I'm not a huge fan of Mega Man like some of you here are, but I thought some people may want to know about this.

Hopefully it'll be something conclusive to the storyline rather than another clone. I wanna see when

This. You also forgot to add zero killing wily and bass.;) The fanmade essay regarding the events between 8 and the x series was a great read and was well thought out. We can only hope if this rumor pans out , that capcom takes to same care with the game , which unfortuntly seems unlikely.

Also we need a proper conclusion to the X series as well. Although that could prove more difficult since the Zero series was originally made based off the assumption that X5 was the last X game , so they'd have to do some retconning of the story again.

For once I'm praying for "more of the same". I just want a gorgeous (2-D) looking side-scroller that stays true to MM1-8. Please don't fuck this up Capcom.

While I too would love to see a Megaman game finally tie up these loose ends I doubt it will ever happen since that means the core megaman game franchise would officially be over. As for the X storyline, man has that just become a huge , huge mess. Should have called it a day with X5 like planned.
 
I hope the visuals go back to the original Mega Man. Since now they have the technology to actually make the game look like the box art.

I don't really see this as an issue , seeing as capcom clearly isn't doing anything with the core franchise anyway , other than the potential of remaking the older games Powered Up style , which this wouldn't really cause an issue with. I mean , if it took them nearly a decade to finally make MM9 , I don't think they are in a big rush to do anything more with the classic series.
 
I'm being hopeful, but I think the reason Capcom is finally making this game is because Keiji Inafune or somebody genuinely has some good innovative ideas to refresh the series.
 
i would love to see a megaman 9 .finally they can tie megaman and x together .i would aslo like to see a megaman legends 3 (stuck on Elysium) .but i doubt either of these will ever happen.

Oh I agree completely, but I doubt Capcom will want to close that door just yet. Is there any news about the remakes of megaman X2 and x3 on the psp or have those been canned?
 
Makes me want to go and play the Megaman games I haven't.

I saw the anniversary collection for $10 today...maybe I should have gotten it.

A lot of retro games going HD, so i'm not surprised this will be available for the PSN and XBL. Look what we're having now, SF HD, Commando 3...

As in new do you mean the Battle Network series or the newer X games like X7 & X8?

If I could get a Hi-Res 2D Mega Man game that stuck to the original formula I would gladly spend good money for it. I miss the simple master robot designs like Cuts-man, Snake-man or Bubble-man.
 
 
I really hope they're holding out announcing anything for XBLA and PSN because they'll get the X series instead, I really wish they would have went with atleast 16 bit graphics but I am not complaining at all. AND HE SAYS HE WANTS TO MAKE MORE!

I'm tired of all the PS2 gimp'd ports. and trash party games. PS2 had a ton of trash games too but the Wii side is getting ridiculous. They killed Rock Band. If they deliver on GHIV like they say they're going to then that too will help.
