Are you guys sure that the TRC deal is good? I mean, look what it says:

A ONE-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION WITH YOUR PURCHASE!

As a special Thank You bonus, included with your purchase today is your choice of one of the following magazines: PC Magazine, Computer Gaming World (without CD-ROM), Electronic Gaming Monthly, or Computer Shopper. Complete the information below and your first issue of the title you select will arrive in 6-8 weeks.

There are no strings attached...This is not a trial offer...The one-year subscription is already paid for and your credit card will never be charged for future renewals.

This is simply our way of showing our appreciation. Enjoy!

TRC

First off, it says "included with your purchase" even though I didn't purchase anything.
Second, it says "showing our appreciation" even though i've never even heard of them before.
Third, look what it says at the bottom:

Offers presented by Click4Mags© are available by direct invitation only. We do not allow unauthorized links to our site. Penalties to the link host exist for requests that are claimed by any visitor that has linked to Click4Mags© through an unauthorized link. Click4Mags.com© 2001

Is this an authorized link? If not, it says that penalties will exist for "requests claimed by any visitor " who got there through an unauthorized link. I really don't think this is safe...

What do you guys think?

i started getting gamepro a few months ago. i also started getting sporting news last week. i have also been getting official xbox mag for a few months. i just subscribed to egm, and a few others. :D

I just subscribed to EGM. Last time I got a free subsription to that, it took 4 months to get my first issue. I hope it doesn't take that long this time.

Like someone else said.If I don't cancel after my free sub. are they going to start sending me another year for like double what it normally cost?I already get a letter every 3 months to sign up for another mag cuz I got on the EB GMR pre-owned game deal.

So how "risk free with no obligation" is this latest EGM offer? I used to subscribe to EGM years ago and I'd love to have it again, but I'm a little bit leery.

100%
I am currently enjoying my free subscription, that I got last year from this very offer.
You don't give them any credit card info...only your name, email and address.
I wonder if mine is running out soon...I guess I should subscribe again.

Thanks, Cheapy :) Now I have the warm fuzzies and a subscription to EGM.
Hmm...I wonder if I sign up for this, they will add the 12 months on to my current subscription?
I'm wondering the same thing. I went ahead and signed up for it. The worst that can happen is I get an email saying it's only for new people. Hopefully, they'll add it to what I've already paid for though.
Do these type of subscription things give you a lot of junk mail? (real, not email)
So far I get a small amount of spam, but the only things the postman brings are PSM, LamePro, Maxim, Stuff, Tips & Tricks, The Sporting News, Software Developer, Wireless Developer, and possibly one other, I've started to get too many ;)
cool, is the software developer link dead? cuz if not, that is one that i would like
I'd suggest going over to freebizmag.com, be honest and see if you qualify for it. It wasn't a direct link, but one of those that I actually was offered because of the credentials I entered.
Cant get the Blender link to work. Does it work for anyone else?
it worked for me. first time.

:( Anti-Deal. I'm pissed.

Official Xbox mag lets you order a sub from their site for $24.95, which can't be beat that I've seen on a sub with the disc. Its still that price on the site.

Well, they charged me $29.95 which just happens to be the "standard" price you get if you use the cards you get with an Xbox and in the magazine.

So it stinks. And on top of that there is no way to just e-mail their customer service and the 888 number on the charge on my CC that is only a month old is disconnected.

I thought I was watching my CC statements and I almost missed this one.

be aware.. you will have to call later to cancel these mag after one year of free sub..

really? o great, thats gona be a loot of phone calls...
My parents were pretty mad when Maxim and Stuff came the other day. Oh well, I could not give a damn what they think. They keep on calling me a little perv. I'm even 18.
this would also happen to me too if i get Maxim and stuff, which is why im not getting them ( even tho i want to  ) i cant get the mail becuz they come when im in school, which is sucks

This is why I read my dad's copies. :D

You think he'd have found a better hiding spot by now...

I just recently signed up for Blender, EGM, Game Pro, and PC Gaming magazines. Are there any links that aren't dead for a free PSM subscription or OXM? I really hope I'm not going to be billed for any of this after a year. Does any one know if you have to call and cancel?
You have to call their company and cancel your subscription, but in the mean time, enjoy your mags!
Which magazine is that for?

well they cant really when you didnt give them the credit card info or something like that. most of the mags listed dont ask for it so no worry

all the ones you subscribed to, once your subscription is up cancel it or they will send you a bill the following month...no biggie though, once your subscription is almost up they send you a reminder and advise you to subscribe again, but then again some of them dont so becareful and be aware when your mags are done.

They won't send you a bill, they'll just stop sending you anything. They can't do anything because they didn't get a credit card number or anything. You'll just get a reminder that your subscription is close to or is up.

Eh, I usually get home first, except for when my dad takes a day off...$%@#$%@#$%
o well, if I dont get my maxim, i'll know where to look...=P

Mrow. Few things.

Firstly, I have on previous occasions gotten free years or two of magazines, and no, they don't charge you when your subscription runs out. Not in my experience, anyway. They send you a note to renew your subscription, and plenty of "THIS IS ALMOST YOUR LAST ISSUE OMG RENEW!!!!!!" but I've never gotten a bill. When it's done, it's done. No worries. Even if they did, they wouldn't automatically charge you- (how could they?), you'd get a note that would remind you to cancel or pay to renew, simple enough, but again, I've never had to do this. But at no time are you charged for your free year, either. No surprise bills, just free magazines, cuz they're cool like that.

Also, if you want to renew your year, and they don't allow you another year free, just sign up at another free link, change your name (even a little) and you'll get it again. Probably a bit unethical, but so are the prices they charge for stuff that ends up as bathroom reading material. ^_~

Also, I know it's not *free*, but this site has a crapload of magazines for ridiculously cheap. Lots of magazines for $2.99 (like Honey! It's like, crackwhore magazine or something), and most of their other subscriptions are WAY under normal rates too. I have ordered from this site before (paid $18 for a typically $80-a-year mag) and received it in roughly 4 weeks, so it's a legit site.)

This is a link to the $2.99 section, but there's plenty more for $4.97 and up.

And that's about it. Yup.

Thats a good idea, but i dont like the idea ofgiving cc#s to third parties...cuz thats just me....even if the OXM is only 2.95...
