what game do you think is more worth my $50? Makai Kingdom or Stella Deus.
I like strategy rpgs, i enjoyed disgaea. which would be worth my while?

Definitely Makai Kingdom. I've got both, and Makai Kingdom is definitely better. Stella Deus will probably be more rare/valuable in the future though :p

I havn't played either yet..

Damn NIS & Atlus is taking all my money away...

I just finally got these within 3 months: Nocture, Disgaea, Digital Devil Saga, & Phatom Brave

Still need to find: Stella Deus, Makai Kingdom, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana & Rivera
i enjoyed disgaea.
MK took a lot of elements from Disgea (and Phantom Brave) so it seems like a good idea. Stella Deus is also good but it is bit different from the NIS games.

I have not played Makai Kingdom, but I will say this: Stella Deus is horrible. HORRIBLE. While there are literally dozens of gripes, both minor and major, I could drone on about, here's a telling sample of what to expect.
Enemies have a ridiculously small field of view, like only as far as they can move in a single turn in most cases. This being so, if you ever find yourself on a ledge above an enemy or group of enemies, what will often occur is that they will be unable to figure out that to get to you, they have move over to a set if stairs or some such. So what do they do? Run back and forth on the ground. That's it. Turn after turn they'll just skitter about while you rain arrows/magic/whatever down on them. You literally have to lead them to the means of getting to you by moving your party members over to it if you want to use melee attacks on them.
Also, the battlefields are remarkably flat, not because they lack varied elevation, but rather because it doesn't matter as much as it should. An archer standing flush against a 30 foot wall can still shoot at a character standing on top of it. Many special attacks, even hand to hand special attacks, ignore height up to an unnecessary degree, so you'll be able to do your little sword rush or whatever to enemies far above/below you just because they happen to be within 2 squares. Might as well have just had perfectly flat battlefields with networks of fences or something, it would have served the same purpose and wouldn't have looked as retarded.
Blah, I could go on and on, and this is coming from someone who has a remarkably low threshold of enjoyment. In general, if a game doesn't, y'know, punch me in the face or steal my money, I'll continue to play it, but Stella Deus managed to drive me away. Knowing what I do now, I wouldn't spend $5 on it, let alone $50.

i ended up getting both. I did a trade in deal (i traded in Project snowblind[9.99 CC] and mvp baseball 2005 [bought with money from penny guides] to get makai kingdom and used some giftcards i had to get stella deus.

I am pretty sure Stella was NOT developed by NIS. Makai is developed by NIS.

Explains why Stella looks nothing like and takes none of the characteristics from the other NIS games.

Stella Deus was developed and published by Atlus. Makai Kingdom was developed and published by NIS.

Anyway, even though you got both, I seem to be the only one who chose Stella Deus. Being published by Atlus means that it, like Disgaea, Nocturne, Rhapsody, etc, it will most likely be crazily rare later on and will sell for crazy amounts like those 3 do. Makai Kingdom will probably just end up like Phantom Brave and fall to $20 pretty quickly.

but what good is a "rare" game if it is not fun to play? After all, that is the point of a game, enjoy and have fun with, no?

I'd still rather have Makai Kingdom.

I completely agree ,I find it pointless to own a game just because of its value, thats what Ebay is for :) let someone else cherish it

Good point. We can all remember a certain "rare" game called Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout. I'm sure that was a fun game.

after 6 hours or so of each, I find both of them Lacking and boring. They would be wonderful finds around 20 BUT i dont think i would ever give 50 for either
