I hit the Deadpool progression reward this morning.  Looking at the event timer, it looks like one more event before the end.  I don't think I'll get that Devil Dino, maybe the Anniversary token if I'm lucky.  I'm also at 21k for the Venom event, so I should be able to get GSBW.  I used some of my Iso to level her since she's boosted.  She's great, especially paired with 2 star Hawkeye with 5 in Speed Shot, but her powers take so much to use. 

Looks like we have a few people slacking on the Venom event, one hasn't even started yet.  :whistle2:

Her red is useless and only gets used if I randomly collect enough red and don't have anything else to use it for, so I don't factor in the cost for that. Green is super expensive, but not unreachably so. Purple is where she shines, because unlike every other green generator, you can put them where you want, and at max covers, you're placing a crazy amount. You can usually find enough green on the board to make two match fives, but you can also make match fours (or sixes) to laser enemy special tiles. Put Hulk and/or Thor for more green generation, and you cut into that 19 cost quicker than, say, the super expensive IM40 powers.

I've stopped believing she's the best character in the game, but she still gets heavy rotation matched with Hulk. If they ever make a LazyHawkeye based on his 2* version, that would be a great trio. As it is, GSBW is too much of a glass cannon to match with a lower health 2* for a defense team. Should be able to test that theory with Balance of Power later today, though.

I started this morning on my train ride!! hahah that was my plan : P I already am back at not being on the bottom, I am 5th from the bottom! haha

I literally can only use GSBW, Stormhawk and Beast and it really isnt a TERRIBLE team except the fact that there is very little outright damage dealing. Every time I am forced to use GSBW I am like, 'oh shit I freaking love her!!!' and then when the event is over I forget hahah. But oh shit I freaking love her! hahah Too bad mine is terribly covered at only 3/1/1. Looks like her ideal build is 5/3/5? I really want to start getting her up now but I need covers and am tempted to just buy some for her... though that is what I planned to do for LDaken... thoughts?

AND GUESS WHO STILL HASNT GOTTEN ANYTHING OVER A 2* FROM THE DAMN ANNIE TOKENS?!?!? asdofhaskldjfh UGH.

The only build is 5/3/5. Red is that bad in comparison.

GSBW is one of the characters that really benefits from extra covers beyond damage, so there is value in getting more. Additionally, since she has been in recent rewards, it'll be a while until she circles back around. That being said, it's hard to recommend outright buying covers when roster slots are so much more valuable.

I'm at 1/2/4 with a level cap of 91 right now. So, 1/2/5 once I hit the progression reward. I can also use the blue Steve covers, so if we can pull off top #100 as an alliance (#102 right now), he'll be 3/4/4 for me (3/4/2 right now).

Might have to boot Nglmna, not doing much in either event.

But I rarely buy roster slots since I already have all the characters and I refuse to keep anything less than 3* other than OBW. I clearly am not getting a Barney so I dont need to worry about that for another 100 days when he is a progression reward (speaking of lovely Punisher is my next reward, awesome hah). Plus my slots only cost 400 right now and at most we need like one slot a month, which at only 400 HP we get that easily in a month through all the events.

Dude has a horrible roster. I'm going to boot him right now.

EDIT: I keep adding points in combined arms by not even playing. People keep thinking they can handle my lvl 1 (but fully spec'd) IM35, Maxed OBW and 153 Pun. (101, 194, 253 for this event, respectively)

Combined Arms I just played a quick three matches and landed #42. Patch absolutely destroys when boosted I love it.

I am not sure who I will be running with Balance of Power. I am Thinking Patch, OBW and Hood would be a deadly combo.

 
Got the deadpool progression reward last night. My first black cover for him.  Finished 39 in the combined arms. Good for 2000 ISO. I'll put it into Steve and Falcon. They both could really use a boost. Rags cover I'll definately sell.

Classic Magneto is the reward is the balance of power. eh. I still like using my two star version. His red is one of the most powerful two star moves for that color.

Between my Ares (4000 damage with yellow) and the Juggernaut i was forced to use (3600 red), with a few strike tiles placed with Psylocke I could take down even the 200 level Hulks with a few turns.

Oh, the high end players figured it out. My last two hundred points were Sentry, OBW and either Juggernaut or Storm. That team is all about getting yellow as fast as possible, then use OBW match damage. It only hit me once and destroyed my team.

Still, got tenth place, and only need about 800 points for the Anniversary ten pack.

And I can finally get my third Magneto power with a top 100 placement? Happy Anniversary!

I think up to about 300 I'll experiment with different teams, but I need to figure out the best defense team for the final day or so. Probably Hulk, Juggernaut and Thor/Sentry, but Hood or OBW would mess with AP better.
 
I won my match, but I just got boned. Let me break it down...

I'm running with Colossus, Patch, and Spidey. Played through 2 matches, and the only one taking any damage is Colossus. Tanking him, with Spidey's protect tiles, and this seems to be like a team that can last. Anywho, 3rd match, have the opposing team down to Shulk, at max health. I have a Colossus' yellow out there, so he's taking the heat, a full supplement of black, and 1 green short of enough for Berserker Rage. So I get Patch up in the air, make a green match so I have enough for BR when he lands, and match a couple more purple. He lands, sets off Berserker Rage, then I go to throw it again... and no green! I'm wondering what the heck happened, since the fastball is no cost! Then I realize... Shulk used Reprieve. And of course it hit my green supply. 

Anyway, I still won, but took two turns more of Patch's opponent strike tile damage because of it. Lawyer whore.

 
I know no one in here is playing it yet, but when you do, are you getting anyone but the seed teams? I beat them, and then they pop right back into the rotation.

Also, Devil Dino is stupid. His attacks are very minimally tied to his level. A level 70 DD with 3 red deals 5** damage, while a level 270 DD with the same covers does 10**. That 19k health means nothing when that's his only bright spot.

 
So that was fun. New tires and an oil change for my truck. Since I was at Walmart, got a haircut and looked at crap. Totally forgot there were events to play. Then poof, truck was ready, thats life.....

Yeah Im one of those people. I only had an IM35: Red, Yellow, Blue covered. Was using OBW for her purple. I was missing green and black, and completely overlooked Pun! I was using hulk for his green and then right before I left I switched Hulk with Pun and was like Dammit! Ran through enough battles to get the 400pt progression reward and now the damn tournament is over.... Say La Vee (C'est la vie for all you proper french folk!)

So all this talk of GSBW I need to get my ass in gear, I didnt realize Im on the bottom of the event & there's only 9 hours left. I want that purple but I can deal if I dont get it, since she's 5/4/4 I'll get another purple eventually. Probably when I have her at level 150+.

Also with Im thinking there's got to be a femme fatale tournament coming up. Reasons I say that? Everyone is getting moonstone, I dont know how many damn times we've gotten a moonstone! As for me someone is telling me I need to work on my Bag Lady (invisible woman for all the new folks). I have now gotten 1 of each color for her from Anniversary or tournament tokens in the past week. Thats excessive for a 4*. As of right now Im looking at 12/13 powers 4/5/3 I dont know if thats super lucky or a waste. She's soft capped at 250/270 now & I have her at 80, should I do something with her?

Back to a Femme Fatale tournament, we have enough women now I think they can do it. They did one a long time ago, anyone remember that? I think almost everyone used OBW, Storm, and Moonstone. I think some were forced even to use Yelena back then.

Oh and Im regretting having sold off my 3* mags now. I hate that they changed him, but everytime I play against one & they use the blue color it does as much if not more than when it was purple! Then again Im not sure I want another red yellow blue character.

 
I didnt realize GSBW purple was a progression reward so now I have to at least get 25k haha. Shouldnt be too bad except most nodes are getting arder and harder and my three playable characters are at such low levels.

I am in a solid bracket though since I started just this morning haha and should finish with 5kiso, 2 steve covers (aka 1000 iso) and the 100HP. Plus hopefully GSBW and our Alliance rewards. Not too shabby!

Is there a huge payoff if I do the core nodes in this event? I dont recall. I would rather focus on the 3 essential nodes if possible but I can swing it to do the others if there is a hefty reward waiting for me at the end.

I'm focusing on the essentials only, so I couldn't tell you. I'll definitely be in the top 150 for my own blue Steve, and the alliance needs to stay in the top 100 for the extra. That'll get me to 13/13... and the iso sink begins (plus the hunt for another blue cover).

Boosted ISO rewards (even the easy nodes can get you 400), that's about it. The last main node has a lot of points, but it's a high level fight.

Since I had let it sit for a while, I was just focusing on the essential nodes and the boosted rubber banding. Got them under 1k per node now. Moving to core nodes Im finding some are at 1k themselves. So basically it depends on your game. If all my core nodes are ~1k, Im definitely making a lap around the block.

And of course my Kindle Fire freezes in the middle of a node. They really need to do something about that. Its kinda shit that my guys lose their health because the game froze. It knows I was in a battle why cant they tell if I retreated, won, or died and treat it for what it is?

Also dont forget the 3rd essential node on the top of the map, its after the regular node "A Tasty Treat" I always forget about that one & just focus on the 2 at the bottom of the map. Extra 1300 pts!

Played two overnight (to be more honest - played 15 minutes of two), and took 3rd in both. Love these 20 person brackets. Neither Annie token amounted to anything, but I'll take 4000 iso from a half hour of playing any time.

Also, thanks everyone for chipping in for that extra blue Steve. Great work!

Based on a couple lightning battles this morning, I'm looking forward to building a SheThor.

Especially playing head-to-head, those charged tiles will spread and her red will be a great finisher.

Look forward to pairing her with Patch.

Totally spaced on timing last night and didnt get a final push so I ended up at 53 and missed out on a good chunk of ISO. Poop.

Oh well still got enough to push Patch up 5 more levels to 160. I want him maxed because his power is dependent on his relative strength on his team.

And I really want this new Thor. Her move set sounds freaking great and I reallyyyyy hope I can get her seeing as Barney is dead to me (another dud annie token this morning)

I am going to try to Broly the lightning round and see what happens.

 
When you Broly the lightning rounds, you need to remember... everyone else in your bracket is doing the exact same thing. Since it's only 20 people, you need to have three high-point, easy-opponent nodes lined up that you can pop-pop-pop and finish right before the buzzer.

That strategy netted me 2 third place finishes last night. I've got 25, 28, and 29 lined up right now. I just need to figure out how much time to give myself to finish those suckers out. Going to try with Pun and OBW. OBW should take the blues from FemThor (+1 with Espionage - get those lightning tiles out faster), freeze the other FemThor, then grab a couple red matches to finish her off.

Gah I am loving FemThor. Sucks she counts as Thor though and makes him unusable.

I was literally 10 seconds shy of finishing my last match in that lightning! Crap!!

Did this last night. I just happened to pop in the last 10 minutes of a lightning round. I thought I was doing great since I was #2 for a bit. Then I ended up being in the top 10. I totally forgot there were only 20 people per event. Top 10! Whoo, got some standard tokens. I gotta take my dad to the Dr, so hopefully I can play a few rounds.

So whats to love about Thorella? She's another red blue yellow power set, I'll stick with that on steve. Charge tiles are free to anyone on the board. Enemy makes charge tiles, I'll match em. My opponents sure as hell were matching mine. Im glad they didnt make her a recycle of Thor with Red yellow green, but Im tired of Red Yellow blue, they ruined a perfectly good magneto scheme with that.

And yes I constantly dropped her moves during lightning rounds. Blue Stun, typical. Yellow for AoE Damage. I think the only good direct damage was red. Oh & whats up with charge tiles? Reminds me of patch giving everyone strike tiles, just now its even.

idk, I wouldve liked something more interesting, but these character moves are getting sloppy. Just like Doc Ock before her, I swear they're just having kids do the powers or they're dialing it in. Anyways not someone I have to worry about for a while. I finally have 2 Nick Fury's & Im guessing they'll to the same with Thorvina, how else can we keep people interested in seasons?

 
Started with about 10 minutes and 30 seconds to go... and that was too much time. Won a fourth match, and didn't finish the 5th in time. Started the 5th in 3rd place... so we'll see where we land.

EDIT: No one else got done in time either, so I stayed in third. Another 2K iso and an Annie token - which gave me Beast. I'll take it.

I was gonna say lets switch it up with Green blue and yellow but that scheme isnt working too hot for beast. I was reminded of that during the heroic venom event.

So where's the new event?

 
They might as well make these lightning rounds 30 minutes each. There is no value in playing for 90 minutes compared to playing for 10 and getting the same rewards.

It has to be another Heroic event, starting at Noon EST, right? All the other events are too long to finish during the Anniversary period. I hope it's not Sentry...

Also, they announced Ms. Marvel yesterday as a 2* version of Capt. Marvel. Just what we need.

 
Ugh. Got #2, would have gotten #1 if I finished 10 seconds sooner.

As usual my two Annie tokens were shit. I feel like the chances of opening so many and NOT getting anything but 2*s is low. Wtf. I hate this game.

On the bright side, my Patch is now 163 and only about 7500 ISO from max!

Just another 2* they'll power up more times than the 3*. I finally have my 2* torch where I want, so at least something attainable to shoot for.

3* to 2*= light

Honestly why don't we have a new 2* iron man? Iron patriot will be the 4* IM skin right?

I love how they have run like maybe 3 events max for Captain marvel and instead of letting us get more covers for her to make her usable they are going to give us a shittier version of her instead.

Now I am going to have to buy an effing slot for her so I can compete with her as she will likely be a required character for the next event like Johnny was and then as soon as the event is over I sell her.

I was thinking Patriot would be the 2*, and the Hulkbuster would be the 4*. Hulk-like tanking with IM-style powers would have to be completely useless until fully covered and expensively leveled.

You should be on the lookout for this ex-military tactician in the very near future. She'll be a reward for our next PVE Event, "Unstable Iso-8," starting on October 17th (running for 7 days).

And, because we think you deserve something delicious to chew on - here's your first peek at the mighty MS. MARVEL's ability set! Oh, yes!

Photonic Blasts - Red 7 AP
Ms. Marvel unleashes the amazing cosmic power of her photonic blasts, shattering her enemy's defenses. Deals 90 damage and destroys up to 2 enemy Protect tiles. Does not generate AP.

Sonic Boom - Black 9 AP
Ms. Marvel pushes her flight to its limit, hitting enemies at Mach-1 and causing a sonic boom that hits moments later. Deals 107 damage to the enemy team and places a 3 turn Countdown tile that deals an additional 81 damage when activated. The exertion costs Ms. Marvel an additional 4 AP from one random color.

Strategic Command - Yellow 8 AP

Not excited, but I do like there is a decent 2* black, with area damage to boost. And man, they really want you to use Team Ups now that they are less likely to get randomly.


Got first place on a LR early this morning. Got 750 ISO with my three tokens. Le sigh.

I can easily see 4* Thor being a beast when covered and leveled. And does the job of Sentry killer without being a dedicated silver bullet character. Yellow does a great job at removing special tiles and still doing something if there aren't any, and blue stuns and feeds damage to red. I like that there is still the spirit of 2*/3* Thor, using one power to fuel a further damage.

Doesn't much matter at this point, she won't even be available to most of us for at least three months.
 
Scored 1st in that lightning round with only 3 matches!

Now FINALLY on my 20th freaking Annie token I got something other than a 2*!!!!

I got a Purple Barney! hahah which really I couldnt care less to have seeing as he is like a 4* joke garbage character but whatever. Now I at least have him in case there is some random BS where we need him. Now I just still need Nick Fury to have everyone..

Not unless we become a PvP alliance. From what I understand, she's getting the Nick Fury release treatment - one cover per season for top 100 alliances.
 
I really like Lady Thor so far. I've paired her with the two-star magneto. He matches purple to feed her blue. She then stuns, and makes charge tiles.

Gets enough red.  4000-5000 damage. That red move when there are charge tiles on the board is extremely destructive.

I made the mistake of playing the entire 90 minutes for the first lightning round last night.  this morning I joined in too late (5 minutes remaining). It said I timed out at the end of the second match. Got the points but not the ranking.

I thought they fixed that bug?

Just found out the down side to this even if your opponent isn't playing her - Charge tiles give triple AP when matched. So you need to be careful against characters who benefit from the AP on the tiles she creates.

I like this 'weakness' better than the ones that drain your AP (IM40, Smash) or boost your opponent's AP (Ares, Panther).

Just found out the down side to this even if your opponent isn't playing her - Charge tiles give triple AP when matched. So you need to be careful against characters who benefit from the AP on the tiles she creates.

I like this 'weakness' better than the ones that drain your AP (IM40, Smash) or boost your opponent's AP (Ares, Panther).

Hmmm definitely an interesting take and I agree it makes for a much more entertaining and tense type of downside rather than just direct negatives like the others have had in the past.
