DDO update:

I was questing last night, some of my guys wanted to do Shan-To-Kor it was 30% off.

Catacombs is also 30% off, and I got Necropolis for 20% off.

Might be more on sale, ran out of free cash.

Got them for free, of course by using my favor rewards.

Anniversary is coming up next week, looking for another big sale.

By the way guys, skip buying the extra stuff and just get adventures. They're more worth it than an item you can find in-game. Plus you get to play for free longer. Figure I will toss them some cash eventually, since I have played for a straight month every day.

PM me and I'll run with anyone. I think I got guys on every server. been staying on Khyber a lot. Look for Stasya, the best healer ever.

That's the server I am on also, Sarlona.

Raq Nar is my character.

Stepmania
Megazell's Top Pick

Action/Arcade
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - Yes

Theme: Music

Stepmania plays along with the Dance Dance Revolution formula. There is a song playing in the background, and you must tap the arrows in beat with the song or risk failure. There are a few changes from Dance Dance Revolution to Stepmania that are worth noting, however. They may not seem significant, but they do make the difference in the hardcore fans' choice.

This first of these is an extra note grade above perfect. The grades in Stepmania go:

* Miss
* Bad (hit way off)
* OK (hit in general area)
* Good (slightly better than OK)
* Great (hit the note relatively accurately)
* Perfect (hit the note almost dead on)
* Marvelous, the new note grade (hit the note absolutely, 100% dead on. within screen lag)

Along with a new note grade, Stepmania also adds a new kind of note. These notes are known as mines, and, as you might expect, you must avoid them. If you are so in-tune with the song that your feet just sort of find the arrows, you might hit a mine or two, as they are placed at the perfect moments. However, they are incredibly easy to spot, given that they look nothing like normal arrows.

Rider 2

A Superb Motor Bike Simulator.

This Bike simulator has plenty of realism that other games of this type do not have. You start of with a moped delivering goods to a destination on the other side of town while driving your bike through a busy suburban city, where people and other drivers go about there daily business. If you jump red lights or get seen speeding on certain parts you will get a ticket from the local Policeman that seems to hide. Every time you delivery the goods on time you can upgrade your bike to something different and faster.
You use the mouse to drive your bikes and it works really well, you have a outlined box on the screen with a arrow, push the arrow to the top for max speed and pull it back to break. On the first screen you get pick the 3rd option to pick you first bike what is a moped. The game graphics and sound are OK and the gameplay is smooth just like riding a real bike. This game is a fun simulator and is a must for a try.

Megazell's Comment - Great game but it's all in JAPANESE. You can still play it and completed objectives but you will find yourself replaying areas where it should have been obvious what to do had you read the signs...but that may be difficult - Right click to look behind you.

ASS - Advanced Shiny Simulation
aka
A Day In The Life Of Dave Perry

Puzzle
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Science Fiction

This is a remake of “Orion” – a 2D mazegame set in space, originally programmed by Ian Beynon and released for the ZX Spectrum computer by Software Projects in 1983.

You are Dave Perry, and you have to walk around the Shiny headquarters and collect all your games which has been scattered all around the offices.

You have to collect all 100 games to complete the game. You can also pick up money, which will give you more points, but too much of a good thing will make you blind, so after taking a coin, you won’t be able to see where you’re going…until you collect another game – or an extra life. Even more of a good thing is even worse – because if you take two coins in a row, you will loose a life – you have to pick up a game for each coin taken. Of course, you don’t have to collect the coins, but they’re usually laying all over the place…and very often in your way. You do have a personal shield for protection though. It doesn’t recharge very quickly, but if you activate it you can destroy the robots that a patrolling the levels.

So it’s a maze game – everybody knows how to play a maze game, right? In a nutshell – move around the maze, avoid all the enemies and collect a bunch of items. When you have collected enough items, you will have completed the game.

Rokka Chan

Shooter/Platformer
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Science Fiction

Japanese developer King (ou no soukutsu) has delivered indirectly the Christmas present I've been wanting: some hardcore Rockman/Mega Man style gaming. The story goes that Dr. Sane is creating robots that have human memories in his lab, with one such creation being the titular Rokko Chan. Against Sane's warning that it would be too dangerous, Rokko Chan ventures out to fight against Dr. Mad's robots in an 8-bit action platformer that rivals most official Rockman titles.

The mechanics deviate slightly from the Rockman series. Rokko has a bigger jump, for one. Her dash isn't as functional or low-ducking as Rockman's slide or X's dash, but it works for short speed bursts. The stage select features 6 bosses instead of 8 (an ode to the original Rockman). I haven't made it through all the bosses yet, but I found some neat mechanics such as stage rotating and vine swinging so far.

Rokko Chan's difficulty and long stages have a few breather spots at the mid point and before the boss fight, along with a Rockman 2 style password system for saving progress. Players have their choice of twitch input, too: keyboard or JoytoKey.

Equally important (for me, anyway) is the sound, and Rokko Chan is filled with amazing Rockman-esque chiptunes. - IndieGames.com
Awesome job! Mmm, how about some persistant mmofps??
So I did some digging for PERSISTANT MMOFPS and a great many of them are still in BETA or ALPHA stages. I have them all on search for updates on my Searchbot and will post them when they are in final beta or released status.

I would post them but I don't want another 'Section 8' situation :) For those that don't know Section 8 started as a free to play MMOFPS on the PC and went retail...the beta was HORRENDOUS.
PFF! Dwarf Fortress is much more a simulation than a turn based game..
Actually the correct genre as per the devs and listing is:

City-building game
Roguelike

Since those are not genres that I have listed I went by the next runner ups.

Check the link for yourself - http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6797667&postcount=703
Do I Have good news for you! The demo is both free AND legal! Also, I checked your thread and didn't see Dwarf Fortress.

edit: Ok.. dwarf fortress is there, but not a link to any builds with a tileset, and DF is more a simulation than a strategy game.
Emotional gamers :) LOL

Anyone that is interested in that game can click the primary link and learn about mods to their hearts desire.

The End.

Glad you enjoyed.

I found a lot of maps and add-ons for some of the others game and I thought about starting a free and legal mod thread but that would be too much actual work to be fun.

I found a few more roguelike games that may make it to the board...right now I am setting up for some QuakeLive SNOWED IN gaming with friends and family :)

Kernel Panic

Real Time Strategy
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - Yes

Theme: Science Fiction

Kernel Panic is a game about computers. Systems, Hackers and Networks wage war in a matrix of DOOM! The only constraints are time and space; unlike other real time strategy games, no resource economy exists in KP.

All units are free in this game, every factory built will be spamming units at all times. You can build more factories, but only on pre-defined areas (geothermal vents). All that remains is pure strategy and tactics.

KP makes for a frantically fast-paced, action-oriented game, with a very unique graphical style.

Megazell's Comment - "Kernel Panic is a serious RTS; it's fast-paced and its unforgiving nature is at odds with its visuals fidelity and not just in the false ‘simple equals easy' way. The harsh outlines and vague glows are aesthetically pleasing whilst looking at screen-captures and at the start of a match, but once the match gets going and units are spread across the map, be prepared to look away from time to time thanks to nausea." - A review from a forum that I frequent. It's on point with how this game plays.

Allods Online, or just Allods for short, is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG with some interesting Sci-Fi elements. The game mixes high fantasy elements with the space opera genre, but with a much greater emphasis on fantasy. Unlike other MMORPGs, Allods Online has a great emphasis on its storyline. The game takes place after the destruction of the planet Sarnout which led to the formation of floating islands in space called Allods. Fight for either the Empire or the League in this extremely polished MMORPG.

The World of Warcraft is strong with this one.

I heard it recently got a terribad cash shop and that the devs are way out of touch with the community. Is that true? Otherwise I've heard this is probably the best free MMO out there.

Unfortunately it is true which is a darn shame as I was thinking of trying it, but with the prices they think folks are going to pay, it's just not worth it. I've read various comments on the who fiasco that the publisher, gPotato, has pulled stunts like this in some of the other games they've published. See the first link below for the news and the second link for an analysis of it. Once again, a darn shame as this looked like a winner of a F2P MMO before they released the cash shop prices.

I would not be surprised but they would have an easier time getting gold from dried turds then getting cash from me ;)

I'll play it for the story and to have some fun with friends and that's about it.

Thanks Meg, I'll do some research on it too.

The Ferrari Virtual Race is a racing simulator, that allows you to race a Ferrari (customised for you at the Atelier) around the legendary Mugello circuit.

Megazell's Comment - I am not a racing fan. This game's graphics and the amount of cars you can choose are just spectacular. I found myself playing this game for longer than I thought. I am sure many racing game fans will like this game a bit.

I fucking hate the 'Wizard'!
In the table of contents for some reason Starguard is linking to postcount=1
Ty for the heads up. It's been corrected. It was actually postcount=923.

That's a great game. Has a nice story too. I love the way the developer inserted allies that assist you...or well at least they try :)

Helium Floating Object Engage Combat is a fan game of the classic NES game Balloon Fight. This time around, it has a storyline involving lizards! Who doesn't like that? I mean seriously. Lizards. This game is very old.
