Scored a quick purple Spidey last night but have not needed a Hulk cover in a few months! Oh well, hopefully he has a good reward but I have a feeling it will be another older 3* reward for his as well.

Also, has anyone noticed that the overall rewards for the PvE, that the ISO values are different? If you get the bottom tier blue Falcon, then you get 1,000 ISO whereas the tier BELOW IT with the 2* you get 1,500 ISO.... seeing as I do not need another Blue Falcon that means I will get 1,500 ISO after selling whereas if I score in the lower tier I will get 1,750 after selling...

Not a huge difference but still what is up with that. Is it always like that and I just never paid attention to it?

My Hulk has been stuck at 5/2/4 for a while, and that is with buying a black or two with HP. I've had several extra green tokens to sell off, but black and red are just hard to come by for me apparently. What's the ideal build for him anyway?

I never noticed that with the Iso, but I usually just focus on the covers for the rewards.

Never noticed, but looks like sometimes it is like that, sometimes not, based on the event archives in the forums.

5/3/5. There are better reds, and draining green will usually run counter to one of your other power strategies. Plus, his black makes it more likely to set up self-damage with red. It's powerful enough at 3 if he's your last standing character to do some extra damage.
 
I disagree with the 5/3/5 for Hulk.

I have found 5/4/4 to be most useful for me. I hate having his black trigger self damage to me and my team. I feel like it is not at all worth the extra green tiles it creates, especially since the True Healing patch where the damage we take is the damage we keep. His Red is definitely not a good move but when stuck with Essential Nodes or other such things there have been many times where Hulk ends up being the only one with a Red and having it stronger for those few times to me is better than self damage to the team. Red, if timed well right after a Thunderous Clap (Green) where you use up all the Green AP and there are less than 10 greens on the board, can be a decent damage dealer if there are no other Red options on your team at that point.

 
Look at the damage that is actually done with 5 black. Even boosted in the current event, it's 101 to your team at max level. That is nothing, especially when you consider the damage you do to the other team gets affected by strike tiles. With Daken, it's crazy the amount of damage you can do just by getting hit. And every extra green you make means more fuel for some of the best powers in the game, or just randomly causes match 5's, or has a better chance of getting rid of pesky HAMMER/Torch/Blade countdowns.

I get the Don't Hurt Yourself idea, but sometimes it's worth doing the math of "I can hurt myself for X and reduce the number of turns to win, or I can hope the enemy match damage + possible power usage during those extra turns is less than X". It's why Sentrybombing works - you hurt yourself for a faster win.

I totally get the argument and I suppose my play style is what dictates it though. I normally do not play much at all until the very end and then when I do play then I need to just sit and pump shit out. I have to take the least amount of damage possible so that I can keep playing.

And I know 100 isnt all that much but it never is just one. In any given match I probably get at the very least 5 countdowns triggered which means that is 500 damage minimum to my team that I inflict. Every match I usually have one character with really low health and so 500+ damage is a good deal in my mind. Plus you only get one more green.

To each their own with such a build and again I definitely see the merit but I much prefer not hurting myself in any way if I can prevent it.

I did as well. Got a 2 star somebody. Sold em off.

I could definately go with another hulk cover. Mine is at 5 green, 2 red and 3 black now. (I think)

Psylocke is one level away from being totally maxed. 166 and 5 in red and 5 in black.

anyone remember the last time there was a sale on HP.  Thinking about buying a 20 buck pacakge but if there was a sale a coming i would wait (going to wait till after black friday- at least.

I want to say there was one a little over a month ago? I am not sure I haven't bought any HP in a while plus now I have about 14k anyway ; P

But yeah I definitely recommend you wait for a sale. Unless you ABSOLUTELY NEED the HP right now somehow, definitely just wait for the next sale, I would imagine they would have one soon regardless of when they last did simply because this is the 'hey go buy things' time of the year haha

5 more days until my 365 day Devil Dino Rewards show up.  Meh? Not sure whether to be excited or not.

Does anyone play with a full 4-star team? There's a 2star to 3-star transition, but I don't really think anyone moves on to all 4 stars, or do the elite high lever players do so?

I will probably hit 60k in the gauntlet then bow out. need to work on the spidey tournament to ensure my hulk cover.

The only truly useful 4star is X-Force. Fury is good, but not even near that level. In terms of team synergy the current 4 stars do not really play to each other's strengths all that much anyway and so it would seem odd given the current situation, to see a full 4* team.

I have fought against many X-Force and Fury teams, but I honestly do not see why someone with that many characters would bother putting Devil Dino or IW with those two.

 
I generally only see one 4* on a team, even at higher levels. X-Force has about 85% share, 10% to Nick, and last 5% for Dino. Might be the fact that X-Force/Magneto is the new Sentry/Hood.

same here. I never see any 4-stars paired together. are there even enough 4 star characters to make a tier? There's really only 5, right?

IW, X Force, Nick, Devil Dino, and Lady Thor.

Friendly reminder - PvE ends in 1h17min. We're currently at #84, so time to push for that handy Falcon cover!
 
I just managed to get the purple Mystique (1/2/1 now) cover.  I had to spend 200 HP on health packs, but I figured it was worth it.  I also got a black Mole Man (2/2/1 now) with my last simulator token.  I joined the Spidey tournament and put up 400 points so far.  I do like using him with Hulk and BP.  I'd like at least one more Hulk, but I'm only around 75 with that.  Looks like the Hulk rewards are GSBW.  I can use anything but purple, so naturally purple is the lowest tier.

I was using Spidey with Ares and OBW but with the additional blue Falcon, now switching it to Spidey, Rogers, and Falcon. always doing -1 dmg to me.

I think you mean Pink for GSBW.

Definitely purple. It's called purple in game when it's referenced in power, like Spidey's Spider-Sense.

Apparently the leaderboards work now. It turns out I was 38 points from top 50 in the Simulator, which would have given me the purple Falcon I need to max his covers. D'oh!

Well called it and called it. With the release of the GoTG on video (DVD, Bluray, streaming, whatever) it figures theyd be released now.

Although this is getting to be too much with everything released back to back to back.

I think when I come back in full swing, Im adjusting my play style. I cant be a collector anymore. I cant try to keep every cover. The roster is getting so diverse that I need to keep the characters I want to keep. With new characters being released its getting harder to keep a 1-2 covered character in hopes that I may use them for something other than an essential node. They give a 1 cover freebie in the pvp, which I use most of the time anyways since its just as good as my 1 cover.

I really think they need to do something else than just introduce new characters. This games longevity would be prolonged with an evolution system, than a cover collection system. Also the continuation of more 3* rare characters, thats just something that should have never happened.

 
Right. They either need to change the add a slot cost (2500 ISO? 200 HP?) Or just stop adding new characters, or maybe let you retire/vault ones you don't want to currently use.

I think new characters get added so frequently is that is a major draw for players. look how fierce the competition is whenever a new one is a reward for the event.

I chose my hulk end time, and that pushed the start time back further.  Need to be sure I'm past 100 to get a black cover now.

 
And 600 points for #106? Nuts. One more black would put my Hulk at 5/3/4. Must have been a tight bracket.

I seem to have seed teams lined up in the Hulk event, but the rare times I've tried "brolying" an event it hasn't worked.

Might just fight my way up.

Thick as Thieves event goes for 6 days. Ugh. Another long one. And the final progression reward is Yellow falcon.

 
Groot and Rocket look alright but honestly do not seem all that amazing to me, though perhaps my mind will change once I use them.

So if I read it right, we are getting two events to earn them? Essentially doubling our chances to get them? Or are they not giving them a PvP scenario then in place of the second PvE? I skimmed the article so it may have been there and I just missed it.

Also, was able to Broly my way in 2 matches to #12 on the Spidey PvP not that it matters other than ISO and HP for me but still cool... ESPECIALLY SEEING AS I CAN NO LONGER DO THAT. Ugh. I thought I could pick a time that I was able to start at, not instantly be put in a bracket : (

And damn, I REALLY want that Purple Blade. I have almost 14k HP and 40k ISO that I would love to buy some covers and level up Blade but without a single Purple cover I can't really do that. Bah.

Oh, and slidecage I honestly cannot remember. I tried googling but I cannot find anything. Maybe someone else can shine a light on what kind of discounts we get during the sales?

1d 10hrs for first pve event node. Got 44 in Spidey with 650 pts. Got so many successful defend with Rogers/Falcon teamup
 
The anniversary sale was an extra 20% of whatever you bought. I thought that was how it was in previous sales, but I honestly can't be sure.

I like Rocket & Groot's power set, but I don't see myself fitting them in with my regulars. I do like that the yellow is a match passive like 2* Wolverine. If that green power was even just a red, he'd be great for my primary team as a third.

As it is, I don't know how well I'll fare with this event. Have some family stuff towards the end of the clock that might preclude high scoring.

Which really shows how messed up some of the brackets are if you were 44th with 650 and i was 109 with 602.

Also note that 8 days from now is Thanksgiving. Which presumably would mean people with more free time to play (?). thankfully the first (of two?) Groot event ends just before that.

crap was hoping it was like 25 or 50% off. up to 200 hp still need another 300 to open up 3 more slots

I got my Purple Blade from a Recruit Token!!!! JLKhlkjhflk sjdhf alksjhb~~~JH 

I had good luck you guys, good luck!!!!! Hahah I am so stoked.

But yeah so now I was able to buy some more covers and boost his level. I was able to rocket him up to 98 I have him just at 2/3/3 right now and am still looking at the best build.

Looks like the general consensus is 3/5/5 and I can see the merit in that. His Thirst is definitely an amazing move. The boost from 4 -> in that move just makes it so that you only need 10 tiles instead of 11. That is probably really helpful but it seems silly to waste a whole power point on just one less red to initiate. Though that move seems to trigger really often and if it can even faster the better?

His black seems good but even at max level it only does just shy of 2k. The countdown tile doesnt go away unless matched, but so the only difference from 3->5 is a bit more damage and it steals 3 instead of 3 AP.

Those Strike tiles seem really deadly though and so I think 3/5/5 is the way to go. Again, thoughts?

Then onto Falcon as he will pair very nicely with Blade, looks like the most ideal build is 5/5/3 right? Doesn't seem like much argument there?

But yeah I am thinking Patch, Blade and Falcon will make a ridiculous team though I just dont like not having any usable Blue or Yellow. Every color is accounted for with match damage though and seeing as this is all about the strike tiles it seems best. Really having Deadpool would be great because his Red is so cheap and benefits the most from addition Strike tiles. What other characters have any combinations of usable Red, Green, Yellow or Blue that are quite cheap and do direct damage?

So Day 400 a yellow Nick Fury....there's that if you werent happy with Devil Dino at day 365.

And while we're on a yellow kick, standard token gave me a yellow Falcon.  Yes I will definitely take that!

Essential nodes went to yellow from so I couldn't do much. Hopefully my flight back from Pittsburgh has WiFi. Man I hate the cold.
 
are you put into groups the more you play. Just wonder  in the new story thing  played  4 games was  2nd with so many points  played 4 more rounds now im  like 44 and first has 2000 pts    came in  8th on the first round  I be happy with top 10 each time to get 100 coins. My cover sucked.

The basic covers any reason to keep them or open as soon as you earn (got like 20 now)

You get placed in a bracket as soon as you start an event. It is generally based on the time you start and some magical numbers that put you in with players around your level. You also get placed in brackets when you start sub-events. These brackets don't necessarily overlap since it depends on when you start the event and sub-events.

I usually wait until I have 10 standards at a time to redeem them, but that is more because they are generally useless at this point. If I need Iso for leveling, I'll redeem them sooner. At a lower level, you have a better chance of getting a cover you need since you can use more covers.

Edit: You can also see how many players are allowed in each event and sub-event. For the current PvE, it's 1000 for both, but sometimes the sub-events have smaller groups.

wonder why it did that then started out ranked 3 and the more i played the lower i got , then again first round said there was only 500 this round says 1000. no chance i make it top 10 or even top 100 this time

 
So Brolying is probably officially over. I jumped in with 45 minutes left on the first time group for Smash Hit. At that time, there were 318. Broly - Subs. You missed the first one, which ended last night.

My bracket finished with 326. 8 people dropped into my bracket in the last 45 minutes. What this essentially means is that if you jump in at the last minute trying to catch a new bracket, that's likely not going to happen. It is pretty nice to be able to pick when you're going to finish though. It gives you an opportunity to kind of plan ahead and schedule how and when you're going to play.

Just checked the alliance scores... how is everyone liking Thieves? I hate this event. The grind is unbearable. And the first sub had that CMags, IM35, Don node... where Don was feeding their defensive and most powerful offensive moves, and he has too many hit points to try and take out first. Ugh. It irritates me just thinking about it.

If I remember correctly, the main nodes are not huge rubber band launching locations, so you're going to want to use that last sub to really take off. Koju, correct me if I'm wrong about that.

It also may be different, since they're only running one sub at a time. Prior times this event ran, it was 2 concurrent subs until the very end.

 
Yeah, the Mags, Iron Man, Don fight was a toughie. I had to take out Mags first before he got that protect move off or else it was all over.

My point rewards are way low, nothing even over 900 yet. How do some of you have 50,000 points or whatever? Are you just grinding super hard?

I was planning on trying to 'broly' the Hulk tournament. I had low level seed teams locked in. But I noticed, I was already ranked. (Which I dont think happened before. You didnt get ranked or put into a bracket until after your first battle?)

Top 10 players all have 300+ points , while I have 0 and am waiting to start.

With the new format of choosing your end time, you are put into a bracket as soon as you choose your time.

I think it's gone both ways on this event. I think it depends on how well the community is performing.

However, if I remember correctly, those main nodes were stupid hard at the end, with level 300+ Maggia in the last few hours.

I'm not going to perform well in this event, but man, Falcon+Daken make for some sweet strike tiles.
