Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsubsistance Limited Edition no more?

It is the same as the regular version but includes a making of DVD, Ada Wong Laser Cell, and a prolog book in a cool tin case.

You may be able to find this at your local EB/GS, I've still seen them available.

If you are a Resident Evil fan this is definately worth getting, if not stick with the regular version or GameCube version (if you have it).

I rarely say this, but the case alone makes it worth having imo. I lucked up on this one. My local Rhino got in a used copy of the LE. Everything included was in mint condition except for the game disk. But they made no distinction in the price, it was selling used (at the time) for $35, just like the regular edition copies. So I asked the clerk, "Can you sell me a new copy for $40 and just put that game disk in the LE case?". Worked out great - the game disk itself is identical anyway, and the other disk looked untouched. Only thing I didn't get was the laser cell, but I walked away w/ the LE for the regular price, so I didn't really care. :)

IMPORTANT NEWS!!! EB AND GS ARE RECEIVING EXTRAS!!

Two EB's here told me on the phone they had one extra for sale (a friend just got one, he told me his EB only had one extra too, so that's three EB's)... one EB wouldn't hold it, one EB only gave me until noon (I called at 11:30 am). I hurried my ass off to get down there, after finding parking got there at 11:58 am... employee told me I was lucky, in a few more minutes he was going to sell it to the guy in the store who came in right after I called.

The best part is, he still had leftover MGS Saga DVD's, and he gave me one with my purchase!!!

I would recommend people to start calling their stores NOW, because it seems like alot of EB's are just getting in one extra on top of preorders.
 
I just snagged myself a copy as well! I had to call a few EBs/GS, most of them told me them told me they weren't get any extra whatsoever. I ended up calling a store who was taking them out of the boxes when I called, and she said had one extra, but I better get there within an hour. Good luck to everyone else!
 
I emailed Konami a couple days ago about the LE. Here was there response:

Thank you for contacting Konamistyle.com. The LE of the game (39.99) features an additional disc. This 3rd disc contains all the Snake Eater movies re-edited into a feature length feature. Unfortunately, this was a pre-order special. It will be next to impossible to find any more. Check with local (not online) retailers at EB, Gamestop and Gamecrazy to see if any copies are still available.

I am way late in getting onto this one ... I usually get all the LE's, etc. but I have been so busy with other stuff that I missed out :p

Looks like they underprinted this unfortunately. Oh well.

I hate fucking gamestop. I called and talked to a CSR my order will be canceled cause they are getting no more from the manufacturer. Yet I pre-ordered on 2/8.
So I have learned that if you want a game pre-ordered it about two weeks before it comes out.

It's in the last flyer- "interview DVD". It shows the MGS Saga disc, but no case. So yes, they are supposed to, but all stores I know of didn't get it in.

When I picked up my copy earlier today the Gamecrazy employee mentioned that they might be getting them in in the next day or two.

Okay. The store I got my LE from didn't get them in, but they said they were expecting them sometime... so here's hoping.
 
Incase this wasnt posted already.

All Gamestops and EB games only got 2 copies per store, some could have gotten more but most only got 2. I picked up mine this morning. Then I went to another Gamestop and waitied for the shipment to come in, I then bought another. Not for any of that Ebay bullshit either. Both copies are for me. One to play with and the other to keep sealed for my own Metal Gear Collection.

Anyone trying to look for one now might as well hit up Ebay. Sucks for you who didn't pre-order it, although you could have.... so I don't really feel bad for people.

the problem is many of us couldn't preorder. They removed it from the system with no warning.

I didn't check CAG for awhile, and then I came back and read "Well, today is the last day to preorder MGS 3 LE, its all gone". No warning, no nothing, just bam, all gone.

Luckily I busted my ass off to get a copy at 11 am.

Again, when you first heard of the LE. You could have went down to the local and put money down on it. No one can bullshit their way out of it. Seeing as everyone here is on the internet, you could have known when stores started taking orders.

Yea though, it sucks for people who really wanted it, I had an extra one at my work but some guy who has a huge MGS fan also wanted to so I let him have a copy.

you have to remember the LE isnt in the system in day one. It took a while before it is even in the system.
 
And the people that DID preorder, it doesn't even look like ALL of them will get it. Until about 30 minutes ago, I was one of them, so I can totally sympathize.

If I ever order from them again, it'll have to be one hell of a deal.

Yeah, the "first come, first serve" works in just about every other company. Why should GS be one of the pack? :roll:

If anyone pre-ordered it and they don't get it, I think some nasty BBB complaints should be levelled at them. As well as some direct bitching to management.

I'm considering myself very lucky they didn't fuck me with so many others.

I know that. When I first pre-ordered it I had it on the Regular. Then when I found out they are making a LE version I went in and changed it. It's a very simple process of getting in a automoblie, driving to the store, asking them to switch and boom. Done. I understand that people have to work or some just don't have time to bother looking for a game. I do feel bad for those people, just not the ones who knew about it a while ago. Most of them being Hardcore Metal Gear fans, which I am shocked that they didn't pre-order the LE version. Leave it to Kojima to make a REAL limited Edition game. I applaud him for doing that.

FYI if you ask them to change it over the phone 90% of the time they wont bother doing it.

I went through three orders with them:
1) MGS3: Subsistence before there was a LE, when we thought it was all $29.99 as a pricing mistake. Cancelled when order #2 put in.
2) MGS3: Subsistence LE for $39.99, before we found out there was a bonus Saga disc with it. Cancelled when order #3 put in.
3) MGS3: Subsistence LE for $39.99 w/bonus Saga DVD. This is the one that went through and shipped.

The two inquiries I made on the order cancellations were done via email, and they were done without any issues. I guess while everyone else was getting the village idiots @ GS.com, I was getting the only competent employees? :whistle2:s

I suppose so, though I really don't have an opinion about the GS.com website because I have never used it. I guess just like the B&M store, it's YMMV with a competent employee.
 
Gamestop screwed me over. God these people that is running this certain gamestop store is stupid. At first when I tried to pay my LE in full when pre-ordering it, they didn't even allow me to do so. They only let me put $5 down. I made the manager write LE on my receipt and theirs. Then I called again yesterday to let them know that I pre-ordered the LE version and I will come in tomorrow to pick it up. I gave them my name and everything. So earlier today when I went to pay for it, they said "we have the LE but we have a problem theres only 2 and I cant sell it to you even though you pre-ordered it". I was like WTF?? Even if they had two LE, I was the first to come pick up the LE and they still refuse to sell it to me. Only the standard edition. I told him "LE only if not then you're not gonna get any money from me." I thought this was first come first serve? This was my first time pre-ordering something from the B&M store and will be my last. I refuse to pre-order anymore games from them.

But today wasn't a total lost; I didn't wanna go home empty handed so I went next door to Wal Mart and bought God of War.
 
Pre-ordering early was pointless for me....I did it 10mins before Gamestop closed last night, where they told me LE's were first come first serve. I then spent most of today waiting for them to come in...and when they did the employee opened up the box and there were 4 LE's. I was pretty suprised when she took out 3 to hold for employee's, but at least I got the last one so I didnt complain too much...

Quite a bit more than I wanted to pay, but it was cheaper than almost all of the bidding wars going on and I figure I can turn around and sell it for more if I decide not to keep it for whatever reason. Yahoo.

Is the Saga DVD worth getting? I'm interested, but I really don't want to drop more than $20 or so on it....

Now to play through 1 (Twin Snakes) and 2 (Substance) already.... :roll:

I actually ended up liking the Saga disc more than the 3rd disc in the LE...

My store (Ebgames) had 9 preorders for the LE, yet we only got six copies. I got mine but didn't realize ebay prices would be this amazing. To think I was debating getting it when I walked in. Quickly changed my mind when I found out how few copies we had left.
