I was just there at lunch. On a large fries and their new chicken sandwiches, you get a Best Buy buck (worth $1 at Best Buy) guaranteed with a 1 in 3 chance of getting a $3 piece. You can use these in-store and online. You can only use up to $3 worth on a CD or DVD, but you should be able to use as many as you want on games. I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal and ended up with 2 $3 bucks and a free sandwich. Good luck!

EDIT:

HEre are the official redemption rules. Other than the $300 limit per visit, I see nothing in here that would prevent you from stacking them on games.

I've gotten tons of free food from this deal and so far something like $35-40 in BB bucks. It's gonna go towards my mp3 player, or maybe a t.v., or maybe just to a game. Not bad.

Anyone know when McDonalds will stop putting the game peices on the food? I know you can use them until the 3rd of December but when is the contest "officially" over.

I used 67 bbb in the online store to order video games, then went to a best buy in Oklahoma City and used all 67 of the already used online bbb's and bought a
HDTV antenna. No questions asked and no problem. Oh and I already recieved my games in the mail. So just too confirm, the double dipping of coupons has worked for myself.

No, they're talking about no longer doing it b/c they're tired of pains in the ass that send in 150 requests for game pieces.

wrong, the SASE has been running strong for the past 3 years , Best buy had even admitted they have Limited the BB bucks and have changed the rules cause too many people was stealing pieces from mcdonalds.. one manager at mcdonalds here even admitted they had over 500 boxes just disappear

yes more people did SASE this year compair to last years (since you had a 33% chance of getting 3 bucks instead of 1) . Funny thing there was even someone in this topic admitted to ripping off mcdonalds and people thought it was cool

..
i sent in 100 last year and everyone else sent in tons of them... The problem came out when people starting learning they could double dip and get away with it

Hell, it's still a rip-off. The requests are just an additional pain to the rip-offs.

I didn't say it wasn't "running strong." That's just the problem, it's too strong. They don't like getting millions of requests, it's a pain in the ass. Look at any other promotion that offers a "no purchase necessary" option. Most promotions don't get this many requests b/c it isn't as advantageous. They'd much rather you play the game through the retailer than send in SASE's.

Someone on another forum reported getting four envelopes back today with BB Bucks and a letter with the phrase "While supplies last" highlighted.

I'm glad I only sent in 20, but I wish I'd sent them in sooner. At least I only wasted $15 in postage.

I hope they don't run out. I just mailed 6 today. I got one back today that was sent over 2 weeks ago. I sent in about 20 total spread out throughout the promotion.

If they're still selling the stickers in your areas. You should get A Large Premium Chicken Sandwich. That way you have a meal, along with SIX stickers and 2 BestBuy Bucks.

Some Breaking news Can not confirm at this time ... came off FATWALLET and a YAHOO MESSAGE BOARD

it seems they have ran out of game pieces On replys that are Postmarked OCT26 (that is when they send them back not when you send your to them)

So anyone who sent anything in from what im hearing OCT 17 or later May be screwed (all your getting back is a little rules book with the line

WHILE SUPPLIES LAST highlighted

now i got back 16 today that was postmarked OCT 26 and all of them had game pieces in it, they might been the last few to ship out with game pieces... I still
have around 60 of them out and hope to get some tomorrow

not really that bumbed about it cause i knew the risk sending them in

i figure i blew around 150 bucks and won around 200 best buy bucks
and a ton of food probally around another 20 to 50 bucks

sorry didnt see that post.... now i wouldnt be bumbed about just getting a BB buck with no game pieces. Most people just sent in for that BB bucks... it might mean they are in the extra 5 million .... what is werid that it means they processes almost 4 million request per day that dont see right

I will really be angry if I get back most of the envelopes I sent with no pieces or Best Buy bucks. If they thought they would run out, they should have updated the rules after they realized this so no one would waste their time and stamps sending requests in for no reason.

thanks for the info. Looks like the McD's ran out near me, didn't notice until I got home and saw no monopoly pieces on fries. I sent my first 4 out on the 17th so hopefully I just made it in time. I wish I had gotten in on this sooner.

So far with this deal I have won loads and loads of food and $35ish dollars for BB. Not really too sure what to use it on/for though. i also have one of just about every color of game pieces.

So here's my story.

Over the course of the last month or so, I've bought quite a few large fries. It's the most economical way to get the bucks. You pay $1.50-$1.75 (prices vary in my area) and get large fries and a dollar back from BestBuy Bucks automatically. So I collected $19 this way. I had $15 of $3 bucks and $4 of $1 bucks.

I find out from this thread that I can spend them online and in the store. I browse online and pick up a GH Final Fantasy X. Yes, I'm probably the only person to ever own a PS2 and not play/own Final Fantasy X.

Anyway, yesterday I go to pick this up and the buy Shadow of the Colossus with the $19 of bucks. The cashier check tells me the bucks do not stack on games. My mind went numb. I uttered an appalled, confused, and totally shocked "Really?" This chick was ruining my plan! I wanted a $20 Shadow of the Colossus, not some no-nothing employee to turn me down!

So, out of frustration and general nervousness, I went ahead and bought my $3-off Shadow of the Colossus. I then tried to pick up FFX, but she told me to go to customer service. The pick up went just fine and I paid $1.06 for it after tax. I asked the lady working there if the coupons stacked on games, and she told me that any form of "media" is only allowed one buck. Apparently this includes CDs, DVDs, AND PC software and any video games.

I knew they were wrong. Totally and absolutely wrong.

Later in the day, I ordered a pizza. They told me it would be 15-20 minutes. What a perfect timeslot to call up BestBuy's support number.

I call, go through the hastles of phone menu navigation, and end up speaking with a kind employee whom I forget the name of. I ask her if coupons are stackable and point out the fine print says they aren't on CDs and DVDs, but they make no mention of video games. She says that is correct. I tell her I bought a game and was told they were not stackable. She asks the store location. I give it. She calls the manager. I wait.

She tells me that the manager understands and I can go an get a refund for the amount of bucks I have left. Sweet.

When I return to BestBuy, many of the same employees are still there, including the second lady. I go up to customer service, tell the nearest person my predicament, and a kind (and very attractive) young woman takes my coupons and refunds my money. She then says they are only trying to prevent McDonald's employee fraud with all of these bucks. I tell her that is understandable, and then explain that I am not trying to fraud them and that I read the fine print and knew what I was doing was completely legit. She agreed. I walk out with a $16 cheaper Shadow of the Colossus.

In short, if you have problems with your bucks, call 1-888-BESTBUY. Hopefully you get someone knowledgeable of the terms and they will sort it out for you.

Got 1 envelope back today postmarked the 27th, had a copy of the rules and 1 set of regular game pieces. I guess that means the other 10 I will be getting back won't have the Best Buy bucks. I sent that request in on either the 12th or 13th, only the 2nd week into the promotion. If they ran out of the chance pieces, they should have at least sent 2 sets of regular pieces to make up for it.

OUCH i got 60 left out there (had funny feeling not to send them in) I just got 4 back today Postmarked OCT 26 it had BB bucks in them

Some people on fatwallet has said they got some with BB bucks and some with the rules..

funny thing is one dude on fatwallet said WE ARE OUT OF GAME PIECES around the 14 of Oct and everyone on Fatwallet jummped on him calling him a lier... Might been true how it looks now .. I cant belive they burned though 10 million pieces in 12 days though

I was thinking of mailing in for enough BB Bucks to pay for a Flat screen moniter (about 180 envelopes I figure). Its not worth all that work if they're out of tickets though. Does anyone know if its still worth doing this? I've got about 6 hours left to mark all those envelopes.

I had collected $33 in BB bucks and I wanted to get the new Lego Star Wars on GCN. I went to BB, grabbed a copy and headed to the register and I then got the same story that most of you got. The cashier told me that I could only use $3 on a game. I told her that she was wrong and that the rules made no mention of video games and only mentioned CD's and DVD's. She then proceded to show me a small store printout that all the cashiers had taped to thier registers. It said that only $3 in BB bucks could be used on CD's, DVD's, AND games. I told her I didn't really care what the the store had typed up, because the official rules said nothing about a restriction on video games. It was actually funny. I just continued counting out BB bucks like I totally intended to use all of them on the game. She calls the CS manager who tells me that the official rules mentioned games as part of the restriction also. She says that she has a copy of the actual rules from McD's, the one with the Monopoly board on it. She gets it and comes back to show me. She decides to be an ass and says, "Here, let's read it together." As all you guys know, the rules do not mention games, so of course it didn't take her long to realize she had made an idiotic ass of herself. Anyway, after that, I told her that they no choice but to follow what was printed in the rules. She finally agreed after I complained enough. She told me that she couldn't take the price below $0.99 and I said that was fine. I thought originally that the BB bucks would be used towards the total price INCLUDING tax, but they come off BEFORE tax. So I gave her $29 in BB bucks and she rang up the game for $0.99. So long story short...I got Lego Star Wars on GCN for $1.06:)

Jdchess, that's a great story. I wish I could have been there when you told them you don't care what the rules they printed up says, you know what the OFFICIAL rules are. :) I bet the lady quietly went around throwing away all the official rule sheets after you left.

So, I just did some checking and it looks like my previous post wouldn't be a good idea after all. Since I would be mailing it in the last day I might not get all my game pieces. If I had know these BB Bucks would work on computer hardware I would have done this earlier.

I did find something interesting while I was looking around. Sorry if this is a repost but I don't have time right now to read the whole thread. Apparently some people have been able to use the same BB Bucks online and in stores. I think each piece has a generic UPC code and a individual code. The cashier is suppose to scan the individual code as well as the UPC but they often don't. If anyone here can confirm this it'll be a great way to double the value of how ever much you have. Just keep your purchases under $75 so they don't look to closely at it.
I tell her that is understandable, and then explain that I am not trying to fraud them and that I read the fine print and knew what I was doing was completely legit.
Well actually you are trying to "fraud" them by spending the same bucks on-line and in store. Officially that's against the rules. I'm not criticizing, I intend to do the same thing, but you aren't as completely "clean" as you seem to think.

i have the mcdonalds monopoly board. it says "Limit 3 of any 1CD, DVD, or video game title per customer per day." so that mean i can only use 3 bestbuy bucks pieces?

No, I think that means you can only buy 3 copies of the same cd/dvd/game with those bestbuy bucks (For instance, you cant get 4 copies of Grand Theft Auto on one day)

Well, my horror story just happened.

With $32.00 in BB bucks in hand, I drove down to my local BB B&M in Colma, California.

I arrived at 7:30pm, a good 30 minutes before the store's listed closing time of 8:00pm, according to their website.

Upon driving into the lot, I noticed that the store's outside lights were not on and that half of the store's shutters were closed. I walk in and I immediately get greeted by the loss prevention clerk who says to me "Sorry sir. We're closed.". I reply with "I thought you closed at 8:00pm. That's what it said on the Best Buy website." Her response to mine was "Oh, that's not until next week.". I then simply continued to walk towards the game aisles and said "Oh, I won't be long.". Naturally, she could care less, so she just let me go.

I found what I wanted. A copy of "Capcom Collection Vol. 1" for the PS2. I bring my game to the checkout area and proceed with the checkout process. Before the clerk rings the game up, I bring out my BB bucks and tell her that I'll use them to pay. Immediately, she says "I'm sorry, but you can only use $3.00 in Best Buy bucks on this game.". I go through the whole short discussion about how the rules don't state that and then she has the nerve to pull out the McDonald's game board to point it out to me.

I read it aloud to her, as well as her workmate, who just sauntered over and she still stands firm on the '$3.00 only per video game' Bulls**t, even after I specifically point out that not ANYWHERE in the rules does it say that. She shuts up for a few seconds, then produces a really blown up copy of the official rules (posted in the McDonald's restaurants) and proceeds to underline a couple of sentences from the blown up copy. The girl also says that "We're going to be changing the rules soon....". Strangely though, the copy is cropped and doesn't look acceptable in terms of the FULL rules. Obviously, this store is just trying to feed me even more bulls**t by trying to 'back up' their 'new' policy regarding the BB bucks.

You can be sure I'm going to call up the 888 Best Buy number tomorrow morning. Plus, I'll also demand an apology as well as a gift card for my trouble.

I seriously hate it when stores don't hold up their end of the bargain.

Went in today to pick up BIA: EIB for $17.99 after $12 in BBB's.

Evening before, I had ordered Heroes of the Pacific using the codes off the same BBB's. Went without issue, except for the email today (after I went in to get BIA: EIB) saying it wasn't in stock at the store. Turned that into a free ground shipping order, though that's another matter entirely.

Went to the register and tried to check out with the $12 in BBB's, and was told I couldn't use any more than 3. I called BS on that one, and pulled out my terms of the rules from the PlayAtMcD.com site I had on my PDA, where it says, as we all know, that it's only CD's & DVD's that are restricted. She pulled out a print copy of it, where someone had added in the "videogames" word to the existing text. I kept calling BS on it, and she called over her manager. He said the same thing, so I told the cashier to void the transaction, and I told them both I'd go to CS and call the 888-BESTBUY number to get this cleared up.

I called them on my cellphone, and it took a little while to get to someone, and I finally did, after about 10 minutes. I explained the situation to the guy on the phone, and asked him to check the rules on the PlayAtMcD.com website for the text of the rules. I also told him that the rules posted there are the only copy of the rules that the public sees without going into the store, and therefore, they're the posted rules for the contest. As I told the guy, I copied the rules from the website on the 4th, and unless they were changed since then, these were the rules of the contest as I knew them to be. He put me on hold for a while, and then came back, telling me that the rules I had in-hand and knew from the website were correct. The store was wrong and I was right.

I asked him to call the store and talk with the manager who I dealt with, and he said he'd do so and clear it up. On hold for a few more minutes, then he came back on the phone and told me that he cleared things up and it should be OK. I spoke with a CS rep who was there (unfortunately, not the one I had spoke with when I went over there, and in past experience, a giant pain in the ass for dealing with issues like this), explained things to her, and she gave me the same routine as before, can only use $3 on games. Gave her the same explanation, and asked for her to speak to the manager who the BB corp guy spoke with.

She called for this manager to show up, and a different one showed up. I told her about the clarification, and if she had any issues with it, she could speak with him. She told me that the store was "within their rights to limit the redemption of items" as well that she wasn't "preventing me from getting what I want". Basically, she was pretty much telling me that I would get what I wanted, though fuck you for asking to have it happen.

I ended up with BIA: EIB for $17.99 (and should have HOTP shipped tomorrow or Tuesday), and on the way home, I call BB corp again and told them in great length how nice the manager I dealt with after their phone call to the store and the great fuck you attitude she tossed me. They were ever so pleased about it, and told me they'd look into it.

The moral to this long story:
The stores can't limit the use of the BBB's on video games titles. Period. No questions, no ifs, ands or buts. Print out the rules from the PlayAtMcD.com website and take with you when you go to the store. If they give you crap about it, wave the rules from the website in their face and tell them this is a copy of the official rules, as posted by McD's and BB. If they don't cave at that point, go to Customer Service, and call 888-BESTBUY, either from your cellphone (if you have one) or from the CS phone. Prompts are 3, 4, 2 to get to someone you need to talk to. Explain your beef, get them to check the rules (which you're in the right), and when they've agreed, have the person you spoke with put you on hold and call the store and clear it up with the manager on duty. Should take care of the issue without any question.

My story was a great one.

I was ready for a fight as I can't really stand Best Buy. Had a baggie with the official game board and my BBBs in it.

Grabbed me a copy of Ultimate Spiderman DS and went to the cashier. She seemed kinda clueless at first so I was groaning, then whipping out the rules and was explaining that it's 3 per day (games) not $3 total she just said ok before I finished bringing out the guns.

Cashed them in and got my game. Was very satisfied. I hope it goes that smoothly the next time I visit as I have enough for one more trip I hope.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles you guys have been having. It's BS the stuff they try to pull on people but the worst part is they get away with it most of the time. It's people like yourselves who stand up that make it a great read in the end. ;)

Pssh, let me rephrase then.

I'm using the BB bucks within the bounds of their usage. Whether officially accepted or not, I'm fully capable of doing what I did without any sort of restriction.

I bought a crispy chicken sandwhich yesterday and the monopoly game pieces had been pulled off, it sucks cause I didn't notice until I got home. The only reason I've been eating these things is because of the game pieces. They left best buy buck though.

I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but that happened to me last year (but my BBB were gone, too), and I called up to the store to complain and they said if I came back up, they'd replace them...boy did they replace them! They replaced the missing ones, as well as gave me a bunch of extra empty containers with game pieces on them!

Obviously, one could try to milk that, but I'm not going to scam. They must know they have employees that rip the pieces off, so they didn't fight me on it.

That happened to me last year, and when I got home I called the store up and they offered to replace them. They replaced the missing pieces, and gave me a of bunch extra expty boxes with pieces on them. (Obviously, you could milk this by ripping pieces off yourself, but I'm not going to scam them like that.)

It seems they know that employees rip the pieces off and they were probably happier that I didn't complain to the manager the next day.

Sorry for the multiple posts...my network was burping on me...(Using the cordless phone while using wireless again...I hate this phone!)

Good point. I stopped by McDs on the way home from the club saturday night (yay for extra hour of drinking) and we got some large fries without pieces (not that the pieces were removed - they were non-game containers). I suspect, if anything, places MIGHT still have some of the Chicken Selects left with pieces on them...because I know they don't sell as many of those as they do fries and soda.

But, on the other hand, today is the last day for the Mt. Dew/XBOX contest, and on another site, people were talking that they haven't seen game caps in the past two weeks, and they are still everywhere here; I just bought some Dew with caps this morning. I guess it is true: location, location, location...

I dont know about the 1 in 3 chance for getting a $3 BBB. Over the course of the promotion, my family and I got eight (8) $1 BBB and eleven (11) $3 BBB. Either we are extremely lucky or the distribution of game pieces heavily favored the north/central NJ McDs that I visited.
