Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition (PS3) in-stock at Amazon

Only seven left. I would pick it up that price if I hadn't have heard how terrible the ending was. I really want to be excited, but I just think I will wait for a price drop for the normal game.
If you're selling on eBay or Amazon, after they take their cuts, you're really not making much. Take into account the risk of getting scammed, and it doesn't seem worth it. More power to you if you're making it worth it.
lol, if you accpet payments with paypal, chances are low of getting scammed.
anyone remmeber when mario all-stars came out for wii? i was able to flip those for $80, flipped about 15 copies.
Flipped one, was trading one here for a copy of Star Ocean Second Evolution guide ($45ish at the time) when Mario was still $70. Then a few days later, there was news of a reprint, after I removed it from Amazon Marketplace. The guy stopped responding after that... Was annoyed, and might have been when I stopped trading on CAG.

Within the next couple of weeks there will be another 500+ copies....reprints or whatever you want to call it?!?
5-10k? I guarantee the number is WELL beyond those figures. The first Mass Effect game probably had LE numbers around 5-10k. With how popular this game series is and with how popular LE versions have become, I am betting they had at least 100k copies made.
Even if they produced 100,000 copies of the limited version for both consoles (PC doesn't count), that is well below the installed user base of the XBox 360 and the PS3 for North America.

Eventually, about half or more of those versions will be opened, kept or re-sold somewhere down the line so 'brand new' copies of the limited edition will only be more and more scarce as time goes on.

Take the "Halo 3: Legendary Edition"; There were probably about 500,000+ copies of that version made and nearly 5 years after the release date, the value of the Legendary Edition (brand new, factory sealed) is commanding a bit less ($20.00 on average) of what it originally retailed for on Ebay. Amazon listings have fluctuated in price but the fact remains that no more 'brand new/factory sealed' versions of the Legendary Edition will ever be produced again. I can only imagine how crazy things will get once Halo 4 is released and all the 'new' Halo Fanatics are going to be clamoring for the previous limited editions of the game.

I am returning my mass effect 3 CE edition for ps3. I just saw they have very good copies for 55 bucks. I will just return. Maybe it will not be that limited. Also, I have a huge backlog, so I would not play this game in a while anyway
If you're planning on downloading the DLC 'From Ashes', I think you might as well just buy the CE.
Not true. The game is definitely going to drop price. I mean, it's definitely going to be greatest hits or whatever. And let's not forget those GOTY editions with all DLC.

Friendly heads up-Just cancelled my resident evil preorder at GameStop, asked if they'd sell me one of the unclaimed ME3 collectors editions (360) and they did-finally! They said they had at least 10. This is at the Sugarhouse, UT location. If your local GS shows stock on the website it's worth a shot.

so much for being rare. pretty dumb move by ea reprinting these.

lol how is it a dumb move by EA? They sell more copies of ME3 and at $80, pretty smart if you ask me

Yes, there will be a price drop...yes there will likely be platinum hits version sometime down the road...as for a GOTY with DLC, probably not....EA doesn't have a habit of putting those out....EA rather drop the price and move units and then have you buy the DLC....ME2 for PS3 was exception and that came out much later than the Xbox version and fairly high price point ($60), so they likely felt they needed a little extra to increase the value proposition of a version that came out almost a year after it was on the Xbox.

I just don't understand how the guy makes the logical leap from "my GS has 10 released" to "EA reprinted these."

I also don't agree about the "reprinting" assumption. The 360 CE is still OoS at online retailers such as amazon, best buy, gamestop, tru, walmart, etc. If they reprinted copies, I am pretty sure they would reprint them across all platforms, not just PS3.

These remaining copies are just that, remaining copies.

Amazon has a generous return policy, many of the CE editions purchased were either people trying to resell, people buying thinking it would be difficult to get later, or people who ordered from 2nd tier stores that might not have been able to secure inventory. Amazon will probably get a few thousand more returns through April 6th as these people return copies.
There is close to 0% chance ea is reprinting, most people that really want it have been able to purchase it and if they did reprint, resellers would return existing stock.
hoping ea is not reprinting. i just bought 3 from aamazon.
Ok, so why would you care if there is a reprint or not. It's not like there is any money to be made on this "collector's edition" now anyway. Presumably you bought this to play and to give two as gifts to friends and family members, right?

If you're willing to hang on to them for at least a year, you'll make about double what you paid for each copy. The Mass Effect series is from Bio Ware and they do not screw around when they say "limited" edition.

Case in point; Last year when "Dragon Age II" was released, people who pre-ordered the game received the "Signature Edition" which was basically just like the regular edition, but with a different cover and free DLC codes.

The "Signature Edition" disappeared from retailers very fast, within about 10 days and some big box retailers never even stocked the "Signature Edition". About 14 days after the release, people were still able to get lucky when other people did not pick up their pre-orders, etc. at places like Gamestop. A month after the game was released, no brick and mortar retail Gamestop (at least in my area of operations) had long since sold out.

Mass Effect 3 N7 Edition is limited. It hasn't even been a month yet since the game came out and everyone is already jumping to conclusions that the game has been "reprinted" or was never really "limited" in the first place.

It has a strong enough fanbase who will spend money on it to warrant the rarity of all the limited editions of the games which have been released.

actually, the signature ed. popped up on both amazon and gamestop within a few months of release day proving it wasn't as rare as believed- many people here were pissed.

A quick look at DAII signature edition prices on ebay shows that your reasoning to be false....folks would be lucky to get their all of their capital back after fees and expenses on that game nowadays. And there were exactly 4 new DAII signature editions (PS3 & Xbox) sold on ebay by US sellers over the last 2 weeks....not exactly a hot bed of activity.

EA clearly produced many more ME3 CEs than ME2 CEs, and given the way the game pans out, I seriously doubt there will be lots folks who bought the ME3 regular edition that will have the burning need to go buy the CE...There will be some for sure, but far fewer than with ME2 (ME2 CE exclusive armor and gun were quite useful...ME3 has tons of guns and armor for everyone, so the CE goodies aren't that valuable for folks looking for help for an insanity run achievement).....so lower post release demand and higher supply of CEs....Yeah, that's something to speculate in.

Next you'll be saying that house prices can never drop and can only go up.

It was $59.99. People were paying upwards of $150 for a copy during release week because they were supposedly only available for early preorders. It was the same exact concept as Assassin's Creed Revelations Signature Edition or Dead Island Special Edition.

Just a regular jewel case but different artwork and exclusive DLC. If the game hadn't bombed and gotten such bad reviews I think the signature edition may be worth more money... but it is rare(r) then most titles and there hasn't been a reprint.

I would assume some will start showing up in the Warehouse Deals eventually, if not already. I returned the first copy they sent me because I could hear the discs rumbling around inside. Just got my replacement today, in a bubble mailer

Why they'd send the first one in a box and the second in a bubble mailer I don't know. Service rep told me they couldn't replace it again since they're out of stock. Offered me a $10 promo. Kinda wondering if I would have been better off hoping the discs from the first one had harmless scratching rather than settling for the dinged up box I have now...

I ordered one Used - Like New for $59.99 from Warehouse Deals. Glad I waited.
My Best Buy still has a few copies left new for PS3 for $79.99, worth it??
I don't think so. I could easily see a 60$ price on Amazon in the coming months.
