Does you miss out on a lot of side-quests when playing renegade?

do both sexes have similar dialogue trees? apologies if this has already been discussed.
Expect people in bars to treat you "different" if you play as a female. Other than that, nothing else really changes.

yea that GT looks kick ass. anyone get/reading/read the pre-quel book to the game? i just got it today, but haven't had the chance to start reading it yet.

PS. i'm not so far into the game as far as main quests go but are there any cities on planets like the citadel? i've been doing side missions mainly.
Hey, do the "Use X power X amount of times" achievment counts carry over onto a new playthrough?
asked before and I think the answer is yes...

right now I'm 75% through with my insane/renegade run. Renegade is pretty scare at times since you kill alot of people who are obviously innocent. I'm still wondering how to get the "minished majority with..." acheivments... I did a ton of quests and did every planet before finishing my last game and didn't even get it.

You need to play 75% of the game, including side quests WITH them. So the later you pick up the party member, the more difficult it will be to gain that achievement. You'll basically not want to start side quests until you get your two desired party members for the achievement.

I did do that, but I probably was at 74% by the way things looked. I'm guessing Kaiden and Ash are the easiest to do since you get them so early.

I said screw it at one point, and just went for the main quest because I lost my patience.

Then it unlocked on the last planet.. luckily, I used Kaiden and Ash.
How did you use Kaiden and Ash when
you have to let one of them die on Virmire?
Not entirely sure... all I know, is that it unlocked.

Got 4/6 of the Ally achievements now. Though getting the last two on my next playthrough might be a bit hard. Plan to do it on Insanity with my current Adept, with Kaiden and Liara (the two ones I have left for achievements).

Three biotics? Either this is going to totally rock or be insanely hard :(

Edit: Virmire spoiler:
I shot Wrex :( For some reason I felt more sad about it than leaving Kaiden on the planet to get nuked.

well, I'm level 59 and at the end of the insane mode (only an hour or so left to go). Looks like it'll take me a fourth play through to pick up level 60, but at least then I will be playing on casual.

still level 59, but got the insane acheivement... feels nice to do so. Now next up is going up that one level, and then from there I'll be playing as a new biotic...
Is it worth it for me to buy this game if I only plan to do story related missions and none of the extra stuff?
I'd just rent it then, its really short.

I've had 2 playthroughs so far. Both times I took care to do every sidequest and was planning for the party member achievements from the start but I only got them on my 2nd playthrough (Ashley and Garrus). So if i want them all it looks like I have 2 more playthroughs to go. At least I really like the game. It is a rare game that I want to beat more than once.

Is it that much of a pain to get 60? My 2nd character got to 54 on her first game. That is some slow leveling if I can't get it in the 2nd playthrough for her! Since I'm starting her over on insane I'd hate to have to kill everything outside the mako again for all the extra xp. That might be a tad annoying on insane.

the game is worth it overall. personally, out of all the holiday releases, this game tops all in terms of plot/story. It really reminds me all the time how disapointing Halo 3 was in terms of story while this is polar opposite.

I was thinking about going through as my Operative/Infiltrator on Insane, but as of the last 2 story planets on Hardcore, my tech mines weren't doing nearly enough damage and not enough CC to warrant their usage *which sucks because the Operative talents increase those skills*.

I'm going through now as a female adept with AR, or Vanguard with electronics (for the shield boostage). Liara tore shit up during my Hardcore run, and made even colossi a non-issue.

Warp seemed to be the make or break skill for long fights, as the damage boost really helped. I see all these people on the official forums saying that the only way to play insane is with a Soldier who spec's Adrenaline/Immunity-- but I don't think I need to live that long if I can kill stuff 90% faster with no cool-down.

So I am about 20 hours in, and still don't have one of the characters.. The third from the left, I think it's a salarian. I am purposely avoiding most of the main missions, which may be a reason. Otherwise, if he is found on Citadel, can someone explain to me where?

As its only using the character 75% of the game for the achievements, it could be possible to get that % usage prior to the ... event. At least if you do straight story missions after that point -- no extras.

it's the asarian... blue chick. you get her
when you search the planets... she's on the dig site

Thank you.

I wasted a good 3 hours running around the citadel looking since nearly all of them were found there.

wow, I can't believe that you still don't have her at 20 hours (considering I beat the game in 18)
for those wondering, the gamerpic I have now is what you get for beating the game on insane.
that N7 pic? can't you get that on the limited edition dvd as well? I have it from there...

the book is about anderson and saren in the old days. it's competent, not great.

They're different pictures.

So I started playing it late, due to trying to graduate.

I have to say the slowdown absolutely sucks. This game should have gotten a 5 out of 10 at best.

In some parts it is unplayable. The Thresher Maw you fight is impossible.

Is there some way to fix this?

I never had it as bad as you claim (and thus it's probably your 360). Sure I got the occasional slowdown, but they only lasted for a brief second. Though I did have on time when it slowed down considerably in an indoor area where a lot of crap (20++ enemies, explosions, skills flying, etc) was going on at once.

Yeah I've only gotten a little bit of slowdown, it's a little annoying but not worth marking the game down significantly because of it.

side missions dude, side missions.

Is it true once you beat the game you cnat go back and do the side missions with the same character

You can import you old character into a new game, but the only way you can go back and finish all side quests in your current game, is if you make a save before
you leave the citadel without authorization. That way you can finish all citadel sidequests and then when you leave, you can fly to other planets and finish the rest.

there's a slight difference... mainly the LE version is just the logo on grey where this is probably a shot from the side of the normandy with metal and all.

I'm doing about 6-8 side missions per every main mission.

Anyone getting mysterious scratches on their game disc??? I just finished the game today, there are three scratches that weren't on the disc when I put it in...
Anyone getting mysterious scratches on their game desk??? I just finished the game today, there are three scratches that weren't on the desk when I put it in...
My desk is fine.

Playing through a second time now, on Hardcore. Have twenty-something assignments done already and I've only done one of the three post-first-citadel missions, so hopefully I'll get completionist and some ally achievements this time.

I just noticed that this game had blood decals for the first time? o_O

Smacked a Krogan in the face with my AR and there was a bunch of orange goo on the wall and floor.
When is the lesbo sex?

To WhoKnows: Yes, very much so. The story is so great and the story telling is amazing
Ya know the lesbian thing isn't all that great.

The Asari Consort mission. Once you talk to the general, and convince him to ask the consort for forgiveness, you go back and talk to the Consort. Respond however you want (I think) to the first bits, then once she tells you about who you are and who you will be.. respond 'Is that it' (or something like that) -- you then get it on with the consort.

IMO, the romance side quest is much better. Both reveal next to nothing, though, and I really don't get why people are so into seeing the lesbo thing. There aren't even teh boobiez. Why is that I get the feeling people are expecting the scene to be 'teh pronz'?

Yeah, the first lesbian sex scene was mediocre. But there's another one if you are a female shepard (which I was), and if you romanced Liara (which I did). It's far superior to the one you mentioned in the spoiler. It even had some nudity in it XD
