answer for a while, so they decided to get a bill collection company to prosecute me. ](*,) It would be a good idea to cancel your subscription before it comes to that because it took a lot of talking to get out of that.

Also, does anyone know any free magazine subscriptions for car magazines?
 
Well after all this bad news about these EGM bills you all are getting...just wanted to report I got my first issue of PSM today, after signing up for it around 4 weeks ago I believe. Coolness.
 
I am fairly sure that if you do not give your credit card to any company and they start sending you magazines and demand you pay them for a subscription you don’t have to do jack sh*t.

Let me further explain, according to every law I have ever heard and every thing I have ever heard from people if you get sent things in the mail they are yours, you do not have to pay for them. I believe it is so that companies don’t send you items in the mail demanding you either return the items or pay them money. We would be constantly harassed otherwise.

If a company sends you a few free magazines and demands money I say just throw out the notices. If they do not have your credit card number they can not do anything. If it is worth the effort you could bother trying to get them to honor the free subscription but that will take a lot of time and effort on your part I believe. I think you should just count yourself lucky that you got a magazine or two free and don’t give up on the free magazine subscriptions. Eventually you will find one that works. Don’t bother trying to cancel your order or anything that requires effort on your part. The ball is defiantly in their court.

Please don't give people your advice on this matter any furter, it will hurt them in the future.
They can send you to a collection agency, who will in turn send you a bad credit rating. Do not ever-ever-ever ignore bill notices. Get them resolved by either paying it or calling the company to get it worked out.
