Well this program works well with Windows 7. Had a friend with Windows 7 test it. You should check with the flash sites you're hitting if it's cool to dl their games but for the most part many developers seem to be OK with it.

Visiting the site on Mac OS X reveals a message that they are working on Mac support with an option to be notified by email when available. Megazell's Comment - I really like Desura. I find myself spend a lot of time using their service because of the support they give towards freeware and Linux. If I ever break my code and start buying it would be with Desura and possibly GOG.

Hey Megazell, Aion is going F2P in Europe on February 28 and in the spring for the US. I played the game at launch and it was great, I just had to stop for financial reasons. I recommend it (at least until Guild Wars 2 comes out) as it was a ton of fun and a beautiful MMO.
 
Hey Megazell, I assumed that you meant that Realm of the Mad God is NOW on Steam, right? :) Just checking since I'm super addicted to this game, ever since I was denied a level 20 archer last night....

I really like this game it started out feeling simple enough but I've been showing it to some other people and it's starting to grow on me as I am playing with it more and more often with others. I think in the multiplayer portion is where it really shines. Mind you it's not jaw dropping like so many other intense racing games out there but it's great for me. I'm sure if this team had the budget of other studio houses they could release some super stellar stuff instead of this great gem.

Also... and sorry if i missed it... but is there a list of games that are free that AREN'T fan made? Nothing against them but I was hoping most of these weren't fan made, but just free, be it older or indie games. But is there a list of games that are free that are made by companies and not by fans?

99% of the MMORPGs are not fanmade. In fact, only 1 is while the rest are made by a public/private studio.

As for the rest you would have to know the franchises to pick them out. The list is:

43% Fan made.
39% Former retail and/or F2P
18% Student made.

I'll say though that you will be missing out on some stellar gems by passing on all of the fan made stuff.
