Mega Man 10 - Bass, Special Stage 1 on April 5th
You guys seem to be forgetting how fast Mega Man games usually come out. The first 6 were usually barely a year apart from each other, and never more than 2.
Yep.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mega_Man_games

MM1-8 were all released within 1987-1996, while MMX1-4 were all released about a year apart, from 1994-1997, some of which were released in the same year as games from the main series. This isn't counting spin-offs and portable titles. The Gameboy Mega Man games all came out from 1991-1994, with II and III BOTH being released in 1992.

So the only question we should ask for MM10 to be coming out ~15 months later is: what took so long??? :D
My advice is grab the MM Collection on Gamecube
Don't do that. Get it on PS2 or Xbox instead. The reversed button swap absolutely kills the GameCube version's playability. Lord knows why they thought it'd be a good idea to make A shoot and B to jump. Even worse knowing that you *can't* adjust it.

When I got the GC collection, I was perfectly fine with it. I went on to beat every single MM game on the disc with the exception for 7. A few months ago I got the PS2 version for the heck of it.

A) Wouldn't have come out so soon.
Why? How is it bad a good game comes out sooner or unexpected?

Kinda bummed that the E-can drink isn't just an actual blue-ass can with a bold E on it, but cool nonetheless.

I don't know if you'll knew this or not, but there is more than just Sheep Man announced. There is another boss announced in that same issue of Nintendo Power, just on the page that isn't scanned. It also apparently is coming out in March. The Megaman Network has a story about it

The Megaman Network story

My thoughts
Commando Man looks pretty cool and his stage apparently has sections with low visibility due to sand storms. March can't come quick enough.

Heh, I know what I'm playing in March, Mega Man 9 was so kick ass. I hope 10 has a kick ass soundtrack and is just as punishing lol! :p

Guess I need to try to finish more than two levels in 9 before 10 drops...though regardless I'll be getting it anyway.

Something interesting was brought to my attention. The first 2 Robot Master revelations of MM10 are related to Capcom properties.

Sheep Man = Flock
Commando Man = Commando/Bionic Commando

So I wonder what other Capcom properties they'll look to for name inspirations. Also, it's coming to PSN/XBLA, so this should probably be moved the GG&IN.

Surely Commando Man is from Commando, because if it was based on Bionic Commando on the 360/PS3, they'd have to name him Shit Man.

Well, Capcom's release the 360 achievements for MM10. Seems very close to the achievements to MM9.

Whomp Wily! (5)
Clear the game once.

Blue Bomber (10)
Clear the game in under an hour.

Superhero (10)
Clear the game on hard.

Hard Rock (20)
Make it to a boss room without getting damaged.

Headbanging (20)
Defeat the 8 bosses without your helmet on.

Destroyer (20)
Defeat 1000 enemies.

World Warrior (5)
Defeat one of every type of enemy.

Trusty Sidearm (20)
Defeat the 8 bosses with just your default weapon.

No Coffee Break (10)
Clear the game without using any energy, mystery, or weapon tanks.

Tenacious (20)
Clear the game without continuing.

Invincible (30)
Clear the game without dying.

Mr. Perfect (30)
Clear the game without getting damaged.

I was trying to compare achievements, and one I noticed (Blue Bomber) is on both games, just as a different achievement, but they were all challanges IIRC in one way or another if they weren't all achievements. Hooray for originality?

Seriously though, can't wait. I'll be getting it on the 360 for the achievements though myself.
Wow, those achievements look pretty fuckin hard. Still getting this on the Wii. Just feels natural.
Yeah... Usually achievements would be a good reason for me to get something for the 360 instead of the Wii, but in this case... I'm not going to be unlocking any of those anyway. :p

The series did take a little dive after X4. But I still think X5 & X6 are solid entries. Getting all the diffrent armors was cool. X8 is also very good and often overlooked (due to the crappy X7) IMO X8 is by far the hardest in the series.

I played through most of X5 before realizing Mega Man finally got the ablity to duck. I was trying to go down some stairs and I wasn't exactly on them. I was like "WTF is Mega doing!?" Also I think the whale boss in X5 has a remixed version of Launch Octupus BGM.

For the orginal series MM2 will always be my favorite. But I loved them all.

I'm somewhat disappointed that this game is in the same vein as MM9. I guess I was just hoping that the tenth entry in the Mega Man series would warrant something unique from its predecessor. Maybe it would somehow incorporate all the sprites of all the previous games? Still this is way better than another 10 year drought.

forgot getting Mr. Perfect, I was only able to beat 3 bosses in Mega Man 9 before not playing anymore. It was crazy hard, and I was a hardcore Mega Man player back in the day.

+5 I loved X4 more than the others. Although, X8 closely follows in 2nd for me.

The only Megaman game (both original, X, Zero) that really gave me trouble was X6, specifically Metal Shark Player's stage. The stage design was so freaking irritating. Anyway, I guess I'm one of the few that still wishes Capcom to bridge the original Megaman series to the X series.

I don't know If its just me or not,but it seems the older I get the worst I am at games instead of better. Back in the day I could beat the Mega Man games. While hard they was beatable. Now of days I never did beat Mega Man 9. Although I did get to the final stages. =/

I am at Wiley's stage or whatever, but I stopped due to dying a bunch. I played MM1-3 a lot back in the day (I even remember how I got MM3), and don't recall having the trouble I have had with MM9. Also, I agree with jamn619 that I have gotten worse at games as I have aged, at least in certain genres.

I play old-school games often. If anything I think my skill has improved since I was a kid. Just recently I beat Castlevania ReBirth. Took me a good 45 mintues to beat Dracula, but damn it was satisfiying.

I put most Castlevania games' difficulty levels in the same category as Ghosts n' Goblins. Hard because of the horribly crippled controls.
