I was calculated it and I spent on average about 500 per match (looking at how many times I skipped and the fact that I would nearly max out each boost for every turn) in the initial Lazy Thor reward tournament....

So without the OBW healing now, I kind of like the game more.

It is forcing me to play it in smaller intervals since I can't essentially keep playing non stop if I wanted to and by piecing it up a bit more like this it feels less like a chore like it had started to feel like.

Granted I am sure the lackluster rewards at the moment are attributing to this feeling as well but overall I see the OBW change as a positive in terms of how I feel toward the game at least.
with the lack in benefits of the heal, Need to wait longer for heals and regen.

 
This new tournament would offer a Blue Doom...

I have since given up on having him maxed at 5/5 for a while now anyway haha. Though really 2 Blues would be pretty awesome and make him 5/3 and actually usable for me...

I really dont want to deal with the tournament though.. I will try to hop in with like 5 hours left and sneak a Blue reward. Then be super stoked if we get the Blue as an Alliance. Many of us seem to have a fairly highly leveled if not maxed out Punisher so this one should not be too hard but at the same time I bet TONS of people have maxed ones so I will likely see nothing less than 212, 141, 141 as usual.

 
I had 20k ISO saved and literally just spent it between Hulk and BP... son of a bitch. I could have pushed Thor up higher instead. Dammit. Did we know this was going to happen?!?
This is a great way to get people sharks to buy more iso. Chriminies. When will the greed ever end?

All the info is there. They plan on implementing it this week.

Going from 40 -> 41 will cost the same as 15 -> 16 and it will be retroactive. So I should be getting a 55 She Hulk soon. That would seem then that our 141 characters will automatically change to 166. Interesting.

They are saying that it is to help make the rewards more immediately usable and to help people transitioning from one tier to another.

I do not see that many downsides really. It seems like EVERYTHING will just be a bit more powerful as if everyone was slightly boosted.

I dont see the level cap raised at the moment. Do we know when it is to go into effect?

This should also effect our characters that arent maxed because each cover should essentially raise a slightly larger amount for the soft caps since the powers are still limited to 13.

Also if the base is raised how does that effect the characters we already have?

Will She Hulk get raised to a higher level than 40? She is at 30 now but already was at a base of 15. Does that mean I get a 55 She Hulk?

Also, are we for sure this change is actually happening?

We're currently planning on making a change (likely during the week of 7/1) to alter the starting levels of each of the rarities of characters past 1*. The max levels will be shifted according to this same amount, making the new top ends change accordingly. Characters will automatically shift the number of current levels equivalent to their rarity. This change will be retroactive, so all characters in the game will automatically be adjusted to the new levels. These changes are intended to make gaining a brand new rarer character immediately useful for those players topped out or transitioning from one rarity level to another.

Well, I guess it would be nice to level up my 85 characters some more......

Then again, it's not like I'm just sitting on piles of ISO wondering what to do with it. I usually spend it soon as I get it.

It appears that since it is retroactive that if they are already maxed out, they will continue to be at the new cap so no actual leveling needed. For us that have characters hihgly leveled already it seems like we are just going to have essentially 'boosted' versions of them as the norm.

 
I wonder if they are planning on lowering the cost of ISO to level up? if you spend 100k to level to 85 but now the max lvl is 94, does it still cost 100k?

They said it all costs the same

"Characters will automatically shift the number of current levels equivalent to their rarity. Yeah, since they are boosting characters that are already leveled, is it going to be beneficial to boost them before the raise?

 
I think it is more of a retention thing. By allowing users to have stronger characters when they get them they feel like they are gaining more and can more evenly compete.

I dont think they see this as a direct revenue stream of a change but one that will hold more users which in the end should bring in more money because like stated, it is more of a scaling thing.

I'm guessing there's not much gain for leveling before the change, since it sounds like the ISO cost to add a level to any character will be the same after the shift.

As for other characters, Void and Iron Patriot are a little off still. I know we've got Normy's art done, but unless someone was ninja-designing, his moves aren't ready yet. We've got another X-Men coming somewhat soon, as well as another 2* (!) character to give a break from the 3* rush that has happened recently. Other than that, we've got some others that are starting into the pipe but not far enough along (or that I'm allowed to) tease.

I know she still has extra damage & stealing, but I dont really know how to play her anymore. Her temp healing, or shielding, or however you look at it, seems pointless now. I played her in the Heroic event & though well her blue extends countdown tiles, so I guess theres that.

Level caps and changes are just more; "We shouldve done this a long time ago, but we screwed up in other places, so lets fix this now to get their mind off that."

Yeah OBW still does more damage with blue and purple matches than my Thor does with Red and Green so she still is perfectly viable for matching purposes. Plus the stealing is always helpful. I do agree though that her blue seems silly now. It could be in handy in dire situations to win the match but I am so accustomed to saving up all my blues and healing at the very end anyway and so I never use it now other than to alter countdown tiles. I think to make the change less of a blow they should perhaps lower the amount that she heals max but increase the length it adds to countdown tiles. OR make it have a Hood effect where it adds to the enemy ones by 2 or whatever but reduces hero ones by 1. I feel that would make her too good though and at that point they might as well make a Lazy OBW then haha.

Used to save her blues too but now I will hit that whenever it fills. She is still very useful especially teamed up with Ares. The heals were a perk, reducing downtime.

 
If I put in a tank team in the Army of One event, can I play in the Season 3 event without affecting my MMR?
Probably not. From what I've noticed, it's a universal MMR. You would have to be losing more in Ao1 than winning in the Simulator to keep lowering it.

If I enter the battle with 6k, I can't leave the battle with health higher than 6k. But dmgs in the battle are counted against the "fake" heal or the 6k in health.

Here's a scenerio,

enter battle with 6k, fight fight fight, health is down to 4k, health, fight fight fight, wins but health is at 5k. I would assume I would leave the battle with 4k.

 
I can't believe I'm in the top 10 (nearly top 5) for the Punisher event. Must have lucked out with a beginner's bracket or something. Only 85 teams so far. Punisher seems to be doing most of the attacking/damage.

Using Mags or Thor/Hulk as side characters. Thor hardly seems to do much anymore, I can go a whole round without using any of his skills.

I am hoping I get in a solid one myself!

I still havent even started the event yet but with my effed MMR it is difficult in any tournament at the moment.

I almost leveled my Punisher up more (he is power maxed but only at 80 at the moment) but I decided to focus on Hulk and boost him up more instead. Either way I would really like the rewards for this one to make Doom usable. Plus I have a feeling the reward for the upcoming Doom tournament then will be another Villain which I could really use any of them whether it is Mags, Hood, Rag or Loki.... especially a Purple freaking Mags already. I am itching to spend all of my saved HP and I would gladly do so on Mags if I could ever at least get his purple move!! Ugh!

From what I've noticed, your scenario is correct. Temporary health gets used before real health.

As for MMR, I read something that Lightning Rounds do not appear to affect MMR as much as other types of PvP. So, if you're looking to play without worrying about MMR impact, that might be the place.

Damage in battle comes off fake health first, if you have any, then real health. You have to have the fake health when you take the damage to preserve your real health. So in your scenario, you would leave with 4k.

tanking helps. Just get in around 3 hrs before ending and you can snipe yourself in the upper 20 easily.

 
I don't know if there's anything to it, but this week it's seemed like the more time I spend playing 2* chars (OBW & Wolvie) in the PvE, the more reasonable my PvP matchups get.

Also, whenever I see walls of 141s in PvP, I just keep losing battles using my 1*s until the skips produce some more reasonable matches.   But then I don't think I've been stuck in the real MMR hell that others have seen yet.

Last minute push up to 675 points giving me 22nd place.  Hopefully it'll net me the 2 Doom covers.  Time to work on the Heroic event.

Glad to see the Doom event will produce SheHulk covers.  Not owning one has made the PvE really frustrating!

 
I am done right now with the PvP.

Nothing but 212/141/141 teams makes any progress impossible.

I only mildly have been paying attention to how the best way to tank now is.

Could one of you guys like DS or Koju and stuff who were discussing it at great lengths before please give a super quick recap of what way is best?

I really wish I could compete in this Doom one to get She Hulk but the way my MMR is I dont know how!

So I figured out this fakey healing, yeah that only pertains to a real live actual human player. As far as the computer AI goes, healing is fine and dandy on their side. No shields, no fake healing, they just outright get a prolonged lease on life and a extension to the battle. When the battle is over, that defending team gets all their health back and defends against another attack. While having OBW on their team they get a "health" benefit. No temp on their side. I was just thinking this. The realization of it all is that it nerfed most healers for the player, but thats about it.

As for tanking, I say the easiest thing to do is play "normal". When I say that, I guess its a combination of roster wipes, retreating, tank teams, and actually winning. The computer has gotten to the point it knows when you're trying to tank. I roster wiped my 1&2*s until all I had were 3*s left. That didnt do anything. I took what 3*s i had and retreated, retreated, retreated until they were mostly dead. It wasnt until I won maybe 1/10 battles where I noticed a difference.

So long story short if you dont have any more skips & cant find a decent team, then fight the 212/141/141 with the lvl 23 featured character & 2 lvl 1 1*'s (or whatever your lowest characters are). Actually try to fight, if you just sit there and take it I dont think it does as much. Issue is, there is no quick way. Also play time may factor in. Play less and the computer adjusts. Thats all the tips I have, I went into the Punisher tournament last night & was getting 40 points a piece off lvl 85 Storm/Magneto teams. Easy pickings to be sure, but you have to tank a couple tournaments before it kicks in.

I didn't shield myself overnight and ended up dropping from 7th to 12th. I still get two covers either way so I'm pretty happy with it.

Some of my nodes in the Rooftop event are given 2500, so I'll take those down later.

It does and it doesnt. Like some of the menus are so made for a touchscreen device that its horrible using the mouse.

When you play both versions the steam version is not as intuitive. Such as battle screens. I really get confused on who can use what powers when. Im so used to the mobile version where you can see the power bars rise on each specific power. Steam you have to click each tab to see who can use what. Only when a specific character has a useable skill then their icon lights up. Im confusing myself trying to explain it.

Ah lame. Yeah I bet the actual game is more difficult. I originally played the first PQ on the PSP but then PQ2 on the DS and having the touch screen made it feel perfect. After that any sort of Bejeweled gameplay just feels wrong without a touch screen.
