Yeah, I think several of the people we had for a while left for the same reason they joined us.  We weren't going to make top 100, and since every alliance expanded, they bounced to try and find another alliance that would get them the alliance cover.  There seemed to be a few decent people show up towards the end, not enough to make us top 100, but at least it's something.

I was out for most of the last day, but I still managed to get 1 cover.  Finished in the 70's, I wonder how close I was to top 50 point-wise, but I guess it doesn't matter much now.  Already got a new slot for Rocket & Groot, my 44th now.  Also, leveled Daken some since apparently R&G are the reward there too.

glad there is no story mode right now that last one was a major drain even on pc. Ended up with a 3 cover monster (cant remember name came in 9th so got 1 of each color) around 4500 crystals and 100 HP. Ended up 9th with like 145,859 points

only good in story, i suck at verus cause i just started and dont have many people ranked up high. Bring around only 200 pts in those tours. and since im still new (i think i still get a bump, or got put into a weak group) and belive me this past week was awful i mean probally looked in 4 or 5 times per day playing 30 mins each time just to get that. Was a pain the ass. At least with the tablet i could do it during breaks :) or even when im working when noones looking

Still tempted to get a new tablet to play this one. if i can find one DIRT CHEAP thanksgiving i may , but then again hate to restart at day 1.

If you will even just moderately keep up your score you are more than welcome to hop aboard slide, God knows we have quite a few new randoms now that can easily get the boot for you hah

New PvE is up with Thorina! Damn. Stupid event happening during holidays with family. Ugh. Ends Sunday night. Terrible timing. But damn do I want those covers haha

I am not sure how this is structured since it is a new event so whoever starts first should let us know the exact structure and timing of stuff please!

can pc and tablet people be on the same team. only playing on pc right now

 
Profiles don't sync between pc and tablet, but alliances can consist of people from both. Short answer, yes, pc players can be in our alliance.

And even worse, only the top 50 get her cover. Not top 100 like it usually is.

There's also a blue RocketGroot cover avalialbe in the Daken PvP for anyone who thinks they can break top 100 there.

I'm actually off the next two days and dont have much family stuff going (besdie immediate family) so I should be able to play more. Phone's charging issues are fixed.

I had put in a claim to get a new phone before I realized my old non-motorola charger at work still functioned. They're shipping me a samsung galaxy as replacement but I'm not sure I want to switch up or deal with re-linking accounts in all my games.

I set the alliance private and have two kicks in mind. What is your in game name, slidecage? Just want to make sure I don't kick you if you already got in.

Looks like Fera666 and Tallie joined after the Thick as Thieves event. Might as well get the boot unless you had other ideas Koju?

like i said i mostly play story and can get tons of points there but PVP until i start getting some major players in i be lucky to pull 200 to 250 per event there.

love the last alliance i was in. was 2nd in story and 7th in pvp and was kicked this morning LOL

what the hell i had 14 bucks selling off steam cards so i tossed in another 10 and did the 19.99 package. I doubt i will put another penny into the game I figure if i play it until Feb i will get my cash worth. 5 bucks per month i would pay to play this ..

pushed me from 13 slots to 24 slots. Had 25 covers i was saving till i had room to get more people. Open up all 25. 23 were pure junk. 1 thor 1 wolv. i figure i put in 5 to 10 bucks per month on the game so if i can enjoy it up to feb i be happy. Hell i put 60 bucks into wizard 101 for my cousins kids for a year back in July, they played it up to oct and go we are bored with it. That was a waste of 40 bucks LOL

It wasnt a good event, Thick as theives is horrible. At least we have a new event with Rocket and Groot. Thankfully its in the time frame AFTER Tony spent with the GotG. Thats why Rocket and Groot know who Tony is. Makes a better story than if Rocket and Groot show up and no one knows who they are.

I dont know how I feel about this. Im waiting for day 400 for my 3rd Nick Fury cover. Id be happy enough placing top 100 or so just to get the red Ms Marvel. Having 1 cover for Thorbellina is just another roster slot I don have right now. Was thinking about dropping $5 on HP with the sale right now. That would give me enough for 1 roster slot and a 10 pack heroic. Im honestly at a point right now I dont know who I want to level up or what powers I need.

As far as the alliance goes, I dont know if we're all trying for the Groocket top progression reward or we're just bored. A lot of people are at the mid level progression rewards already. I got to the 1st event token, of course nothing good. Oh well. Lets see how long it takes to get 50k for a green Groocket.

Same as here.

I admit the matchmaking, IMO, has been horrible lately and causing me to not give a crap about my scores, but I hit 80k in the recent pve. But I haven't hit top 100 in PvP since the choose your start time change.

Since we only care about PvE as an alliance, you'd be fine.

The new time method has been great for me, but I think I'm in the minority. Hit first place twice, and could have taken first in a third if I wasn't driving all day yesterday. Hoping the trend continues when I make my play in the Daken event - barely managed a 99th place finish at a rest stop with fifteen minutes to go (I may have a problem), and could use some Groot/Rocket covers.


And this is going to end up being Fury week for me. Despite getting all 2*s with my season 10-pack, I pulled 2 Fury covers from other tokens, won one from a first place finish, and will get another in two days from daily rewards. What's crazy is that two of those covers are ones I cannot use.
 
is it just me  or does this story mode thing sort of suck this time. Points are very low unless you do major grinding.

Unless i was stuck in a worse group last time or something. last time at the end of stage one i was like 3rd then fell to 6 and then 7 and ended in 9th.

I be very lucky to even crack the top 50 in the first round

Usually when you start out the day of an event points are very low. Thats why people start later for the increase in points, known as rubber banding. Ive been playing & points arent horrible, not great but just ok. Essential nodes is where you will make up most of your points anyways. I was in the top 10 for my bracket but I know as rubberbanding occurs I'll drop. Still unsure if people REALLY want 4* thor or that top progression reward.

You are, I joined Heavy metal about an hour before an end time. I made it to the pvp token to help my season score. Was in the top 200. Was only trying for a 2* ms marvel cover anyways, since My daken needs purple only. Im not sure how end times work so far. I mean the second you pick one you're ranked, so how exactly do you get a good bracket? There has to be something in the official forums but I think after all the complainers I dont really enjoy reading constant bitching.

My strategy is to decide what end time I can seriously play for an extended period and then pick it with about three hours left on the clock. Then I try to work my way up to about 800 points and see where everyone else is. The first time I ended up in a bracket of 327 and needed to overtake a few folks, the second time I was the fourth person in the bracket and kept the lead pretty much until the end. The best thing is if you pick a later time, enough crazy 2k+ players have already reached the end time and are no longer shielded. You can't affect their score, but they are just sitting out there as juicy targets. And since they are out there, you aren't as exciting a target at 30 points to anyone else looking to do the same thing.

Both times I was able to get out front quickly and then sit for the last hour or so and watch how close things are. Load up some 50 point nodes and make sure you can play that last 10-15 minutes to lock in placement.

All of that relies on having a team that can reliably take down a 249/166/166 team, so I recognize this will not work for everyone.

so when there is timed pvp its best to pick the latest time? i been picking the first one (since i can play until the deadline) most deadlines are like midnight est and i leave for work some days at 9pm

i know first round of the story thing is going to suck for me. Usually try to play it when i get up around 9am, then when i get off my first job around 3 and then mess with it at work like at 7 and 10 (so mostly 4 times a day or so) but with thanksgiving i be lucky to check in at 8 and then 4 and then out shopping rest of the night. Hopefully the rest of the people are too since i may get home before the midnight end time and get a 3rd rd in. BUt i doubt i finish in the top 50 (right now i have like 7500 points and ranked 69 Ouch)

Later times are best for me, but not for everyone. If you are gunning for a particular reward, pick an end time you can actually play. Picking a later time that is five hours past when you can resaonably play will take your placement completely out of your control. Unfortunately, both PvP and PvE require playing in the last hour if you want to place as high as you can. Now, if you are satisfied with getting to 300 points for the event token, it doesn't really matter what end time you pick.

How I think anyone should pick an end time:
  • Peruse the list and figure out which end time works best with your schedule and reward goal.
  • If more than one time will work, use the latest one.
  • Select the start/stop time when you are ready to start playing, and not a minute sooner.
Pay attention to how long it takes you to get to point milestones without buying health packs (using them is okay). 300 is a good one, as is every hundred after 500. The good and bad boards will even out, and you'll be able to accurately predict the time needed to reach your target.


I should be clear that some of my strategies are horrible ideas for some of you - not that you aren't good players, but that you just don't have the rosters yet. I spent months perfecting my Ares/OBW team, and another couple of months with Hulk/GSBW, then some time with Hood/Steve and Hood/Thor. Each one of those teams were great for the level of play I was in, so I'm not knocking them. Now I roll with XForce/Daken, and it's like a knife through butter in most of my matches - and I'm still not at the top tier of play yet.

Game save is backed up with facebook, not Google play for some reason. I have cross platform save data and can play the same game on both my Kindle Fire HD and My Htc EVO 3D... I apparantly like devices that end in D's. Though both are rooted and titanium backup isnt a bad idea. I usually just use TB to uninstall apps and bloatware I dont want.

Wow this event is no joke, I can in early and was in the top 10. I knew it wouldnt stay that way but I wasnt expecting to be close to top 200. Im going to get a Cap Marvel cover in the end because there's no way (unless I lock myself in a room and play nonstop for the next 24 hours) Even letting the nodes recharge Im only looking at points in the upper 600s. I wonder if those who wait for later will catch up with rubberbanding. The top players in my node already have 20k, Im only at 8 I think,

Anyways then there's roster slots, Gamoras coming up. I still dont have a blue for Daredevil and I finally got a 2nd green for Doc Ock a while back. Sad to say Im still working on my patch too, but hey I have a level 200 X-force, so there's that.

I backed up using facebook. It's my personal facebook account I never log into. Really hard to compete in this event w/o the required RockGroot character. I'm hoping to get one from the Daken tournament and then play late catch up if possible.

Me too. Currently sitting at 500pts at 65th place but that will change later on. Just building up pts.

The Jugg headbutt is killing me. Taking at least 2k hp per hit. Going to be doing the gray/green nodes just got stock on the 200-300 pts until i get a Groot
 
hopefully alot of people go out shopping and going to miss the end for the  Story even. Right now ranked like 60th   hope i can sneak into the top 50 and get at least 50 coins 

Was this just a  Bad PVP  or  does  12 people usually dont play  in the pvps. i mean rank 1400 is that normal?

missed a node never seen it.   Done for the night in the first round. ending at rank 56 with 21,000 points guessing it will be pushed down to  70 or so be the end of the event

. Sucks i missed out any any  HP.... hopefully rd 2 can get more points

first playthough rd 2    ended at  30th.  now down to 70 :(

going to guess this round is going to have tons of points. Mostly just fighting the AI without them hitting back.

In the 5k now. I find using Spidey and Falcon on the easy courses help with the goons attack.

Rewards for the next  PvP event (Rocket/Groot) are Psylocke. Who I already have maxed at 5/3/5. Oh well, after I pick up a Grooket from the Daken tournament I should be able to do the essential nodes. Not sure I can work up to 50th place for the Lady Thor. :sad:

I was in Skynet 2.0 for a bit but they went from being a retirement community for less hardcore players to wanting 2 top 50 (or higher) alliances. I didn't want the pressure of 700 plus in PvP and given the changes to matchmaking with the start time changes I was right to excuse myself.
 
Well Im having good/bad luck with token pulls.  I guess I shouldnt complain, I could have crappy pull luck and not get anything decent.  Just a shame to see my Groocket tokens give me 2 gold covers that I couldnt use: Green Hulk and a Yellow sex force. Im really kinda bummed about x-force, saw that cover pop, heart started racing. Shit, Yellow! I have 5 in yellow.  Thunder suggested making 2 x-forces, but damn thats iso I dont have to pump into another & another roster slot as well.  I think if I had another x-force that would make 2 yellows for him. There's just something that hurts about trading in a 4* cover for 1k iso, even if I cant use it.

I guess I just broly'd the daken pvp, either that or everyone really is out shopping today.  Was going to wait for a later time, but had an hour to kill.  Picked one with 46 minutes left, played a couple rounds, #11. I figured ok, I got a new bracket in like a couple battles I'll be in the top 100.  Nope every battle I played I was in the top 25, couldnt break into the top 10 though.  Looking at the rewards thats ok with me. Only diff was some iso & hp, no covers unless in top 5.  That'll help with the event, although puts my Groocket at 1/0/2, better than nothing, hopefully I can snag a green in pve, only 20k more points until the top progression reward!

only the first week i played was i ever able to get into the top 50

how does the timed events work.

meaning say the event started

end times

Saturday 11 am

Saturday 3pm

Saturday 8 pm.

If i picked the saturday 11 am and say the team is in 502 at the end of my time but at 8pm end of last nod the rank is 88. would i get the 502nd place item or the 88 place item. Cause right now it shows the team rank when the time is up on my event (meaning i think it might be wiser to just keep picking the latest time)
