Metal Gear Solid 4 LE 9.99 1 Day only EBgames/Gamestop

grumpygrunt

CAGiversary!
I was downtown today and I decided to visit the one and only gamestop I know of in Canada and I was inquiring the price of MGS4 to see if I should buy it for my friend. The cashier informed me that the used copy was 34.99 and the new copy was 29.99. He then followed up by saying that tomorrow (Wednesday, July 8th) the game will be only 9.99. I forgot to ask if it's new or used but either way it's a steal and I'm fairly sure it's gonna be new because I don't think they would have overstock from used copies of the game since most gamers don't sell their best games :p

Enjoy
I will verify if it's true or not tommorow at 4:00 in the afternoon. Not sure what time zone I'm in but I'm from Toronto if that helps?

********IMPORATANT INFO**************
Edit: I did more digging and around on google and found out more about it from redflagdeals.
There seems to be a CLEARANCE DEAL like this happening almost every single day at ebgames.

.....Looks like I missed Prince of Persia a few days back :(

Lockes, it'll cost more than $15 after taxes and shipping... That's a bit of an unreasonably low price.

As I said before -- Any frequent/active CAGs in the GVA I will sell all the copies I acquired to at $20 for the time/shipping/gas I used to get them. You can even pick it up if you want. I don't want to make any unreasonable profit off them -- just give them to the people who were working or unable to get one.

PM me and see if I have any left.
I said Local Pickup only. I will go to you in toronto.
Ah, I put the wrong name to the wrong message. Sorry about that :whistle2:#
Also don't care if its been opened long as everything is in it.
It's a shame he lives in Vancouver

lol. A friend of mine called MY mom who lives in a smaller city about 30 minutes away to go pick up a copy of this for him. The best part is that she was in the area and actually did. I don't think my mom has ever stepped into an EB Games in her life.
Turtleman, is that 20 LE copies or just 20 regular copies?

I think the LE is what has everyone interested.
Ya it was the LE , cause my local eb had a pile(sry for the exaggeration) of like of the 11 atleast yesterday.

Except that I was never trying to deal with him.

My original post.
If anyone in toronto has a extra one lemme know I'll pay cost and come and grab it and whatnot. I missed out on it everywhere around me is sold out. :(

Then he told me my pricepoint of 15 is unreasonable then I replied I wanted only locally. I don't care if its a gut as long as nothing is missing.

The outer box makes it expensive to ship. If people are doing deals to mail this, the 2 dvd cases inside (which is everything but the box) could be mailed anywhere in Canada for 2.65 as long as they are flat, side by side. Mailing the box out of region could cost mroe then the game did with canada psot.

Can't you fit that game in one of those shipping sleeves? Goomba easily has fit 2 three sized games (they were trilogies) into one of those and I only paid like 6 bucks from the states.

from the states /= with canada Post

This game (in the box), since it would go small packet to the USA, would be cheaper to mail from Canada to Hawaii then it would between canada Post regions within Canada.

Canada Post has some of the highest parcel rates on earth.

Moving games in the mail only works because most of them are under 2 cm thick and qualify as letters (though CP wants to change that so they can charge more...)

Next July when ON merges with the GSt, it will increase rates within Canada another 8%, on top of CPs annual increases that have been in the 15% range for parcels the past few years.

Dude, as soon as I heard about the deal this morning I texted my bro because I was in class. He went right over to EB and got the last copy. The plastic around it was in rough shape and the box isn't perfect but still decent shape.
But damn...$10 That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I was really wanting this game but couldn't bring myself to pay $30, especially with no trophies :p
But now I can play it through and then sell it for $20 and make profit! Damn I love CAG!

Wow, are you serious? What the hell?

For those of you who got this game for $10, it's well worth it. I think it was one of the most overrated games ever but I'm not a big Metal Gear Solid fan so my opinion really doesn't hold any weight. Still, getting a game, a Blu-Ray and a CD for that price is a steal. For what it was, it was a fun game.

I wanted to buy a copy for my friend in the States but I think Ottawa EBs had none to begin with. No surprise there. Mailing it can be a real dog, though. You can fit it inside a $1.69 envelope at Canada Post but the shipping will reflect the size of the box.

Yeah shipping in Canada is ridiculous; it would be nice to ship items using a tracking number, but when the cost is over $10, why bother? Most things I am shipping are only worth $10-$20 anyways.

$25 visa giftcard if anyone can please ship this to me.

im in the U.S

edit. will only give you the # thru pm, wont ship actual card.

I have shipped a couple of copies of MGS LE through Canada Post and just put $2.75 worth of stamps on it and dropped it off in a drop box. All of them got delivered no problem. As long as you dont drop it off at a post office you should be able to ship out the game for $2.75. If they send it back to you saying you need more postage just remove the notice and send it right back out. I had to do that once and the over sized item went through the second time.

Can anyone help me out? I am new to the forum and literally just joined so I can get a copy of this game since none of the gamestops in my area (NJ - USA) have this deal.. If anyone is interested in selling me an extra copy I'd gladly pay $15 + shipping through paypal.

it's amazing how many copies Blockbuster has of MGS4 CE all of a sudden!
and yeah they are $39.99 used so yeah if you didn't get one at EB you've been screwed.

i guess i don't need mine. it sure is awesome looking on the shelf though.
if someone wants it let me know - it's new, EB "opened" it in store and put the round sticker on it.
i finished unwrapping it and cleaned the residue. so it's like new.
send me a decent 360 game or some paypal credit in your fave currency.

My friend Scott Laughinghouse would like a copy. He might be willing to negotiate. He lives in the U.S. so his greenbacks would get you what you want. I won't give you his e-mail but why not contact him via Facebook.

I was hoping to buy him a copy but again, all the Ottawa stores were bare in my area. My friend in Surrey snagged two copies, though.
Yea, Im only interested in the LE one, not the regular version of. Also can anyone tell me if Canadian games are the same as US games? Like is the PS3 boxes on Canada on 2 different languages or just english?(do they have the ESRB logo rating or no?) Its just that I'd love to get the LE version but if its like a canadian version of it, then Im not really interested. thanx guys.
The only difference is that you may get a second manual in French, or a single manual that's twice as thick and has the whole thing over again in French.

Also, either the back of the box will be in both languages, or there will be a paper cover under the plastic wrap with both languages. Occasionally the bilingual back cover is on the back of the French manual and that gets shrinkwrapped to the back.

That is the ONLY difference. ESRB ratings are still there, the game is the same, the manual is the same (though as I said it may have a French section, or you may get two), everything else is the same.
