I'm really saddled with some lousy team up powers. I've got like 3 or 4 Hood twin pistols ones, so I used some in the PvP. 

Unfortunately I used them against someone's  low level team. Now i have a level 1 iron man team up power.

Go to the prologue, last chapter. Play the node against the single level 140 Ragnarok to burn through bad team ups and get a useful high power one in return.
 
Got a gold pull finally, first in about a month now almost (from the thick as thieves right now) and it was.... Loki.

Super TROLL. It is like oh look fine here is one you could use.. BUT WANT THE ABSOLUTE LEAST.

Anyone trying the Buy-In? I'm in the middle of doing some plumbing work, so can't start anything at the moment. Just wondering how fast-and-furious the season-less Falcon competition for a Stormhawk cover is.

I can't imagine it's too crazy, unless people are gunning for the highest token tier.

I have like 2 moves for Falcon so I am not even considering it. I would imagine it isnt THAT intense really but you never know!

And I didnt sell my Loki, I just bumped his Black from 2 to 3. So really USELESS. YOUUUUUU at least got 250 ISO ; )

So I tried the Buy in, let me just say I can see that I paid 150 HP for a heroic & some ISO. Points arent too crazy but the sheer amount of Patchnetos is insane. For diversity I found a Hoodneto, oh easy I thought....Yeah no, I didnt even make a dent in hood....

Also this made me use healthpacks for the stupid buy in instead of the PVE or PVP events. I found myself just retreating from half the battles. I guess its better than paying 200 for the daily deal?

 
fuck. I was #3 in the PvP and finishing up one more match when I apparently fell asleep and just woke up to my alarm.

Awesome I dropped over 100 points. I had planned on shielding obviously. fuck. I want all those Deadpools. If I hold top 5 my Deadpool will be 3/1/2 already!! (even higher if we all start playing that PvP and we get the Alliance reward!)

Tried to get back to where I was before I fell asleep now and had no such luck. Somehow, in one turn, Magneto did each of his moves, TWICE. That is six moves from Magneto and then Thor did Call the Storm.

And that was way early in the game when there is no way in hell the other team had even remotely enough AP to do that. I feel like I have been facing that more and more lately where it is even more outrageous of moves being pulled without the necessary AP.

But so anyway.

I have already seen a few maxed Deadpools though I have not looked online at all and was curious what you guys were thinking is the ideal build for Deadpool? I have no idea because all 3 are great moves.

My buddy (Nm8or) was at my place last night and she was like, I want Punisher because then with Deadpool I can kill ANYONE. And I hadnt thought about it but with Deadpool maxed you knock the character down 65% of their health and then Punisher finishes anyone with less than 40%. That means we can knock out max level Hulks or boosted 249 characters with only 14 Red AP! That is a pretty sick combo. Are there characters that feed Red? I can't think of any at the moment but if there were that would be a crazy combo to have.

I went all-in. Had to pause about an hour before the end, was out of health packs and nothing but retaliation bait characters to fight with. That pause cost me the top spot - I was leapfrogging with someone else between 1st and 2nd, when I came back I only managed to hold on to #4. Got three tokens, all 2*s. At least one was a Johnny I needed. So, yeah, I came out ahead, I guess?

Punisher + Dr. Doom + Boosted Falcon is fun.

How the heck are you in a bracket where 600 points puts you in top five? My bracket's top 5 spots are all 1100+ already, top 2 are 1300+. Granted, my 566 right now has me in 28th, so I'm in a good position to get some covers, but I run out of easy targets way before I get into the 1k range.

I keep getting in solid brackets. I feel like I have gotten the sweet spot of joining events haha

All my brackets lately have been really good. Hell I am like 30 in the PvE and I havent played like at all and you have to scroll fairly far to even find me in the Alliance ranking haha

But yeah for me so far joining PvP around 3pm the day before the event ends has been squeezing me into amazing brackets where I get to play all day and then shield up and do a quick final push the last hour of the event or so.

And yeah Iron Man does but I hate him hahah and I hate how you have to get hit basically by a power or a 20 sequence cascade for Marvel's Red generation to kick in at all, they need to lower that amount.

Last night in the buy in, I got a worthless bullseye for my heroic token. Was I shocked no. So for shits n giggles I paid 100 hp for the daily deal. Gold Emblem, Steve Rogers.....Yellow. I wont complain that has me at 4/4/5 for steve, so full set. I can get him to 166 & repspec him later. It was a Captain America night last night, made it to my 1 TaT token progression reward and got a Captain America....Yellow again, lol the irony.

So now I know how people feel when they play me & that happens. I just played a round with My loaner Storm Hawk, Panther, Magneto team and did just that. It was a lucky board I'll give it that but killed the enemy in just 1 turn. Never doubt magneto 5 in red. It may be small and worthless but spam that sucker & its a bitch. I did 1 red match, my next turn I used magnetic projectile & that set me up a 5 match, then another, then I got more reds, then got some blue, which set up mags blues, kept getting reds from the cascades that I repeatedly set off mags blues & reds, team ups, then finally had enough black from my never ending cascades I did a rage of the panther & thats all she wrote.

I figured that was a one time thing but Ive run through about 2-3 other teams with that strategy and its worked. So with loaner storm only having green, C Mags, having red blue & purple, and Panther doing black and yellow (hello!) I have a rainbow team.

Im gonna ask though, L Daken & L Thor, does that team up really work? I see them, even a level 166 pair & just use a Hulk Psylocke combo and take them down. Its like sure it worked in 2* world but not so much anymore. Health wise, hulk outlasts LThor & once he's gone Daken is a pushover.

I sure wish I could get my fucking Magneto to at least have all three of his moves....

That being said I avoid the L Daken and Thor teams just because I dont like dealing with them but in reality yes they are not all that great of a combo from what I have seen. Especially because once we are dealing with all maxed three stars like that there are FAR better character synergies out there to compete with.

Deadpool PvP has Torch as reward. Sucks for me seeing as mine is 5/5/2 right now with Green being the third one if you dont know and of course Green is the reward for the #5 tier only. Looks like I will just be playing a little for the ISO and then my Season Rank. Lame.

At least the lull in the game (since the PvE is super simple and is ending soon) will give me time to actual level up my many characters a tiny bit.

Made my green patch season 4 reward goal. Think I can make it to the 10 pack in the time I have left? I shouldnt be asking questions on here should I then?  2k points in X days....can it be done?

Yeah I was hopeful for a 10 pack this time but then I realized I dont play PvP as much anymore haha I have been trying now though, hoping to at least score the Patch Reward myself. I only need about 1k points more to hit the Patch reward so I should make that at the very least. No way am getting the ten pack though unless I score about 1k EACH tourney haha.

I was freaking out with everyone talking about the next event. Switch between my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7 so know the feeling. Going to get the S5 next week once my contract ends so no more rebooting my phone to play MPQ.

 
Had to brag a little, after several mmr nightmares this storm tourney has got me at 15 with under 400pts.. If all holds I should have some Deadpools which will help greatly in the pve. It reaaaally sucks not having the featured player in PVEs. 2 in a row for me now
 
MPQ hates me.  Lost all my health packs in 2 matches because the bots got lucky and created these massive cascades that netted them enough gems to power up all their powers and got knocked out in less than 5 rounds.  Now just a sitting duck at #67 and hoping that I can at least keep top 100 for the Deadpool cover.

Had a couple buddies over today after and so couldnt play PvP much (and no PvE). I ended up playing a bit and then shielding and then playing a little bit more and shielding right before we saw Guardians and BAM MOTHER FUDGER. #4.

That is how you do it hahah

I then used all of my ISO on Deadpool so I have him at level 68 and at 3/1/2

Not too shabby if I do say so myself ; P

I hope everyone else had at least some decent luck with that PvP!

 
No luck here, #106 with 608 points. Dropped 40-50 spots after I went to sleep. Have I mentioned how I hate these midnight & noon end times?

Got 12th place, so two covers, and now have all three covers (1/1/2). Top 5 in my bracket were all over 1600 points, top was 1786. Crazytown.

And you got top 5 with 650? Sheesh. I would have demolished your bracket with my 951. ;)


I thought we were going hard at this event, guys. I did my part, you slackers! :joystick:

I got into the 70s with about 400 (maybe 500 points, I forget). Got at least one cover so I can use him in the essential nodes.

 
I joined the PvP too early and ended up at 166 so still only have the 1 deadpool cover.  Should hit the last progress reward by end of today hopefully.

 
Special nodes opened up in the main PvE event and they all have really high point values. I got my red Deadpool progression reward (been slacking in this event) and so now I am happy. Looks like I can keep top 40 as well to get three Spidey covers.

All I really care about however is that my Deadpool is 4/2/2 and at level 80 already!!!! Soft cap is at 102 but as you all know I never have ISO like most of us haha

 
So I didn't get to play much at all for any of the events for the past week or over the weekend, with planning for a birthday party, getting slammed at work (budget time), and friends visiting. Now that the party has been hosted, looking back, it was kind of nice not worrying about slotting away an hour or so at specific times during the day to play a game on my phone.

I'm not going to quit playing the game (too big a fan of Puzzle Quest in general, even more so with Marvel characters), but I'll be playing on a when-free-time-allows basis moving forward. I probably won't be netting too many PvP (who am I kidding... I never did anyway!), and unless the rewards are covers I really want, PvE will be for daily rewards and some time here and there. I won't be playing nearly enough to help the alliance with any event rewards, and while the HP and ISO rewards have been wonderful, I don't want to hold back all of you that continue to play a lot more than I do.

After this season is over, I'll be leaving the alliance so you guys can hire out as needed to get to the next level for the rewards. I'll jump into alliances that could use a hand if I'm actually invested in an event. I'll still be moderately active in the forum as time permits.

Hahah definitely understandable. The only reason I get to play as much is my commute otherwise I would likely be in your shoes too.

If you are scoring decently in an event after you leave just let us know and we can kick a random to have you hop in and reap the rewards!

You damn well better stay at least semi-active on this forum... or I will hunt you down : )

Speaking of people leaving, I know Porkchop has been with us since the beginning but like I said before he has been consistently on the bottom lately. I am not like super gung ho on Spiderman but I bet if we got rid of him we could likely make the top 100 if we got someone with around 45k or so.

It would take allot of grinding for me to get that 40,000 point Deadpool cover reward. I started the event too late since I was concentrating on the tournaments instead.

 
This thread seems so dead lately, and ltrain leaving doesnt help!

I feel like I dont care to get more characters right now. I have so many I want to focus on that I have pretty much most of the covers for that I would rather play a bit more casually for the time being and just focus on gaining ISO.

Hulk, Black Panther, Steve, Punisher, Torch, Hood, Patch and Deadpool are all either at the hard cap or close to it and all could use plenty of ISO. The more characters I get the less ISO goes to them it seems because I am fumbling to give all my new ISO to the powered up/new character and stuff.

I just unknowingly maxed my covers on Human Torch with the last PvP, and only have him at level 80, so I know what you're saying. I'll also have a maxed cover Spider-Man when PvE ends, as long as I stay top 100. Up through the 2*-3* transition phase, HP was the precious resource, now ISO certainly is.

So, how about some ISO-collecting tips people have? I'll skip the obvious ones, like "do the PvE nodes".

Some of mine:
  • Participate in every free PvP event you can, even lightning rounds, and especially if you can get the seed teams. LRs get a bad rap for winning tokens that get you nothing. Just play to about 100 points or so (easy to do with seeds), and you'll get some match ISO and 70 ISO for placing in the top 10k. Obviously, if you have the time, inclination, and roster, shoot for the higher progressions/placements.
  • Play regular PvP events at least to the 300 mark, 700 if you can do it (1k ISO progression award). If the character award isn't one you need/want, ignore the bracket placement. 300 gets you a token that at worst can be cashed in for 250 ISO, or at best, gives you a cover you could use. Every victory gets you a little bit of ISO, as does placement.
  • Don't skip opponents in PvP if you don't care about your bracket, unless you know you can't win against the maxed Sentraken or Patchneto. 30 ISO per match adds up slowly, but better than 0, and you don't care how many points they are worth, right? Even if you lose to a bad cascade, it helps your MMR.
  • If you haven't already done it, harvest the prologue. There are nodes in there that are worth 500 ISO that you might not have gotten the first time through. Even if you fail to get the drop, you'll still get 20. Sell covers - there are a bunch of 1* awards, too. The prologue will be stupid easy for you now.
  • Don't use a cover you're planning to respec lower later unless you absolutely must have the extra character levels now - just sell it, you don't get anything back when you respec.
  • Don't train covers on characters lower than your usual tier unless you plan to actually use them. Selling off a 1/1/1 is a worse value than selling three covers individually.
  • Play every day for supply drops. Just do a prologue match if you don't want to join an event yet.

Just got the 40k prize, I'm #10 in my sub event but like #350 in the main. I fell asleep early & completely missed the deadlock tournament.

I can't believe how the alliance is falling apart but it's a mobile game that requires too much investment so I understand.

On a positive now wanted me to have a Steve the way I wanted. I managed to get a red Steve Rogers, funny since I just got the yellow a day or so before. Now deadpool is sitting next to Carol each with their 2 covers. No more New characters please!

Also anyone else feel teased whenever they see a 2* torch as a reward & then you just get a 1* cover reward? I'm not hurting for him but I wouldn't mind having more covers when they're advertised.

I sold him after the initial event and continue to sell him now. I would almost have a maxed one if I kept them all.. but I have the 3* and I doubt he will ever be a Special Node requirement ever again.

My Deadpool is the only really powerful one in the Alliance it seems hahah I told you guys I was dead set on getting him strong. He is 100 pts shy of level 93 now and is at 4/2/2 ; P

I am sure with more heated ones we will again but I feel like the general consensus is that interest is waning. Womp.

Think we're a little burnt out after the push for some of the PvE events and doesn't help that some people didn't have the cover of the week on our rosters. It's not easy burning through these mindless nodes from rehased events. Starting next week I'm no longer working from home full time and will be commuting to the city. So no more playing MPQ during my conference calls and will most likely drop to the middle of the pack.

Yeah I am going to hop in sometime later to play Hotshot. Like I said I am not all that interested in getting more covers either way though, but I do want to at least hit the Patch Season Progression reward

Holy crap I just hit fort knox on my 10 pack.  Started off bad with Johnny and 2* wolverine but then it started raining gold covers.  Guess this makes up for not getting another any gold covers in the last 1k pulls.

Now I need 45k Isos to level up everyone

I never thought of that with Torch and Hood either!!

That just proves even more how amazing Hood is.

I got my Deadpool to 95 so that he comes to my front page now taking OBWs spot of 94 and so now my front page on the training screen are all 3*s!

But yeah now I am back to focusing on Hood since he is only 110 right now. I want him at least up to 140 or so before I focus on anyone else.

You have him at 5/5/3 then?

Mine is 4/5/4 hoping to get that Yellow to respec. If I dont get another Yellow by the time I get him to 133 though I have decided, I will buy the Yellow.

And I just saw your Hero Academy request!

I really think since so much of us here are passing away from MPQ as intensely as we all had before that Hero Academy is a GREAT alternative to all still play together but at our own paces. With the asynchronous multiplayer there is no really NEED to play your turn and the more people you have playing it means you always should have a turn ready to play when you feel like it. Or you can start one up with a random always.

Definitely for those of you who havent played it, you need to look into it.
