Mega Man 10 - Bass, Special Stage 1 on April 5th
As I recall, it was 200X for the original series, and 20XX for the X series.

So obviously, someone here was dressed up as a blue robot and ran around tearin' shit up last year.

...

My vote is Rodimus. Shifty motherfucker.
According to my copy of King of the Monsters 2 for the SNES, we got our shit torn up 11 years ago.

Lies! If monsters destroyed the world in 1999, then how do you explain Smash TV? Huh?

OMG this game comes out monday, I should replay MM9 in anticipation for this.

Anyway does Mega Man have a megabuster in this game, or is it still just protoman?

I gotta say, I am pretty damn excited to finally be spending some of my stored Wii points. I'll be downloading this later today.

Oh man, I wanted to wait for the PS3 release but I don't know if I can, knowing that it's already available. I really hater holding the Wiimote sideways, too... but I might have to give in.

Quick question, does this game recycle music like MM9 did with Mega Man 2's music or is all new original stuff? My only complaint with 9 was the recycled music. Getting this game on friday when I can hit the mall for a card.

My brother played and beat the game with the Classic Controller.

Didn't realize that was an option. I don't have a Classic Controller, though, so it doesn't do me much good unfortunately. Thanks anyway!

Would it be overkill to buy it on both systems? ;)
Wait. What?
From MM9, the start load game screen, the kill a boss theme, get a weapon theme, robot intro, are all if not copies from megaman 2, they are slight revamps that the changes are hardly noticeable to me. Sadly enough I have every megaman song memorized from playing 1-6 so damn much, I notice little things like this, lol. Either way 9 was fucking awesome and I am sure 10 is going to be probably better.

I'm not sure why I subjugate myself to this sort of torture, but I suppose it wouldn't really be Megaman if I didn't feel like throwing my control through the screen.

Sheep Man has been beaten. Not sure if this is the correct order, but I took a stab and finally beat him after a few tries.

I decided to throw caution to the wind and downloaded it. I'm playing on so-called "Easy" mode and still think it's pretty hard, but not too hard. This works for me, a newb. After beating it this way (if) I'll go back and try it on Normal. Or maybe I'll switch sooner as it says your score doesn't count for leaderboards in Easy mode. Not sure. Anyway, so far so good. I've beaten three of the bosses so far.

After reading all the dlc they're milking for it, I think I'll save my points for Perfect Dark and get the game later.

DLC available on March 5th, 2010 will include:

 • Bass mode (unlock the Bass character) – 200 Wii Points
 • Special Stage 1 – 100 Wii Points
Even more DLC arriving on March 26th, 2010:

 • Endless Attack Mode – 300 Wii Points
 • Special Stage 2 – 100 Wii Points
 • Special Stage 3 – 100 Wii Points
They're charging for Bass? He should be in the game already.

From what I can see, no. Sounds like it's all new music. Also, the music from the trailer Capcom threw at us comes from Nitro Man's stage.

Sheep Man's the easiest to memorize and deal with. He's pretty much the one you wanna go with first.

From what I can see so far...

Sheep Man > Pump Man > Solar Man > Chill Man > Nitro Man

Haven't figured out the rest just yet.

Also, Bass is confirmed for being the first DLC. Hackers already found out he's already programmed in the game (Capcom's going with old Dreamcast methods of DLC, having people pay for a piece of code to unlock data already programmed in the game) and discovered that Bass fires multiple shots at once and supposedly can dash. Raggae also makes an appearance for Bass' shop, Treble merges with Bass when using him similar to how you would use Rush with Mega Man, and three Mega Man Killer weapons are supposedly in the game, likely within the Secret stages.

I played this last nightwith the Nyko Wing classic controller equivalent, and it made clear what a crappy controller that is. They don't know how to make triggers in particular. Tonight I'm going to use the Nintendo CC, but Iook forward to the release of the CCPro.

I blasted through the game on Easy Mode, and wow...that is quite a difference in speed from Easy to Normal. If you have reservations about difficulty, play on that mode because you're basically given max energy/weapons every 30 seconds.

I got Blue Bomber, Tenacious and Untouchable. I dare say Mr. Perfect is somewhat easily obtainable on this mode since you can save after each Wily stage on Easy too.

They aren't kidding about that easy mode. I blasted through Pump Man's stage in one try without dying. And I am decidedly not good at Mega Man games.

Bah...I'm not that great at MM games (I can beat them but it takes me forever) but I won't touch easy mode. Maybe...just maybe, I'll give my 7 year old a break and let him play on easy.:)

IGN's review of Megaman 10]Speaking of beating the game said:
at all. After beating the game, I felt like I got through it with much more ease than I did Megaman 9. Whereas I probably had to use upwards of ten continues to beat 9 during my first playthrough, I would say I only used two or three to beat 10. And for the record, I did play it on Normal mode.

Perhaps I was simply warmed up for 10, whereas for 9 I had to overcome a four- or five-year Megaman hiatus...

So it is that easy?

No, it's just that kids on sugar have super human abilities.

As far as Rank 2 Challenges, I'm down to 3: Superhero, World Warrior and Mr. Perfect. I honestly think Suprhero is the toughest one.

I bought it today, game is fucking awesome except that it seems every fucking robot master is a panzy if you have their weakness. I mean I was knocking them down in like 3-5 hits and well no real fight, lol.

Sir Fragalot, may I introduce you to Mega Man?

Some of the bosses especially ones like solar man went really quick to go down in general. Faster than I am used to.

Anyway bet the game today, game is fucking awesome. Now to try challenge mode.

You folks are all uber gamers. I'm playing through on Easy mode and I've found it pretty difficult, especially the final boss which I'm currently stuck at
(or what I presume is the final one, since the previous one was a trick - I'm at the second skull icon on the map, two Dr. Wily's.)
Damn thing is tough.

I tried last night, briefly, starting another save in Normal mode and I don't think I could ever beat the game on Normal. Hell, I'm not sure I'd even beat one boss, nor even get to them! It's so friggin' difficult. At the moment, at least, Normal mode is anything but fun, so I guess I won't be buying MM9. But... I've really enjoyed the game in Easy mode, so definitely am happy with the purchase. I wish they had (separate) leaderboards for Easy mode (and Hard for that matter). Why not?

Gunm: they had a very small selection of demos for a little while, but I guess it was just an experiment as they took them away and none have returned so far. :( Maybe they will bring demos back and on a bigger scale? Only Nintendo knows.

I bet the 8 robot masters on hard mode. I tried Dr. Wiley's castle on hard but I am deciding if I wanna keep my sanity or not before I decide to go back and try Wiley's castle on hard again

Woohoo! Last night I beat the game. OK, so on easy, but still. :) For a newb like me, it was an accomplishment. Now I will attempt a run through on Normal, but I don't know how far I'm going to get. I make a few attempts at a start on it last night, and definitely Sheep Man's level is easier then the upper left one (forget the name offhand), so S.M. seems doable, but I haven't quite managed it yet. In my two attempts last night I ran out of continues before I got to Sheep Man.

One question, after having completed the game on easy, it unlocked some new challenges, and then I went to the challenges for the first time. I played some of the single level challenges and I noticed that it was registering their completion under my name. But that menu is at the top level, before you choose a save. How do my kids do the challenges then or can they? Is it based on what game you last loaded? I.e. if they loaded their save and played until they ran out of continues and then went back to the menu and into the challenges would it then be their name and their set of challenges? I didn't get to try this out, I was just thinking this morning that maybe that's how it works.

Been playing normal mode with Proto Man, the game is fucking awesome! I love old-school Mega Man to death so more is definitely better, especially if they continue being this quality! I feel its a tad easier than MM9, that is until you get to the Wiley levels. Then the difficulty gets cranked up in a big way.

As far as using weapons against weaknesses, I was too lazy to figure it out so I decided to go old-fashion and use the buster lol :p Even with that, they were not hard (except for Blade Man, motherfucking Blade Man kept handing my ass to me)

Once I finish it, I'll be playing the challenge stages. I also want to play the special stages too so I guess Capcom is going to make some money off of me afterall.

I've been making progress on Normal mode. Admittedly I cheated a bit and looked up the ideal order of bosses, which certainly makes things easier. In fact the bosses are a cake walk this way, but the path to them is still quite a challenge. I've got 3 bosses to go before Wily's Castle. Also played a bunch more of the challenges. I've yet to get a gold on any of the ones requiring you to take no damage, but I've finished a bunch of them now, plus a bunch of the ones where just finishing gets you a gold. At what point does your rank go up higher then "E"?

We'll be getting Bass, but it's unclear to me what this does for the game. Do you just get to play the game with that character, but it's still the same game? Is that it? If it were up to me I'd not get Bass, then, but my kids (7 and almost 10), much to my surprise, are really loving this game, and they want Bass, and we're loaded with points, so why not? I'm more interested in the special stages. Is there any word when any of this DLC will be available?

Mega Man, Proto Man, and Bass all have different abilities, but the stages remain the same.

From what I've seen Bass retains his rapid fire and dash along with his Treble transformation. Not sure if he takes more damage like Proto Man.

I'm down to just Strike Man left in Normal mode, then onto Wily's. When I first started this game I didn't think I'd finish even one level in Normal mode, so yeah! I'm scared of what Wily's is going to be like in Normal mode, though....
