Megazell's Free And Legal PC Games List!

The sequel to You Made It, this straight-forward platformer with its minimalistic style is purely about your gaming skills. Levels get increasingly more difficult, until they (literally!) become impossible.

Another neat addition is that when you fail, the game saves your previously taken path. Your blood also remains on the screen, even if you were to restart the game.

A perfection of my 360 degree gravity engine and gameplay. A casual, fresh and fun platformer. Walk upside down, jump from one object to another. Mushroom Kingdom Fusion

Action/Platformer
Single Player - Yes

Gamepad Support - Yes

Theme: Fantasy

Its an faithful platformer/platform shooter that merges characters and levels from many different gaming series into one awesome game. For example: Mario, Wario, Mega Man, Sonic, Ghouls n Ghost, Castlevania, Doom, Halo, Contra, R-Type, Zelda, Metal Slug etc. etc. etc…

From The Developer
0.3 takes forever to load because it was created with Game Maker 7, which wasn't very efficient. We moved to GM8 recently, now it only takes 2 minutes to load at most, it runs a little faster, we added like 35 stages, updates, fixed a ton of bugs, etc. It'll be released soon, stay tuned.

About more bugs, check our bug reports topics in our forums http://mkfusion.ipbfree.com, when 0.4 is released there will be new bugs probably, testers are always welcome.

Somewhere in this thread someone else brought up the same issue. I posted a statement from Capcom in which they considered the games to be fan edits and were not going to take any legal action at that time.

If that is no longer the case and/or if anyone from the forum wishes for me to take them down. I will do so.
Hey @Megazell what is your favorite " FREE " FPS on the PC ?
Quake Live and/or Nexuiz - For old school Frantic FPS action with friends and family online.

Personally, I like Nexuiz more but the majority of my people are on Quake Live.

Alliance Of Valiant Arms - For military, squad based combat itch.

Area 51 - For the SP aspect...it's not great but it was not dog shit like I thought it was going to be. It had a lot of intense moments that I did not expect to have and the overall atmosphere was pretty decent for a F2P game.

Open Beta - Super Smash Bros: NES - Open Beta

Action/Platformer
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Fantasy

Super Smash Bros.: NES is a classic take on the popular Smash Bros series.
Imagine a Smash Bros title two generations behind the original SSB on Nintendo 64... This is it!

Keep in mind that it's meant to be basic, and very similar to what it would be like, had it actually been released on the NES. So please don't complain about how there's only three moves, or the engine is too simplified, but again, this IS a PC game, so we didn't restrict ourself to 8-bit graphics EVERYWHERE, but don't worry it all fits together nicely.

.: Features :.
- Full Length Adventure Mode.
- 30 Collectable Cards.
- Hidden unlockable bonus characters.
- Unlockable Vs. Mode Stages.
- And MOAR!

Megazell's Comment - I put the beta label for argument sake only. The game seems to be a real release since their last version was out. The game is constantly being updated so I recommend hitting their site often if you find yourself enjoying this game.

Megazell's 2nd Comment - The main site is down - This is the last known activity thread for this game - http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=352030&st=0 - This game can be considered as is and probably will not be getting updated anytime soon. Unless someone knows better? Hit me up with a PM or Post it up.

The game is based on an Amiga game I once played many, many years ago.

A simple design.

You swirl around the outside of the arena, moving the mouse left and right.

You fire with the Left Mouse Button, you slowdown with the Right.

And you keep on going until you’re dead.

Because, you never can stop it!!

They just keep on coming!!!

Playing tip : Don’t let the blues get out of control! They’re your first priority.

I tried playing Mushroom Kingdom Fusion last night. The game took about 10 minutes to load each time I start it, ran pretty crappily and ran in a window about the size of a postage stamp. When I lowered the resolution of my screen, it ran in the space of about 5 postage stamps. The game seems great, is anyone else having these problems?

Wow.

I ran it before I posted it on a Windows XP, Vista and 98 SE machine.

The 98 SE machine ran REALLY slow...so I did not put the in the system requirements.

The game ran fine on XP and Vista and I clocked the game using SANDRA.

I am going to re-dl the links I put up and reinstall them to see if there is a problem just in case.

EDIT: BTW - F3 is full screen mode. Check the readme for other info on controls and video options.

2nd EDIT - So I re-dl it and re-installed it and it ran with no hiccups. I re-edited the post to indicate that everyone should DL the installer version not the beta version with the missing DLL that is talked about first on the primary link. Hopefully, this helps you Mr. original - IF ANYONE ELSE is having a problem - LET US KNOW!

Thanks for looking into this. I'm running it on Vista. I read on their forums that it can take a long time to load, but 7-10 min did seem a little long. Did it load up quickly for you? My computer is not amazing, but it is a 3 year old Toshiba Laptop so I thought it could handle it. Also, I did run the installer, not the weird beta thing.

It ran fine for me but I have a powerhouse rig. Usually, I test the game at the center since many of the machines there are average or below average configurations.

If other ppl from this forum tell me the game is not working for them I will red it and post up another.

I had that game sitting for a bit and after seeing a few other site recommending it I finally ran it and it's a lot of fun.

EDIT - Looks like the game is not working for a few other ppl. I got 3 PMs. I am going to dead the game and post up some more tomorrow.

If you fought the Bydo and shooted the Bacterians in the core, you are ready for the war against the evil god Hydorah. Choose the path to follow and fight planet by planet against hordes of meroptians. The game features lots of short and intense levels with fantasy spacial landscapes, unlockable weapons and secrets, and a large library of enemies and bosses. There is a single dificulty level, based on the 80's standards. It can be very hard, but with every beaten level there will come the glory.

Graphics and playability are both old school style, simple but hard polished. I want to give an special mention to the original soundtrack, composed exclusively by the brilliant Gryzor87, who has not hesitated in taking legendary synthesizers to create a retrofuturistic, powerful and sometimes dark soundtrack. Each level has a same-lenght track, composed to fit the visuals like a glove.

The whole game takes obvious influence from Gradius, Castlevania or R-Type, but also from other classics treated worse by the time: Turrican, Enforcer, Space Manbow, Hellfire, Guardian, Hydefos, Armalyte and many others...

Take the controls of your ship and prepare to die!

Opera Omnia

Adventure
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Mystery

Opera Omnia is an experimental game where you play a historian in a fictional country.

Quote Review -
In Opera Omnia you play a government historian who has to come up with convenient theories about migration in the past (of their own people and “the others”, a separate people). The story takes place in dialogue between the player and his politician friend.

The gameplay may be a bit hard to “get” at first: basically, you have to think backwards: if people were in this city during a plague, and if famines reduce population, that means that they had to have had a lot of people in order to survive that plague: thus, famines actually increase population if you work backwards in time.

The challenge of each level is that you’re given something to prove by your friend – such as prove that 300,000 people lived in this city a long time ago – and you adjust migration patterns that will show how 300,000 people could have lived in that city a long time ago. Gradually you realize that you’ve been helping prove truths which have political import…
This game is really one of the most inventive and impressive indie games I’ve played in quite a while. I do wish it were more polished and had nicer art, but even as it is right now it’s a masterpiece. - rinkuhero

The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge

Adventure
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No
Netbook Friendly

Theme: Weird

When the inventor/magician known as Old Man Bill suddenly disappears from his house in the middle of the desert, his friends, companions and pets start worrying: what could have happened? To solve this sinister mystery, they call upon their old acquaintance, pretentious game designer Jonas Kyratzes, who builds a magical portal into the Lands of Dream. Using this portal, YOU can now interact with the wondrous and colourful world of the house at Desert Bridge, and help Harold the Talking Picture Frame and his friends locate their master, Old Man Bill.

In reality, The Strange and Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge is a transdimensional portal – but if your friends don’t believe you, tell them it is something of an old-school adventure game, with wonderful hand-drawn graphics, beautiful music and a lot of humour.

Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Fantasy

Trouble is afoot in the once peaceful land of Turnvale... Skori warriors (vicious mercenaries under the control of the mysterious Temptress) have arrived. But who is the Temptress, and more importantly, where is she?

From the creators of the Broken Sword series, Revolution Software, comes the first in a series of 'Virtual Theater' adventure game. Non-playable characters will walk around and perform different actions regardless of your interaction with them. There is a variety of options and commands, including the possibility of interaction with a supporting character, whom you can give orders in order to solve some of the game's puzzles.

Lure of the Temptress has an intuitive point and click system. Everything you need to do (movie, talk, search and fight) is controlled via the mouse and its two buttons. It's all you need to explore a large and complex game world with over 60 screens to explore... more than 25 intriguing characters to interact with... and of course, Selena - the Temptress.

Megazell's Top Pick
Bontango
Megazell's Top Pick

Real Time Strategy
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - Yes

Theme: Fantasy

Developed by Juniors at DigiPen Institute of Technology, Bontãgo is an intense single or multiplayer 3d real-time strategy game.

Players begin with flags (one color for each player) spaced evenly around the edge of a large disk, called the field, balanced on a fulcrum in the center. Around each flag is a circle representing that player's controlled area. Every few seconds a block appears on each player's cursor. The players must place the blocks somewhere in their controlled areas. Players can place the block at any moment in the allotted time, or can hold it until time is up and the block will fall on its own and be replaced by the next block.

Megazell's Comment - This game is a lot of frustrating fun. It's a mix of a lot of genres but I decided to list it under RTS since the resources needed to achieve the goal are placed in real time. If anyone else has a better genre to shove this into let me know. Enjoy.
