lol  (Bioware make that a possible ending.) ;)

Oh man, I'm so freaking excited for this! Since they identified where you need to start to experience the new content, it sounds like it will be sprinkled throughout the end segments, not just cinema's tacked onto the end. At least that's what I get from it. I need to watch the videos now, but I'm just way stoked for new content. Great stuff!

And DEATH TO MARAUDER SHIELDS!!!!
I'm guessing they increased the amount of points you get from each mission and/or faction. Basically a 100% playthrough without multiplayer means all endings are possible now.

That's a good thing since I don't want to play the multiplayer before seeing this "enhanced ending" of theirs.
Makes me wonder if they'll recalculate the EMS settings after EC is installed.

On my #1 PT, I think I had an EMS up around in the low 7Ks before the 50% reduction for my readiness rating, with having done just about every side mission and hub mission, plus all the N7 missions. Worth checking out to see before installing EC, I think.

To the handful of guys on the board here, who I know are hardcore ME fans, but don't really care for MP....I suggest you give it a try and jump into 4 or 5 rounds of MP with a few of the guys from the board here. It'll dramatically and quickly increase your readiness after just a few rounds, you'll have a fun social time with some of the regular gang here and it may open you up to a new aspect of the ME universe. I was not looking forward to MP in my ME, and I'm not an MP guy at all, but I'm having a lot of fun with it and it's both because it's ME gameplay and almost even moreso because of the chit chat with decent folks like Simosaurus, Spybreaker and so on

I know I'll be on tonight for a few rounds, let me know if you'd like to jump into a game.

The only time I get a chance to use my 360 due to other time commitments I have is later evenings on Fri and Sat nights. I know that once you start doing MP and don't do it, you end up with decreasing GR percentages on a daily basis. I didn't want get into that trap where one day's worth of MP would get eroded by 6 days worth of non-gameplay.

I don't usually do MP, but I really did enjoy my time with it, just lame that they force you to do it to get any decent % of galactic readiness, it's good enough on its own that you didn't need to force it.

Now as to the ending, I have always maintained this is a horrible idea if for no other reason than it will please no one, it's just not possible. They fucked it up sure, but video games are filled with shit endings, move on people.

I'll prolly play some this weeked to help boost dat Readiness.

Ah at last the extended cut. This is make or break for Bioware IMHO. While the ending might have pissed off many, the extended cut gives them one last chance to amend with the fanbase. Granted I'll probably still buy Bioware games regardless of the outcome I think many of my friends don't feel the same.

Gonna try and be optimistic that the EC will bring a satisfying ending to the series. I want answers based on the choices we made, so hopefully it provides that much at least.

I'll hit the MP this weekend as well to boost my readiness back up a little bit, GT is Cydoniac if you feel like adding me

i think the MP is fun just to play as all the different species. krogan vanguard, geth infiltrator, vorcha, turian, etc. it sucks unlocking them because that could take who knows how long, but you might get lucky and unlock a few right off the bat

I'm glad I managed to check this board. I probably would have missed out on the Extended Cut!

I'll certainly be on this weekend, if you all need help or want to play with a fellow CAG. GT is grizzlebo. I'm also going to try to complete the goals for this weekend, so I'll probably be one of the required classes for the squad goal.
does bioware know that the various Infiltrators have some seriously strong abilities and combos? and who doen't want to cloak? ppl like cloaking...and in a game where you're not getting sniped back, and you are the sniper? yeah...invisible finger of god wielder is very popular in games. 33% seems small esp since the Geth infiltrator is just so much fun and powerful.

I suppose since everyone else figured biotic combos were more efficient, that makes up the rest of the statistics.

the only thing I noticed broken or not working as intended re cloak was the dmg bonus while cloaking still applied for a second or two after you popped out of cloak. I think the other problem was it wasn't properly penalized for recharge/weight.
The deeply saddening thing for me is that BioWare decides to do things negatively.

So, they'll nerf TactCloak, rather than buff other classes to be in line with the Infiltrator.

Of course, whatever's easiest to do.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut hits next week

BioWare confirms June 26 launch for release of additional endgame content for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of sci-fi RPG.

Mass Effect 3 fans hoping for resolution on the game's resolution won't have to wait much longer. BioWare today announced that Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut would be released for free on June 26.
Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut is almost here.

Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut is almost here.

Set for release as a free downloadable content pack, the Extended Cut will add more cutscenes and content to the game's epilogue. BioWare has said the additional scenes will "include deeper insight to Commander Shepard's journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers."

According to a FAQ on BioWare's official site, "The Extended Cut expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 through additional scenes and epilogue sequences. It provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for. It gives a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings."

After Mass Effect 3's March debut, some fans vocally expressed their distaste for the endgame, saying the conclusion (which was capped off by one of three largely similar cutscenes) did not sufficiently reflect player choices made over the course of the trilogy. F

Yes I agree the MP was something I wasn't looking forward to in ME and again I agree that MP is largely enjoyable with relation to your group. I've had a few good random games but more than likely it'll be fun times with people you know. The highlight for me yesterday was heavy meleeing an Atlas as a Vorcha and then doing its quick side step to dodge the fist pound counter-attack every time. haha

I'm wondering if XBL won't have any issues with speed come Tuesday with everyone trying to download the 1.9GB extended cut.

I very highly doubt that.
fuck, is it seriously that big? That'll take me days to download here. :bomb:
Man I feel yah, I used to struggle with that constantly. Then it wasn't the speed but how much I could download. I've also upgraded to a 320 GB HDD so yeah I will understand people's anguish with the 20GB model.

Well, just played a few rounds of MP to boost my readiness back up a little. Its painful with the lower-class weapons that I had. Did get a Geth Engineer though so maybe I'll give it another shot if the EC doesnt suck

Might play a few bronze and silver tonight just to grind some readiness or something. Down for legit gold games if anyone's around too. If you see me on, shoot me an invite!

did they say what they were going to do with cloaking? if it's literally fixing the perks that are not being used as original designed, CD, weight, dmg bonus after popping out of cloak etc...then it's not really a nerf imo just unfortunate.

I think buffing the other classes wouldn't be a better fix than adjusting a single skill...because for the most part we're winning. Buffing more classes would probably get us buffing the enemy down the road. The rebellion classes and wpns are uber, I don't think the cloak will suffer that much but I'm optimistic.

My Bat Sent is lvl 13? I got kicked from multiple parties in Bronze trying to do the challenge. I said into the mic...this is bronze, my combined N7 rating is greater than all of yours combined. I finally was able to do full extraction with the right mix. Getting booted from bronze...lol. It boggles the mind.

The people who have married themselves to IT are going to implode basically. I think things will be fine here but the BioWare forums are going to be an apocalyptic flamescape.

My wife was making fun of Mass Effect yesterday, she called it romance novels for men. I was hard-pressed to disagree.

Professional wrestling is a man's soap opera.

Thankfully, my girl ended up just as invested in ME as I did, so we're able to make fun of eachother. She seriously stood in front of the TV on my ME2 playthrough and demanded I stop flirting with Garrus, and that he was hers.

Really not expecting a ton from EC, but as someone who wasn't really THAT mad to begin with, I'll happily check it out to see what it's made of. Got my GR rating up to about 85, so hopefully that's enough for...whatever. If it's good, awesome, but if not I think I'll be alright.

Is it confirmed that you have to start replaying at
Cronos Station? I imagine some of the new content might be different factions you've aligned with popping up along the way during the Earth segments. I was prepared to just load my immediate pre-Citadel save, but I suppose playing through that last part won't take so long.

Does anyone remember the numbers on whatever nerf the Kyrsae got? The shit's still super good, and should be illegal on Kroguards.
So, who else is going to stay away from the forums for a few days after the EC comes out tomorrow?
Hah, I think you'll be fine with how strict this board is of spoilers with the anal use of spoiler tags.

Yeah I know what you're talking about but f romance novels AREN'T INTERACTIVE! /rant

Played some MP last night and I got into a random game via quick match. Well I start out as the team has playing a bit. I later notice, considering how hard the enemies were to take down, that I was playing on GOLD!? Oh shit, yeah we did it but it was a brutal taxing gaming session (my lower level Drell Vanguard was not setup to go Geth Gold) lol. I wish you could have an option to do any random difficulty but Gold haha. I got a lot of money out of that run though. :bouncy:

Krysae Sniper Rifle
- Damage reduced from [531.2-664.0] to [476.0-595.0]

Rest assured they still have plenty of time to make it worse. For now the "Balance" Nerd Alliance on BSN is too busy aiming their pitchforks and torches at Infiltrators to put the final nail in the coffin.

Ha! That's a pretty good description. I know I'm not going to see much of the EC tomorrow unless I institute a patented ChubbyNinja "Bad Decision Tuesday" but that shit gets me in trouble! Still....this is mass effect we're talking about here.

Nah, she just wanted dat catface to herself. I wasn't gonna fight her, because the second I start that battle is the second I begin questioning everything about myself.

Also, even though I still dig playing multi every now and then, I don't see any nerfs turning me off of it anymore than has happened naturally. I got a solid three months out of a game I was determined to dislike the multiplayer for; I've gotten way more than my money's worth out of it.

Also helps that I kinda don't play Infiltrator much anymore. What exactly are they lobbying for over at BSN? I do everything in my power to stay away from that shit.

Thanks for the DMG numbers, by the way.

I don't understand the whole Garrus romance deal. I mean, he's awesome, dat voice, and he's my bro 4 lyfe, but really? He's got an exoskeleton. He's basically a bug.

Must be a girl thing.

really the nerfing just affects gold runs in the end, bronze and silver are pretty much a cake walk for all of us at this point (w/our unlocks and just plain experience).

...but how much nerfing would really affect gold anyway? we still have rockets, and combos are still insanely effective if not borderline op. add to that a cohesive squad and sometimes even a squad w/comms and there is nothing we can face punch or biotic combo to full extraction.

The only reason Asari love doesn't get hate is because it's an indictment of the entire Japanese population.

probably the voice and the charisma. look at some celebrities husbands, you think Christina Hendricks would/could be with someone with more hollywood good looks...but hey, he might just know the combination to turn her dial.

...a catbug, a charming catbug w/a sniper rifle.

The better question is what aren't they lobbying for at this point. It's the same cycle that plagues every MP mode in every game. Extremely selfish vocal minority with an ear to the powers that be doing everything in their power to tweak the game to their personal preferences regardless of the majority's opinion on it. After all they know best, right? Then have the nerve to wonder why the game dies so fast while they migrate to the next one to rui- er... "balance". My mistake.

I give one or two more free DLC packs before I completely abandon it. I always thought co-op modes were immune to this sort of bullshit and now that I'm wrong I'm tempted to retire to MP altogether. Never fails when comes to this cycle I'm always on the losing end of it. Now it seems whenever I find something I like I'm playing on borrowed time and I hate wasting money.

Resident Evil 6 is my last hope.

I think the other appeal to them is...they swing both ways.

Interestingly enough, in regards to Garrus, the art team actually put a lot of time and effort into studying angles and facial structure that females find appealing during his concept phase. It's a hard sell just looking at him, but I feel like his overwhelming female fanbase lends a good deal of credibility to their studies.

Also, Batman.

I thought that was Thane?

I had read that Garrus was never intended to be a romance option until fans asked for it, whereas Thane was designed from the get-go to be appealing to the female audience.

Regardless of intent, I read the exact same about Garrus and the Turians. Either way, it seems pretty clear which race it worked out for. I did read that about Thane too, though.

Oddly enough, most dudes I know personally who played Femshep ended up going for Thane. They may have unintentionally worked a little backwards with the Drell, now that we're discussing it, hahaha.

This. You're right on. It was the fans showing the love for Garrus that led to him being a romance option. They, the bioware team, kept referencing deviant art as inspiring the decision.

Garrus is a bad muh scratcher, tho. He's my boy. Every mission. Every game.

I'm trying to so hard to find the article I read. It was straight from some of the concept guys and super interesting. I'ma keep diggin' throughout the day; I think you guys would like it.

Just to be doubly clear, I know the mention of Thane's lady-science in the art book. I feel like what I'm talking about came way of CGhub or something. It's also solely based on design, not the demand for a bangable Garrus. Damnit!

Was it the video from before ME3 came out where they first showed Garrus' new ME3 armor design maybe? I think I remember them talking a bit about how they originally designed Turians in that one. Maybe not.
Bioware's plan all along, indoctrinate all of BSN?

Per the mods on the BSN, the new required EMS (locked in at the start of the Cronos Station mission) to "see all of the scenes" in the Extended Cut (read, presumably,
Shepard lives
) is 3100. So, that's 6200 War Assets with no multiplayer/Datapad, or 3100 War Assets with 100% Readiness from multiplayer/Datapad.
