Marvel V.S. Capcom 2 - PS2 $34.99 USED @ Gamestop

Well I suppose if you're stuck in the PS2 gen then this isn't a bad deal...but it's still kinda crazy that it's 35 used when you can get it on the Marketplace or PSN for 15...

Let the fall begin. I feel sorry for the people who spent ridiculous prices for a ps2 copy of this game only to now see a superior hd version with online released and a fight stick celebrating the rerelease to boot. Many swore that this would never be rereleased in any form due to licensing issues and they turned out to be dead wrong. Anyone with a copy of this should sell it now while people are still crazy or uninformed enough to pay top dollar for it.

Anyone willing and able to waste top dollar on this would do better to put the money towards a Wii system and/or copy of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. You may even like that game better than Marvel.

Yeah, I guess this wouldn't be bad for those that are fighting game collectors out there. Personally I'll be purchasing it on PSN when I get my PS3 & my MvC fightstick @ GS this week.

It is a bad deal when you consider you can get the superior Dreamcast version for cheaper off ebay. Both the PS2 and Xbox versions of this game have frame rate issues.

Yeah, I'd pick this up for $10 or less for the sake of adding it to my game collection, but $15 for online play & in HD is my preferred version of choice.

Not to mention that you can get Blaz Blue brand new (if you find a sealed copy...ungutted) for less than this.

You forgot the 'with no resell rights' part of that statement about getting it on XBL or PSN though.

Even though I can't stand the Street Fighter kind of fighting games, I'd rather have a physical copy of it rather than a digital download I overpaid for.

No DD is worth over $5.

Yeah. I'd pay $5 for ANY downloadable game, but over that is pushing it since there's no resell rights.

That's why if digital distribution comes to pass within the next couple of gens and is the main way to get games, I'm done as a gamer.

I agree that I value a complete copy more than digital download, but I disagree that no DD is worth over $5.

I felt Savage Moon was great at $10, and Wipeout HD at $10-$20. Braid to some, though I wasn't into it.

It's more correct to say DD at physical verion's MSRP is never worth it.

True. Like the one Burnout game on PSN($30, last I checked)and Siren, which has a physical version available(overseas, I think).

The only DLC I found tolerable at $10 was the Red Faction prequel stuff that I bought and played through.

These fell greatly after they became available for download. Much like FFVII and how they have dropped too. But the copies that I always find at the Gamestops around me are always scratched to hell and I take them home, try to play them, and they don't play, and end up bringing them back anyways. :*(

[quote name='thebytewasbit']I know you maybe wondering why I'm posting this since it's not an amazing deal, however after having checked ebay, it seems that some copies are going for upwards of $50-$60 used. There's not guarantee what condition this is in if your GS has a used copy, but for $35 I think it's worth a shot.

If i can find sealed copy for $40 is a steal deal :)

Lol, most i paid for a copy was 40. (Brought one at release, got bored and traded it, then realized how rare it was getting and rebrought for 40 used, then some douche of a friend stole my copy >_>, atleast i nabbed his Legend of Zelda 4 Game Compilation disc for Gamecube).

This is actually on sale for 800 microsoft points on Xbox Live right now. You'd have to be stupid to consider buying a used, possibly scratched PS2 version which has no online, requires you to unlock all the characters, and has supposed frame rate problems. And for $25 more.

Amen. That is also when I hang up the controller.

Wow, this thing dropped in price pretty quickly after the digital releases, I havent checked since I decided to let go of my copy for $80, which back then was average.

I have my original Dreamcast copy but I think it's ridiculous people would rather buy a nearly $100 for a weak port on PS2 instead of getting the DC version AND a Dreamcast for less. Maybe the controller would be better but that's not a huge deal.

I hear you. That game is one of the main reasons why I still play my DC.

though you're right, DEAD WRONG is a bit strong considering it took ten years to happen... and I would suggest anyone who is interested in the game to jump soon (dlc version) because with that activision crap it's hard to guarantee it will remain purchasable.

Not everyone wants yet another system hooked up to clutter everything. Besides, if you're not a fanatic (which if you are then you own this or have played the hell out of it already) then this version is completely playable.

Maybe we can play a couple rounds on PSN sometime then.

I love it. Its the dreamcast port of the game which is the best console port ever as its damn near identical to the arcade.

Yes but exactly how many people own a ps2 and have it hooked up it vs people who still own a dreamcast and have it hooked up? There are probablly more ps2 systems hooked to peoples tv right now than the entire number of dreamcasts ever sold.

What I mean is it crazy that people would pay more for a dvd copy of a movie thats also on hd-dvd? Cause I mean the hd-dvd version is the superior version that would automatically make it the more expensive one right?

Not to mention its rare game for ps2 because its run was shorter.

I agree with you for the most part here. Ive gotten a couple for more than 5 but were talking like 2 games over 5 and thats it.

But I agree thats also why I dont like DD. Plus if I buy a game off a shelf I can play it in 15 years if I want to, just like I did with my NES yesterday. With a DD who is say that in 15 years the service will still be up and with consoles going towards re purchasing DD instead of backward compatibility a game I buy on the ps3 DD may not work on the ps5 in 15 years, if the service is even still up. Pc games are worse since there is no guarntee a game out now will work on whatever version of windows is out in 15 years.

But when I buy a game its mine. I can loan it to a friend, I can sell it, I can trade it or I can keep it and play it again it in 35 years and most of all the, the game belongs to me and me alone. I dont need to log in to a account, I dont need to verify my game via internet authentication, I dont have to wait to download it again because its in my hand and it belongs to me.
