“wonderfl build flash online” is a online Flash IDE and community. The 3 major features are:

“Build from scratch”, starting to write Action Script3.
“Fork” to copy and edit ActionScript created by other users.
“Download” computer to save ActionScript of your choice to your computer.

Megazell's Comment - Great website devoted to short flash games. You can actually see the code that's behind the game on the side. It's an open source site for flash that easy to get into and mess with.

Thread Update.

I added 2 new sections to the Strategy genre listing on the first page of this thread.

MOBA games will be under Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Previously they were inside of the Real Time Strategy section.

TCG games will be under Trading Card Games. Previously they were inside of the Turn Based Strategy section.

Each post now reflect this change also.

Silver Chair Episode IV is now available:
http://www.tsl-game.com/episode_iv.php

This post about the series should probably be updated:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7403413&postcount=1622

Also, several Space Quest fan games have been released recently.

Space Quest 2: Vohaul’s Revenge, a full VGA remake of the same title by the guys at Infamous Adventures, who also made a Kings Quest III VGA remake, which is different than the KQ3 remake by AGD already on the list:
http://www.infamous-adventures.com/home/index.php?page=games

Vohaul Strikes Back, a fan-made feature-length sequel to the series

Space Quest: Incinerations, a reimagining of Space Quest as a modern-day action-packed sci-fi thriller:

The game is finally complete, and a beta version can be downloaded.

Only the windows installer is available right now, but we are working to have the Linux package as soon as possible. If you want to play the game in Linux you can download the source code and compile it yourself, if you have any compilation issue, please contact us.

Although Saul Cross is not listed in the contributor list, he has arranged all the original music for this remake. We want to thank him with all our heart for his great themes, this game would not be the same without them :). You can see his work at http://www.simple-media.co.uk/

We hope you have fun playing it!

Megazell's Comment - Pew Pew Pew[/QUOTE]
You might want to put some comment on this post that this was a one-day event only, which was today. They were testing out some server software for allowing 1000 players in a FPS at once, and going for the Guinness world record.

Also, it was up to 500 players for "men" fighting up to 500 players for "machine," so 1000 players total, and no bots.

The game was up for about 2 hours. I tried to get in at the beginning but they had way more than 1000 people trying to play, jamming the server. The main site actually went down, and they posted a link to a mirror on twitter.

I went away and watched TV and came back a little before 12:00PM EST, and was able to finally get in. I played as man for a few respawns, then someone got switched over to a machine, which I played until the end. The map was fairly small and open, likely to show the scale of the number of players. They reboot the server a few times as I was playing, i think attempting to rebalance the game on the fly. On the last "rebalance," the favor tipped way in favor of the machines, and we ended up slaughtering men as soon as they respawned. Then the game ended. From what I heard, they did manage to reach 1000 simultaneous players for the world record.

The developers streamed video from their offices as the game was on, you can view it all here:

I'm going to guess Terra: Battle for the Outland, which went F2P in 2003.

Man, you know I've been trying to remember this game's name for a minute now. This game is actually freeware and not 'F2P.' It has no cash shop or subscription method.

How's this evening for ya? What's your name? Do you has the skypes?

And keep in mind that I just started playing the game. Nothing unlocked yet. I haven't even tried using explosives for momentum. Not that it really matters; with the level of the competition, I'm guaranteed to get away so long as I've got at least 100 kph, and a pretty damn good success rate even if I've no momentum whatsoever.

EDIT: Also, any preference on server?

Sure. Anytime after 10ish PM EST is great for me.

Yes - Megazell

I played it for 22 mins myself.

That's... 9 PM for me? 8? God damn changing time zones. Whatever; I'll be on at 8 and play pubs for an hour if that's the wrong time.

And if you're at all uncomfortable with the game, I can't recommend Rabbit mode enough. Turrrrible EXP gains, but a few rounds of that as a pathfinder will teach you more than any tutorial.

Thanks for the code, and thanks for your contribution to these forums in general!

Now that it has been 7-8 years since it went free to play, maybe I should try it. :/

NP.

Anarchy Online held my attention for 40 days exactly awhile back. I like it and the community that I met was very very very friendly. Then for some reason I lost my friends list and I've been reluctant to get back in. I should hop in soon because I had some great fun during the raids.
