Thanks for the advice. I held out and just bought a 2-year subscription to Game Informer for $7.94. Also, I bought a 2-year subscription to PSM for $6.95. I e-mailed one magazine seller and asked if he has any subscriptions to Hardcore Gamer. That magazine is fairly new so I don't know if there is a cheap subscription for the magazine. Are there any other good U.S. videogame magazines? I already subscribe to EGM and OPM for free, Nintendo Power and I just ordered Game Informer and PSM. The only other good U.S. magazine I know that is left is Hardcore Gamer.

I got a letter in the mail today from one "North Shore Agency, Inc".

"Your debt to PLAYSTATION in the amount of $12.00 has been referred to this professional collection agency.

Resolve this matter to prevent further collection efforts and remove your name as a delinquent account on our client's records.

Mail your payment to....(balhblahablah).

THIS IS AN ATTEMPT TO COLLECT A DEBT AND ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE USED FOR THAT PURPOSE."

...Wtf? Playstation magazine saying I owe them money? I don't even get magazines from them. I'm pretty confused, but I think it has something to do with me signing up for free mags from the Free Stuff forum. Any ideas as to what I should do or has anyone got one of these letters? I'll probably just call them tommorow and give em' a peice of my mind >:O.
 
Definitely call them and see what's up. If it is magazine related you should tell them about the "free" offer and where that gets you.

Keep us updated though. I'd hate for some of these magazines to come back and bite me in the ass.

Yea that sucks, how long have you been signing up for free mags? I've been getting these offers for years (including PS mag), and I haven't encountered anything like that. Definitely give them a call, and finf out what's goin' on, especially since you don't get that magazine, could be a scam.

Did you ever subscribe to their magazine using a discount magazine subscription website? Sometimes those sites will offer subs for like $8 for a year, then they'll automatically renew it.
Did you ever sign up for a trial issue? Sometimes they'll offer those, and you have to cancel after that issue or they'll automatically charge you for a subscription.
It may just be a ploy to get you to resubscribe. I never read all the "bills" for all my magazines, so I wouldn't know.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any free subscribiton links to any Science Mags. I know I already got one (seed I think) but am wondering if anyone has any others.
 
Yay EGM. They finally cought up on my subscription. Last month they sent me the June and July copy. Yesterday I got August and September, and today I got October!! I love this thread.

Popular Science offers came up quite a bit like 2 years ago, but I haven't seen one since. Seed is a great magazine though, especially if your a science nerd.
