I'm taking a wild guess, but it sure seems like microsoft will be showing off alot of this game during X06. Be warned though that I am guessing this off the fact that they released gamer pics of Mass Effect with "X06" in the title...

Other than that, discuss to your hearts content at how amazingly well though out this game has come to be.

I got into the KOTOR crowd late, playing the second one only once I nabbed a 360. Considering that I think that one was not made by Bioware and that the first is almost always seen as superior to the second, I am assuming that Mass Effect is gonna be awesome especially if dark energy is going to lead to some big changes to your player character.
 
Wow..all I can say is if they pull this off its going to be amazing. Making the PS3 look like less and less of a priority buy with quality stuff like this coming out.
 
I am really interested in this game. The conversation dynamics look awesome.

Right before the X360 was released, I was so sure that the PS3 would totally own this generation, as the PS2 owned the last. Now, as we get further into this generation, I am beginning to think that the 360 might emerge victorious. That 1-year jump MS got on Sony really gave them an advantage.

Of course, I am not factoring in the Wii, as it isn't really in the same arena as the 360 and PS3. Gaming machine, yes, and awesome it shall be. But it aims for a slightly different group than the other two do. Bottom line: I am now a devoted believer in the credo of Wii60.
 
Im definatly interested in this game, gameplay looks nice. I wonder how much exploration you can do on each individual planet in each galaxy.

The reason I bought my orginal Xbox was because my computer couldn't handle KotOR.

The place that I edited to include has the pictures, and they are fucken awesome!
 
Box art is a bit of a let down considering how great some of the games art looks. It seems a tad cheesy and quickly thrown together, but perhaps there will be a bit of metallic layering or something so the title doesn't seem so drab.

Very happy to see that the Art is out though, as it means the title is closer to reality.

There are what seems like daily threads on the official mass effect forum of people talking about the austrailian xbox site's date. Surprised it took Joystiq so long to determine it was "newsworthy."

Good news on the release date. For some reason, I was fearful that Mass Effect would be one of those eternally delayed titles.

Speaking with BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka, MTV weaseled a really sweet quote out of the good doctor regarding Mass Effect. Among comments about the evolution of stories in videogames and how important believable eyeballs was something remarkable. Dr. Muzyka describes his game's story as "Jack Bauer in space," and then goes on to elaborate.

"You have complex moral choices to make," said Muzyka. "You're out to save the galaxy. You're going to have to do things that don't seem like they're good to do that." This is music to a 24 fan's ears. Jack Bauer is concentrated badassery on land, sea and the sky, so we're can only associate the idea of Bauer in space with awesome things -- like getting two sodas out of the vending machine for the price of one. As long as this plays better than 24: The Game, we're in business.

I really hope the moral/dialogue choices are usually less obvious than what was offered in the Star Wars games. The morality of Lucas' universe is very clear-cut by design, so such choices work there, but I don't want a game that appears to be a very intelligent one to succumb to "I want to be a saint" or "I want to be a dick"*. To me, the player should be 'strongly encouraged' to think about the 'best' reaction on a situational basis.

*--Just like on message boards!

I think it will come out in 2007. Just expect a late fall date. I would say November 13th is my guess.

It could always come out in August - October.. but I highly doubt it. I've been following this game closely since I heard about it.. and there's been a serious lack of info / videos lately. Bioware is keeping everything under wraps... the game could go gold any day, they don't give status updates.
 
I seriosly doubt it could go gold any day. With any title lacking new pictures, videos, usually means its not ready to show to the public and thats when it ends up being delayed...Would be cool though, I doubt any company has had a surprise early release like that for any major title.

I'd say we'll see it after X-Mas...Winter/Spring 2008

Spring 2008? They are suppose to make a ME Trilogy... I don't see it happening if they release a new one every 3 years.

At this point all we're doing is speculating.. lets just pray for a fall release. Don't let us down Bioware.

Edit: Also, if you look at the official forums you'll see that the game is on the last stage (QA). The last stage could take a year yes.. but they've been this way for awhile. I think we'll start to see more info come August / September. I still say November.

That was only the krogan (sp?), I don't think they're doing it every week. Though I could be wrong.

Either way, any news is good news at this point.
 
Can't really say much about it, but another clue that it may be coming soon is some screentesting they are doing for a commercial. Let's just say it's new footage and it looks amazing.
 
It's been listed as "M" for months now. There's been hints on the forums to a release date "date". E3 is probably when we'll know the date, if not shortly after.
