Marvel Trading Card Game: Worth it?

Just testing the waters here. Is this game worth burning my final GGC for? Should I construct a B2G1 comprised of meh games to land this one? Is it even all that good?

If i am correct i believe this game has a major bug in it that causes it to not be playable all the way through, apparently the manufacturer is trying to do something about that but I would not buy a used copy as you may get stuck with a buggy game unless you can return any and all games to the publisher.
Don't you mean the SNK Vs. Capcom Trading Card game?
Yeah, that's the SNK vs. Capcom game, unless this one has an identical bug that I've never heard of.

i am an avid fan of trading card games (i play magic almost exclusively but have "dabbled" in others).. the consensus I have come to with the TCG version (have not played this title on a handheld yet) is that the Vs. system has a very complex rules set that doesn't translate well in digital form..

there are 5 TCGs with varying levels of rules complexity i'll list them..

Yu Gi Oh (1. very easy) Pokemon (2. easy) Magic the gathering (i'd put this at the "normal" for easy to understand but complex) Star Wars CCG (4 hard.. the old one not the new game... this game had rules every expansion and was very very hard to understand later in the games lifespand) and VS. (5. very hard..similar to star wars in that it adds a bunch of rules regularly)

given that Magic (the industry "standard" for trading card games) is very hard to program for (see Magic Online, and the delay of Magic Online V.3. because of how hard it is to incorporate the game rules in a playable computer program) you can see how it is very hard to get the nuances of the game if the mechanics are above "kid level" rules..

given me and my friends (we've been playing trading card games since 95-96) had troubles figuring out the rule set for VS.you can see how people new to the genre can feel.. I would only recommend the game to fans of VS. or extremely extremely hardcore fans of Marvel.. as it will take time to get the nuances down and the game mechanics will not be obvious right away... if you really love the idea.. try going to a hobby store and learning the "paper" version of the game first before purchasing this.. it will make your life a lot easier.

I'm playing the PC version right now and it doesn't seem that difficult.

It also should friggen auto-pass if none of my cards can friggen play. It HIGHLIGHTS what can play, so it couldn't possibly have been hard to add a check for that.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. I just became the first person to EVER be beaten by Rhino. For shame.

The ds version is horrible compared to psp. It seem like the programmers got lazy, it's a straight up port of psp version rathen then adjusting to ds settings. Almost everything is worst ranging from graphics, sounds or gameplay. It also more confusing on ds version then psp, even wombat and cheapy can't figure it out, neither could i. Just get the psp version, avoid ds version.

I'm almost done with the hero campaign. This is one freaking long game. The interface takes a while to get used to, but I've eventually grown to like it. I don't know how different it is on the PSP, but the stylus works well for me.

The really good thing is that there is a huge collection of cards available in the game, so I've been able to completely change my deck after almost every chapter, and fine tune it while I'm playing through the individual missions. I've only been able to really focus on decks with X-Men and Avengers (the early ones were a mash-up of different teams), so there's a lot more options to explore. I got this when it first came out, and I've only briefly played other games (except for Godfather on the Wii).

I'm probably more addicted to this than I was to Puzzle Quest. It's just that awesome to me. And for anyone having trouble learning the basic rules, I think the UDE VS system homepage had an interactive flash tutorial. I remember trying that out a long time ago, and it was pretty good.
