Now that we are back to full we should be able to stay just fine in the top 100 so everyone should at least get the one Blue Steve. That way no complaints either about not getting the special nodes next event!

But yeah I am excited to have my Steve maxed out tonight. He is at like 115 right now already so he should be a beast for the next event!

I randomly got a Black Mohawk Storm earlier (but no roster space yet for her) and then just now a Black Loki. I am all about more 3*s but these are just 'meh' haha

Finished at 104, because my wife called at about 10 to, for a 3 minute conversation. Won that match, but didn't get the next one finished in time... which would have given me top 100, and over 300 points for the token.

There's a lesson in there somewhere... but I'm not going to be the one to say it.

How weird. Just got black Loki from a Florida token today.

Balance of Power should be fun in seeing some new roster combinations. I want to see someone running a 270 Bagman.
 
I finally got a 3* from a Hunt token, but it was a yellow IM40 that I don't need.   Was surprised in the last PvP to find that my new lev43 1/0/1 IM40 was already more fun to play than my lev103 5/2/3 version.   At 1-yellow, you can really produce a steady stream of red!

Looking forward to playing the MN Mag & cStorm combo again in the new event!  Maybe with a 2* Thor or Daken?

 
Acutally I'm a bit of a collector, so curious to experiment with my maxed 1* Storm & BW.

Starting that tournament, I just encountered my first Fury with yellow & blue.  Thought about teasing out the fight to see his yellow in action, but then wiped the whole team w/ a 5k cStorm blast.   B^)

If you are tanking you wouldnt want a max one. I am saying if you have a level 1, 1* then you are essentially killed with a match or two by the opposing team...

Anyone can recruit a 1* at any moment I am sure as well all get them daily.

 
I think I like Captain Marvel's powerset, but man, another red/black set of actives and a yellow passive? I guess I should just be happy there's no green. Kind of odd that they've set her up as a red battery when her red doesn't scale, but I like that it's a low AP red.

Daken rebalances were needed, but yeah, the uproar about the timing is spot on if you sold or respec'd with the Heavy Metal covers. Sheesh.


Now give me a third power for Doom! (And fix the Sunder bug.)
 
Hmmmm....

I really like the idea of Carol being able to destroy ALL protect tiles. I appreciate that they are really trying to mix it up with these powers.

Also, great job guys on scoring within the top 100 again. I have no use for the Alliance reward cover since I scored #8 in my bracket but I am really glad we all got it so that we can dominate even more in the next event!

Koju, please tell me you got #1 in your bracket. I swear the last time I checked you had about a billion points at least! hahah

I am not interested in this balance of power event. Why the hell would I want this long drawn out battle of attrition between 240 level characters?

Ugh. Just feels like it takes out too long.

Same here. It also flips everything because my 3 stars aren't fully leveled, so they aren't 240. I'm used Ares, OBW, and Moonstone for a battle, but the HP was so high on both teams, it was ridiculous. I guess the draw is it levels the playing field and lets people use whoever they want as long as they are fully leveled, but I'm not feeling it.

Remember damage and powers are also scaled with the cover's levels so it's takes about the same time to finish a battle for me. Using Wolverine who does 10k after using his green and red power, and OBW to steal. M35 is there just to give my yellow a boost and only other max cover besides Storm.

It seems like it would be longer but yeah EVERYTHING is buffed.

I am waiting to hop into a lower bracket but if my Black Panther's black normally does like 3.4k to everyone right now at only 150, then at like 230 or whatever he is scaled to he is likely doing about 5k to everyone in one hit.

I don't want to hear excuses because literally of all the events this one is the most fair of all haha we all could really use some Psylocke covers (except DS of course) so we should all try to participate a bit

I came in fourth. Probably would have had the top spot, except I had to deal with some family stuff. Didn't miss any subevents, but couldn't optimize one or two. All that meant is no green IW cover, so no big deal.

I'm happy - four Steve covers I could use, putting him at 2/5/3. Dumped just about all the ISO I had saved during the event into leveling him to 117. I have the HP to make him 3/5/5, but I'll wait until he soft caps before spending. Almost bought those Doom covers before he was a reward a week later.

Between tokens, node awards and progression/placement, got two more Johnny covers and somewhere over 30k ISO. Pretty profitable event.

Key learnings -

Redwing is great against three goons when countdowns are affected. Any node I ran into was OBW, Falcon and either Cap or Johnny. Usually Johnny, because Falcon boosts his black, but ran Cap in the non required nodes to make sure I didn't waste a health pack.

Healing is still important. I already kinda knew that, as long as you use it right. Since Spidey was boosted, he let Hulk take a rest frequently. As soon as Web Bandages came up, threw it out there. I made myself remember healing is now more like the traditional video game shield. You throw it up to prevent damage when you're hurt, not to get back into fighting shape for the next match.

I find Black Panther kind of boring to play. I don't deny he's useful, and would fit my rainbow well. But... I dunno. I like Punisher's strike tiles better and Doom's black better. It's not you T'Challa, it's me. Hey, GSBW, that's some sexy team damage you got there...

I haven't started the event yet, so I have the seed teams (one of the seeds has Nick Fury?) right now. Are there a lot of ThorVerWidows running around, or is there actual diversity in the opponents?

I'm seeing a good mix of mostly 2* and a few 1*s getting used.  Since I don't have any maxed 3*s yet, I'm in the same boat.

So far it seems like OBW/cStorm paired with Thor or Ares can usually end a match pretty quickly.

Personally I'm glad they're at least trying something new.  It feels so strange to find myself skipping teams with Juggernaut again.  B^)

I had saved up HP and bough my covers literally two days before the effing event started hahah So I got all 4 covers but had to sell two : /

Oh well though I have a maxed 3/5/5 Steve now at like 121 I believe? Regardless, he is very useful now.

I need to remember the healing thing. That is a great way of putting it, that it isn't HEALING necessarily now but rather shielding for future damage. I keep neglecting my healers now since that patch and really shouldn't be!

I COMPLETELY feel you on BP. He is a fairly boring character to use because he doesn't DO much. The only thing I do is defend his blue countdown tiles and then wait for a Black finisher. He is overall like you said a very useful character which is why I use him, but lacks the 'fun' of his moves and stuff.

I really think it's because there's a team damager I already have maxed and like. BP's black feels like an also ran when I have something that does more damage and clears out bad tiles if the battle is going to continue. Yeah, it costs more, but it's easy to get green and I don't have to give my opponent any free AP.

And then they'll make him a featured character and I'll get interested again.

If I am having a tough time though or know a fight will be difficult all I have to do is take Take Thor and BP and then whoever else is the featured character or whatever and give myself the Black and Green AP boost and then the all AP boost. That gives me 6 of each Black and Green and so if I can find some quick matches in black and green then the match is instantly over. Thor will do about 4.5k to one and then 2.3k to the others and then BP will do 3.3k to everyone. That is almost 8k damage to one and over 5.5k to the others. That ends most battles pretty quickly.

But yeah either way then I do like keeping BP as a backup team clear. It pairs well as a finisher since you dont want there to be another turn since you just gave them AP and so if you damage teams evenly then it is a good go. Also I mix up my team now and don't always have Thor there as a nice team clearing so having a backup for that move is nice!

 
Yeah, in all honesty I wasn't really timing the battles. It just felt like it was taking forever. I realize the damage is scaled as well as the HP. (For me, as well as my opponent)

A more interesting mechanic would be a random red ISO (boost) for one of your characters. Or just a random button selection for both you and the other player.  -that- would switch things up.

 
Son decided to start the event early on my Android so stuck in a tough bracket.  I'm seeing a lot of combinations that include Thor, Storm (Modern or Classic), Iron Man M35, Ares, OBW, and Venom.  Only saw Hulk once and Psylocke handful of times.

I am worried we are going to see a shit ton of 2* Storms. Her boosted that high will do massive damage and be really annoying and there are plenty of people with her maxed.

I am not looking forward to that.

I am a bit screwed I feel like since I have sold off all of my non 3* characters hahah

My team will be my normal team I guess. The synergy will just not be nearly as good as other combinations now!

I've definitely faced a bunch of cStorms already, but as long as you target her first she shouldn't get a shot off.

Only time I had issues with Storm is when they team her up with OBW which I normally target first and try to block them from matching blue

Starting to like this PvP. First time I feel that I can do well in these events.

Wish I had Mags and M40 maxed out to team with Storm but so far I'm happy with Wolverine/M35/OBW

Iron Man - I have no idea what the point of this change is. Are they not making enough money from Silicon Valley comic book buyers? I suppose I haven't read enough about it.

Captain America - I'm cool with Sam taking the job, but it won't last, I'm sure. They're planning an event in the near future that will give Steve back his powers and the mantle, and Sam will happily give it back. He'll end up as a new character called Bald Eagle or something.

Thor - I don't really have an issue with a female character taking his job, but it's weird taking his name. I mean, isn't it Thor Odinson, not "Gary Odinson, Professional Thor". There are at least two female Asgardians I know of (Sif and Valkyrie) that maybe could step into a Thunder Goddess role. Would even be neat to have Danielle Moonstar, but she is definitely not a blond Norse woman. I mean, it would seem to make more sense if it was the whole Blake Whatshisname thing with the walking stick trick, where he's a human woman by day, thunder god by night. I dunno, I feel like there are better ideas to bring a new female Avenger into focus besides someone taking over another character's shtick. Like Cap, I doubt this will last.

Yeah with all comic book things nothing is permanent but they are definitely interesting changes.

I was wondering the same thing with Iron Man so maybe it is just that simple of a change hahah

I like Falcon taking over for now as well. He seems like a good fit and will bring a new dynamic to the role for sure. I am curious to see what the 'end result/ Bald Eagle' Falcon will look like and if he will have different powers.

Thor sucks hahah. I have never been a huge fan of Thor myself and so I am cool with a change (ironic since he is my best character here in MPQ haha) I always really liked the cool female Asgardian armor and so her design with Thor's armor looks like it will be pretty great. The name thing is weird yeah but from what I have read she is literally just like, 'okay now my name is Thor.' So Thor is still Thor... but so is she...? Because Thor will still be around but welding Jarnbjorn so do they call each other Thor?

 
Not much to say, latest tournament is boring. Psylocke tournament coming up for season 4. 

I have a team of 2*s up, which is crazy.  OBW, c. Storm and 2* Thor. They're winning too. I log in, & Ive won points.

Dont even have much to say about the comics. Dont know whats up with Iron Man but honestly I dont care.  I gave up on him during dark reign when he was deleting his brain so that Norman Osborn couldnt get any info out of him. Dumbest story line ever.

Saw black captain america (Like thats never been done before) Said hey that looks like Falcon, surprise.....

Saw Female thor, they had female loki. Asgardians like to cross dress or transdender or whatever so surprise....

Guardians of the Galaxy is coming out soon, they've really been pushing the guardians lately. As a super hero team they kinda suck.

Im more into the fallout from the Superior spiderman and now Avengers undercover, which is the continuation of Avengers Arena. Also tried reading the savage hulk. After the indestructible hulk ended in a cliffhanger I was expecting better. 

 
currently sitting @ 11 not shield. waiting for the countdown to 8h to pop the shield. or should I just pop the 24hr shield now?

Hopefully I can work my way up further. two covers would be nice.

If your defending team has not been losing a ton I would say just hold out if possible until the 8h mark. I would do a final push at that time and get as high as possible and shield up then and hope for the best. And if anything happens you can try to throw a hail mary with like 5 minutes left to break your shield and win another match though that is ballsy haha

from 25-11, I was fighting lvl 270s of 1* and 2*. Now that I am at 11, its all 2* and 3* and I have no heals (waiting for them to replenish)

 
The balance of power event isnt so bad after all. I'm using my two stars, and I even still have a couple one stars left. Juggernaut is actually pretty destructive powered up this fully. He can knock someone down by 6500 with his red power.

I'm in the top 100 now, but since I have to go to work might have to be content with that. Should give me 5 red's for psylocke at least.

Got a 3 Med Pack from the daily bonus so all geared up for a late run.  Just hope I don't doze off while playing like I did before.

I'm in the same boat. Currently at 0/5/3, so my only goal tonight is to make top 100.

Without the red, I've always been hesitant to play her at all. With the red, this PvE will be a lot more fun since she's powered up. B^)

I wish I could get a red.....for 3* Thor... Now you see how I feel!

Since I only have 5 or 6 levels for a fully leveled Psylocke I guess I'll work on her, its crazy you get to those last couple levels & they cost more iso then the first 100 levels. If you can get the specs, 5/3/5, no other way, that blue isnt worth it after 3, been there done that.

On the discussion of Panther being boring, well he is. Honestly though, I just get the 12 black AP & kill the other team. Thats kinda it for him. Blue protect is boring, Yellow strikes are boring. I mean he just is. His high health is his only saving grace. Psylocke is fun to play, I enjoy her. She doesnt have killer moves but she's like thor: She builds on herself. Her red produces the strike tiles which strengthen her black attack tiles. Its been fun to play her powered up during this tournament & will be better next one.

With Captain Marvel coming, Id like a tweak on Moonstone. Only when she's powered up is she ever useful, but I can see how she is. Id really like to be able to use her like I do Ares. I dont know was just thinking about that. Oh as for Captain Marvel, did they have to make her so girlie? She looks more like a Barbie doll than Carol Danvers.

Damn, I'm good. Steve covers for the Psylocke tournament. That was quick. Top 25 gets me to 12/13 powers.

Season IV's top prize for alliances is a yellow IW? What the heck? I guess that will cut down on top alliance burnout.

If anyone starts the PvE, can you post how much time the first subevent has? I don't want to kick off a bracket right now, too busy with work and family and hoping it's tomorrow night, not tomorrow afternoon.
