I think I found my handle on PVP, either that or people are way too focused on the Groocket event. Personally, I just want to stay in the top 150, I can use a 3* Cap marvel cover more than a single thorgarita cover. I know broken record but its true. For the folks that get that 1 Thorina cover, I will make sure to avoid you in the pvp, with my measley 1 cover loaner thorella.
OK back to PvP, I think I found a "sweet spot" but as I said this craze for 4* Thor may whats stealing that "Thunder" lol I know that was bad, couldnt help it. What Ive found from the past 2 events and making top 25 in both: Play for ~1 hour, pick a time that is somewhere in the middle. I think both times Ive had to wait a day for the PVP to end so I can get the alliance rewards. With the Groot PVP & now the Psylocke one, Ive got to around 400 pts and made top 25. I always shoot for my goal to be at least the PVP tournament token. I spend about the first half hour fighting seed teams. Yes seed teams. It very awkward only getting seed teams loaded up, but I play em and I fight em. No sense skipping for better points, they're an easy 20 points a pop. Also they wont retaliate and 20 points is a better value than some other higher ranked opponents that will retaliate may give you. Usually after the 2nd half hour you'll rank up high enough to get some real opponents in the 30-40 point range. By that time the battles will take a little longer and before you know it you've got 5 minutes left until the tournament is over for you.
So thats my take on it so far, you know you've done it right when after playing through 3 seed teams you see your score only increasing. I know many are used to 1 battle they're in the top 50 & then 5 minutes later you're in the top 200. From what Ive played it hasnt worked that way. 2-3 battles if your score stays in the mid 20's more than likely you're staying in the top 25. I only hope that my theory is correct as blade is the reward in the new Psylocke tournament.
So Groocket, Im going to lay this out there: He is what Beast shouldve been and opposed to balancing beast they just made a new character. I love Groocket and he's fun to play but seriously, he's beast. Blue makes special tiles, Green for direct damage, and yellow for healing. Although with Groocket its true healing, and thats why I think I like him better. Nothing more fun than having little to no health, make a yellow match and Groocket makes a crazy cascade and gets half his health back. So far hes been playing nice with X-force as well. All that yellow healing goodness.
