Mega Man 9 Coming to Wii - Update: Again... Now for PSN/XBLA and Rubber Surgeon
Woodman's was always my favorite BG music. But Skullman's music is great too.
Please tell me you've heard the Neskimos versions of the Mega Man music. I know they've done Wood Man, Bubble Man, Crash Man, Air Man, Wily stage 1 &2, and Sigma Stage 1. Great stuff, definitely check it out.

Edit: Just checked, they've also got Mega Man 2's intro, password, and ending music, as well as Snake Man and Spark Man from Mega Man 3.

I've heard some of "The Advantage" stuff, but I never heard of Neskimos. I'll check that out.
Am I the only one who thought of this when seeing "dental plan" in the title?

Dental Plan! Lisa needs braces!

No, you aren't. I still don't know what it has to do with this topic.

Can we get a comparison shot of system controllers in here?

It's good that it's coming to XBLA/PSN, but...I can't imagine myself playing it on either, especially the 360 (d-pad, d-pad, D-PAD!).
Coming to PSN and XBL as well.

Let the back-pedaling begin!
Looks amazing.. can't wait.

Kind of strange though, the backwards trend in graphics?
Megaman 6 - NES 8-bit
Megaman 7 - SNES 16-bit
Megaman 8 - PSX/Saturn 32-bit
Megaman 9 - (NES Style?) 8-bit

Let's face it, Mega Man's gameplay hasn't evolved much over the years. The old, "8 Master Robot/Equip Your Weapons" formula still works. I don't see the big deal in why the graphics should be anything better.

I'm going out on a limb here but let's say they released a brand-new $40 Mega Man game with new graphics and it played like the same ol' Mega Man. It would be criticized for being too simplistic & over-priced, only fans would buy it, wouldn't make money, and no Mega Man 10 for another 2 decades.

To me this is the most logical revival of the original Mega Man series. Pardon my rant. ;)

If they stick with the same formula, staying old school completely is a very logical choice. I don't mind it, I actually think the gaming world needs more 8-bit action ;D

Can't, I'm about to have no health insurance :(

Mega Man 9 trailer:
Opening:
First level(Hard Man's stage):
Second level:
Looks like this might be setting up for elements of Mega Man X to be introduced. Also noticed that there is no Mega Buster charging up in any of the videos, so it looks like it might be cut out of this game(wtf?).

I love that they actually went with the NES design, cause the 16 & 32-bit games were kinda clunky compared to the NES games. This has to be the one game that out of all the games of E3 that I'm actually excited about.

yeah, they've mentioned it a few times that it would not be in. Which makes sense as they're trying to bring it back to the era of Mega Man 2 (charge shot first appeared in the 4th game)

Awsome videos, looks Mega-Cool.

In the interview the guy mentioned no "power slide" or "mega buster." But I have a feeling that that the power slide might become unlockable as you progress through the game. I say this only because I noticed an item in the Hard Man level that looked like it could only be obtained via power slide. I'm assuming they'll have you revisit levels to get all the bolts (what ever they're used for) kinda like MM8.

Anyone else notice Chun Li as the Anchor Woman on the news?

Man, I love the videos I've seen of this game so far. It might not look how I want it to, but it certainly seems like it'll play right.

I get this really odd feeling watching these and thinking about how the game is being made now.

Nonetheless, very excited.

Damn this is looking it's going to turn out a lot better than I thought it would. Much as I love the original games I'd still prefer more updated graphics for this, but everything else about it looks great.

Also you just gotta love the "box art":

I really wish Capcom would release a super exclusive, limited edition of Mega Man 9. Put the game on an NES cart, in an old-style NES box with a printed instruction book, epilepsy warning and codes to download the three digital versions. I'd pay at least $50 for a setup like that.
wtf Hardman?!?!?!

Hardman was MegaMan 3!!!! u cant redo a robot master... it's just wrong!!
That was Plug Man, the guy just got confused.

Hey guys... not sure where I saw this (might have been here), but I remember hearing something about GameCrazy getting an exclusive 3 disc bundle which will include MMAC, MMXC, and something else. Anyone know anything about this?

Sure it wasn't some other game, if there is a bundle? Mega Man 9 will only be a download-only game. Capcom mentioned during E3 and makes sense, cause it would be much more costly to publish an actual disc.

A bundle actually wouldn't make sense either. Because MMXC & MMAC are last-gen games & it would be weird to pair it with a current-gen game. Not to mention if it was for all 3 systems, the 360 would be short MMXC since it never came out for the original Xbox.

Actually the bundle was just for MMXC, MMAC, and something else... MM9 won't be included.. I just figured I would post in this topic since it's a Mega Man topic. :]

EDIT: Apparently I wasn't making it up. Here it is, from megamanlegacy.com:

Capcom will be releasing a bundle pack on the PS2 consisting of "MegaMan Anniversary Collection", "MegaMan X Collection" and some sort of "special DVD." Apparently, Game Crazy stores are listing this set in their computers for a release date in November 2008.
NT Warrior? hmm..
NT Warrior was the English title of the Megaman.EXE anime. iirc, it was another show 4Kids picked up. Leave it to them to make a kids show even more kiddy.

Hey guys

http://www.capcom-unity.com/kramez/blog/2008/07/22/mega_man_9_

The image above is a photo of the super-limited edition t-shirts (1 of 4!) that we had created for Inafune-san and Takeshita-san to wear during E3. You should have seen people's eyes light up when they saw this image emblazoned across Inafune-san's chest; it's not often you see a global head of R&D sporting something so hideous on his torso. In fact, I wore one of the MM9 shirts to the unbelievable Rock Band party during E3 and I thought I was going to get ganked by a pack of slavering industry fanboys. Capcom's marketing team in the US is super-stoked that everyone is getting what we're doing with the box art (including the Japanese dev team) and I promise you that we'll have some t-shirts of this beauty available for purchase soon!
fuck YES.
