Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
Someone correct me if I'm mistaken:

1.) 3100 after the EC is downloaded, if you meant the requirement for the "best" ending.
2.)
Cronos Station is the point of no return. Upon selecting this mission, your score is tallied, you lock in your EMS and either get the Master and Commander achievement or not.
3.) You have to download the Extended Cut DLC on your own.
1) Correct on that point, it is 3100 EMS for all the endings.
2) Also correct. When you get to that point, you're locked into the endgame with
Cronos Station and Earth
. Any remaining side/hub/other missions are inaccessible after that point.
3) It needs to be downloaded and installed before the point of no return, as it won't fix it after that point.

And speaking of that, I finally finished the game on my 2nd/Renegade Adept playthrough. #1/Paragon Vanguard will be this weekend.

First off, I compared the endings pre-EC and post-EC for
Destroy
and there's no comparison between them. Pre-EC, there's lots of "WTF happened here?", post-EC, there's some very good closure.
This is correct. I think M&C pops a bit later, right before you go to Earth.
M&C for me came up when I had 3100 EMS before the endgame chunk. I think I was doing a hub or N7 mission and hit that point before the endgame.
1) Correct on that point, it is 3100 EMS for all the endings.
I just completed the game with less than 3000 and saw the "best" ending
Destroy; breath scene
. Seems the wiki is incorrect.
I just completed the game with less than 3000 and saw the "best" ending

All I know I that I was close to 3400 EMS and had that same scene.

So, it sounds like the Typhoon is the AR we've all been waiting for (HAHA). At least, it seems to be according to this:

The Typhoon can be likened to an improved version of the M-76 Revenant in terms of firepower and bullet spread, but with an even faster fire rate and less kickback. While in cover, it can be used as a moderately effective mid-to-long range weapon.

True, but there's no light machine gun class, so... :)

But yea, hopefully it's what I've been waiting for (despite being the SINGLE heaviest AR in the game).

I still haven't seen the extended cut. Downloaded it a week ago. I was planning on checking it out when I do my renegade playthrough. Had issues with importing my Shepard like many.
Even though the Revenant is in the AR class, it's really a light machine gun. Sounds like the Typhoon is more of the same and better.
so long as the typhoon is a ultra rare...otherwise i think they need to revamp a lot of the current wpns.

...and why_t_f can't i continue to upgrade my collector rifle?

Ahh yeah sorry I got caught up with Wipeout on Hulu Plus and Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD. I'll def be on tonight rolling with my Vorcha. Eeeaaaahhhhh!!!

speaking of Eeeeeaaaaahhhh!!! you can hear that thing from across the map...i wish when you statis field, it muffles all sound outside the bubble for things like that.

...and wtf did they give phantoms? they have mini mobile stasis bubbles?

Yeah, I'm not wild about the finish on the hair either. Crossing my fingers for them to go back to it. I'm mostly stoked that she's finally getting some representation. As I haven't played a Broshep for a while, it's like they're finally putting out my character. I do love that they went full redhead and gave her freckles though!

Definitely agree that Tali translated well. I'll prolly pick up her, Garrus, and Femshep. Crossing my fingers for a PAK Wrex or Grunt somewhere down the line.

fan of tali or not, the deets on the figure look great.

my toy collection is large enough, i think getting a digital frame and just uploading pictures of all the stuff you wish you had the room or $ for is the only option now.

@IanK - yo son...you should call'dup CK the Boss nahmsayin?! dat guy woulda carried the crap randoms.

Sure enough, one of em was a "Wait until everyone's dead and then Medigel" hero who spent about 15 minutes solo'ing wave 7 as an Adept.

Also, uhhhh, maybe I should actually try my Piranha.

perhaps that's the new trend...but i dont see what a high score does if your already level 20. i dont think you get a cR bonus for it...15 minutes could save you 15% or more, or complete 11 waves of bronze. I'm all for farming cR's for PSPs but you gotta do it in style.

at this point, so long as I get more Shadows just to unlock more appearance features I'll be fine. relying on her melee abilities is all i need to play this helmeted kasumi goto w/the generic voice. just want to know if the melee upgrade for pistols and shotties actually augments her melee abilities.

how's the harrier?

Holy hell. He took that Atlas down really fast.

Guess I should give my Piranha more lovin' too

Also, I really like giving Phantoms a taste of their own medicine.

"How'd YOU like that sword in the back?"

One more thing, Kaz:

Regarding the GFaqs poster, it seems he took the a) Rank 4: Duration and b) the Rank 6: Bonus Power for TC, to better enhance what he mentions.

He mentions duration directly, while one of his combos (Boosted Electric Slash Spam) goes like this: cloak, ES, manually de-cloak, ES, repeat. I'm quite certain the ONLY way you could do that is with the Rank 6: Bonus Power evolution.

Finally beat Platinum legit (no missile glitchers ruining the game) and of course it's a Geth Farming match. Eh... whatever. A win is a win. Hilariously enough the easiest objective in game (1, 2, 3, 4) is an absolute nightmare on Platinum. Hacks are 50/50, Eliminations are a godsend and escorting is always a pain in the ass.

Ha! While using the Reegar and Flamer at the same time, if your Flamer is long enough, he'll reload the Reegar (with one hand) and blast it again. Didn't know he'd do that. Hilarious.

Congrats, dude. My new personal best was Wave 5 (SO CLOSE TO SIX. Randoms, just use a fuckING MISSILE) against Reapers on...Vancouver, I think. One of the new Earth maps.

Might be on tonight to give it another go. How rough was WGP? I've never been more sick of a map than I am White, but if it's pulling in that much money, I think I can stomach a bit.

@Ian - nice find on the Shadow tips. We'll get a platinum tonight, though I wonder if the time is worth the investment. Challenge yes...but I still need more equipment and gun upgrades to feel more platinum ready.

You got me all excited as I did do that extract on Gold but then found nothing in my store. Even went back to the main menu and all, no go.

Man that flamer is badass, bye bye Brutes. ;)

We'll get there. I'm down for whatever.

Oh, and I actually love the Piranha now, by the way. A friend and I were chewing through Banshees with that rapid fire and Shredder mods. Takes the guaranteed mob-stagger that the Krysae has away from my Kroguard, but I feel like it has a bit more purpose to it overall.

i'd imagine so. the first time I used armor piercing ammo, stabiliy mod, and the turian solider...anything w/armor was getting cut in half w/the revenant.

Max payout is 130,000+ for 25 - 35 minutes of your time with decent randoms. It's challenging enough you'll need a team of dedicated farmers who when to stay put and know how to lag Banshees on counters. It's one thing to hear about it, but a whole other to see it in action. If they hadn't done it we probably wouldn't have cleared as most of the time/cobras spent dealing with them would have likely contributed to another wipe. They are by far the most threatening unit besides Phantoms, Hunters and Geth Turrets. Centurions, Atlas Mechs, Brutes and Pyros are a godsend. Enjoy the peace of mind those waves bring. Again, Banshees, Phantoms, Primes, Geth Turrets and Hunters are the most threatening units on the field. Prioritize them above all else.

The backyard behind the usual spawn point is more active than in Gold so you have to be aware of it if no one is camping outside. Equipment is still optional, but without it even my Harrier II wasn't pumping out enough damage. Third attempt (which is the one we cleared) I Lvl. 3 and 4'd that bitch out. I would advise only equipping gear in public games until your team proves themselves because there are too many Bronze/Silver players and Missile Glitchers clogging up the lobbies right now. Make sure you LEAVE lobbies with the latter afterward as playing with them for more than one game is a bannable offense.

Objectives are mostly hell regardless of who you bring with randoms. I don't recall us having a Infiltrator, but even if we did I doubt much would have changed as playing the role of a decoy is much more tasking due to the increased dps, shield regen and variety of the enemy. More often than not you'll need to buddy up with them for a change. If you're sitting on a fat stack of shield recharge consumables then this is the difficulty to burn them. Stick your head out for too long and you WILL be getting downed. Period. Point blank... don't venture into Plat if you're stingy with consumables and don't plan to revive decent players. You aren't welcome.

Also, hoard Cobra and Medi-gel if possible until Wave 6 at least, but don't be surprised if you reach Wave 10 and have to make a sacrifice chain reviving yourself around a hoard of Banshee, Prime or Phantoms to ensure the objective runner gets the job done. I had to do it then distract a Prime with Arc Grenade spam that was dry humping the objective runner. I stunned him long enough to get the cash. I was an N7 Demo with zero fitness and everything else maxed out for tech and fire explosions. Topped out with over 150k. She makes farming stupid easy.

There's a farming method to bang out Plats in 20 minutes with zero equipment, but since it requires actual teamwork and the DLC just came out it's going to be a long while before the community wises up. Overall on a good team Platinum is just Gold+. On a horrible team Platinum is off limits or gear only sessions.

I'd say it's worth the trouble once the community wises up. Guaranteed PSP and JEP. I can't argue with that but if I need quick cash I'll just take a Demo into a Gold Farming match. May take a minute or two longer if you're being careful, but much less effort required overall.

Thanks for the breakdown, man. Lookin' forward to trying some plats with you guys. We should try that Glacier strat.

Double edit: Watched a few vids. Dagger's control room actually looks pretty good for some Platinum action. Especially with some Demolishers in there.

Got a Talon. Wasn't thrilled, but I equipped that bad boy with a scope and gave it to my Turian Sentinel and did some real damage. Felt like I was sniping with a shotgun.

so my Xbox rep went from 100% to 47% in the last 3 nights (66% unsporting, 16% quit early and aggressive, which if you know me, i never quit a game, am never unfair or talk shit, and got it purely because i outscored them...), i got voted out of two rooms in a row playing silver with the Krogan Vanguard with my Pirahna X. Just because I was walking out with 115k plus scores and had more than the other 3 combined at most points, they started talking shit... i was like... sooo you wanna play a coop game mode but bitch because you arent ahead on the scoreboard? that and they were level 20 so what the hell difference does it make I am here for the money.

I like a lot of the new N7 classes, have yet to unlock the Pally, Demo, and Engy one but eh. I am getting pissed though as my premium packs seem all filled with customization rares and a few gear bonuses. i wanna unlock the damn ultra rares and classes i still need.... grrrrrr.

Anyhoot, love the extended endings, still love MP, really love Krogan, and you guys aren't bad either :)

and the Harrier with mag V and piercing is insane. 36 rounds of full auto Mattock. this with the +AR and + max grenade gear makes Krogan Sentinel a Monster. I havent tried platinum yet, looking to give it a go. My shadow setup is fun, and from what i can tel the melee bonus on Shotty/Pistol does stack. i use a Pirahna X piercing/blade and on bronze with damage spec and melee bonus can one shot a bronze phantom. the damage rating on the power with max melee is 1520 I believe, add in tac cloak, and 25% blade... its like a frag grenade 1.5 every 2.8 seconds.
i use a Pirahna X piercing/blade and on bronze with damage spec and melee bonus can one shot a bronze phantom.
Just be careful that the Phantom doesn't see you coming. If they do, they'll do the "hand of denial" and your shadow strike wouldn't hurt a fly.

lol true that is why tac cloak is a must for those purple barred bitches.
good games with Chubby, Sumo, TVP, Kaizer and the crew.. Fury and Krogan Vanguard = Awesome shitty premium packs = sadpanda
For sure, man. I usually run Kroguard myself, so I tried targeting some Dark Channels for you. Pretty awesome combo.

Nice games, fellas. Still getting the hang of these new characters; they're all pretty cool though. Shadow, Fury, and Demolisher are a blast. Slayer's a lot of fun, but he goes down real fast. Actually, I think Paladin is about the only one I'm not loving so far. Bet he'll be solid on a good team; I've only tried with randoms so far.

Got a bunch of Platinums under my belt today. Giant, Vancouver, Glacier, and of course White. It's harder to find a match without missile glitchers than it is to actually beat it.

Yeah, good times as usual with the CAG crew. After everyone else logged off, I played a couple games with randoms and unlocked the N7 Fury (adept). This wasn't one I was after, per se, but holy crap, what a great new class! Every power is tremendously useful and I can't wait to level up the dark channel. Nothing like detonating my own BE's.
