Here is a thread just for us Michiganders to talk about the stores in our area that have good deals. Post any Mom & Pop Stores too so we can find the best deals. I need help gathering a list so I will update the OP from time to time. I will try to list all of the stores in Alphabetical order by City.

Anybody in the ann arbor/ypsi area should check out the Meijer on Ann Arbor Saline Rd.

They have a rack of PS2 games for $5, $7.50, $10, and $14.50 I got Nightmare of Druaga for $10, Dead to Rights 2 for $5 Shrek 2 for $10, SSX Tricky for $5, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 for 14.50 and a bunch more. Sorry that my memory escapes me, those were the only ones that caught my attention but there were at least 10-20 more titles with large red stickers marked 50% off.

ADDED:

Killzone, ps2 $10
SC:Chaos Theory, GC $10

nope, no cube games. There were 2-3 xbox games, though. Nothing really worth the trek to Ann Arbor unless you just happen to be there. I haven't seen this at any other meijer either, and I've hit them all from brighton to livonia to lansing.

Accross AA/Saline Rd. is a Target with NO clearance games at all, and a Media Play that's going out of business. They've taken off all the $ 8.99 stickers from the recent sale and everything is back to original price with 10% off signs everywhere. So, a game I bought 3 days ago for 8.99 was now 19.99 minus 10%, Yipee !

Did anybody bother checking any Costcos during the 360 flare up last week? I'm not a member and not obsessively interested, but there's a Costco about 5 minutes from where I work (the one across 75 from Great Lakes Crossing) and was thinking about having a friend who is a member check it out. I doubt there are any left if they even got any in the first place.

Costos in GR were sold out from what I was told..

The lansings Walmarts supposedly got their 2nd shipment this past weekend...

BB here I come if I can swing it and its not colder than a bitch out.

I picked up a bundle at the Costco on Telegraph and Square Lake Road on Friday. It was an hour drive, but it was hella worth it.
I picked up a bundle at the Costco on Telegraph and Square Lake Road on Friday. It was an hour drive, but it was hella worth it.
That's where I picked up my 360 on launch day. They received 96 bundles! It's the busiest Costco in Michigan -- it's their Michigan flagship store, so when they get more bundles, it'll be there first.

BTW, the Costco bundles are a deal. It's $470.

Premium pack - $400
Extra wireless controller - $50
Charge & Play kit - $20
Kameo - $50

TOTAL: $520

So you're saving $50 bucks with the Costco bundle. The controller, charge & play kit and Kameo are all packaged separately, so if you didn't want them, you could try to exchange them for something else at a different store (Target, Toys R Us, etc). But Kameo is an underrated game... I had a lot of fun with it, so I think everyone should keep it!
$50 for a controller? Wavebirds are only $30. What features does the 360 controller have that make it cost that extra $20?
Umm...

It works on a 360 and not a Gamecube? :D

But seriously... Yeah, it is a bit pricey. It's pure quality, though. When people say it might be the best controller they've ever used, they're not kidding.

One feature it has that the Wavebird doesn't is the auto-connect feature: It will automatically detect and connect to whatever channel is available. The Wavebird has the dial on the controller that has to match up with the sensor in the controller port in the Gamecube. Yeah, not a big deal, but it's nice.

It's definitely worth the extra $10 to get the wireless instead of the wired.

Comic City
43538 West Oaks Drive
Novi, MI 48377

If you come in Mon, Tues, or Wed and bring in a few non-perishable food stuffs (food drive thingy) you can get %30 off almost your entire purchase (gift cards, new comics, and on Wed. no new release stuff). We had this sale for subscribers (pull and hold comic people) yesterday and it was extended through Wed since some postcards went out late. Just mention that you got an e-mail, or if you see the guy with a spot (me) just say your from cag.
Does this apply to the Pontiac store too or only the one you're at?

And just to give the stores another plug, I've been in the Pontiac store a few times over the last eight months and I've never been so impressed with a comic store. The world (and MI for sure) needs more clean, organized nice looking comic stores like Comic City.

Granted the only other store I've been to in the last eight months is Time Travellers, and that place makes a dumpster full of crack whores in the Cass Corridor look good.

It should. Give them a call just to make sure. If anything, Calanders went to %35 off, Action figures to %25 off, Mage Knight to %25 off, and Statues to %20 off. Revenge of the Sith mini's booster are mark down again to 9.99.

So this is probably a lost cause... but I recently decided to try and pick up and Xbox 360, thought I had one through gamestop.com but it got cancelled. Has anyone in the southeastern Michigan area seen any on store shelves or know of any place (other than Best Buy) that's expecting a shipment soon? Any help would be really appreciated!

Anyone here work at Meijers? I would like a lookup of an item and need to know what you need.

The meijer I visited yesterday had Piranha E Foprce Paintball Gun combos kits at $109 from $179 clearanced but they were all sold out....

Everyone should check around. The eforce is a pretty good gun.... Some websites prefer it over the Cocker etc.

Here's a question I haven't seen anyone ask: Is there actually going to be any 360 stock in January? Everyone is kind of assuming you will be able to get one post-christmas. But I have seen nothing anywhere that indicates M$ has fixed their supply issues. So for any workers out there, any news on January shipments at stores?

Meijer on Tittabawasee in Saginaw has a decent selection of clearance games right now. I picked up Riddick, Kingdom Under Fire, Project Snowblind and Punisher all for $10 each. I was going to get Unreal Championship 2 as well but the only copy they had was all cut up with a knife.

I'm still looking for a 360 around the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area if anyone has any leads. Now that school has started up, I really don't have time to drive an hour away to Southfield or Jackson to land one and I haven't been able to track anything down locally.
Granted the only other store I've been to in the last eight months is Time Travellers, and that place makes a dumpster full of crack whores in the Cass Corridor look good.
Does it still have the ratty-ass porno mag section in the corner?

Ugh. I haven't been to Time Travelers in about 5 years. Sucks that Classic Movie & Comic Center in Livonia went down instead of TT. They were nice guys.

360's are still rare, my friend.. I haven't seen on a store shelf.. ever..

Anybody got any brilliant ideas as to where I could go about finding a broken PS2 unit somewhere in or around Grand Rapids? I've got one my neighbor gave me with a bad power supply, and bearing that I've never owned one of these before, I want to get it working again. Any ideas would be great.

That's insane for some of you whom can't find a 360, seems for me that every time I walk into a game store that I just buy another system anytime... its renting games that I'm having trouble with now :(

anyone got any gaming deals here in southeastern Michigan? (more like between canton, Livonia, dearborn, and Taylor lol)

Wait. They actually have electricity in Taylor? I thought they were just joking about that. ;)

I have no clue. It was digustingly filthy, I went in there to buy a comic Diamond didn't ship to my then store. I went in, found the comic, quickly walked through as my allegeries and asthma flared up, paid and left.

I miss CM&CC too. I was hoping that Dennis (am I mixing my names up?) would have been able to take over, but some other guy bought the inventory close to last minute.

I'm getting pretty tired of the 360 "shortage," and I'm quickly losing interest in the console. It's been weeks since XMas and I still have never seen one at a store in my area (Lake Orion/Rochester/Troy-ish). I'm probably just going to forget about it and wait for something else.

I can tell you that I work at Best Buy in Midland, Michigan and I work in the Media department, I would say that we get probably 10-15 calls a day asking if we got any 360's in stock. Some people want core's and most want premiums but even after getting weekly shipments in, there is still a definate shortage and the demand is still there. People want them for birthdays, use their gift cards, you name it. So yeah, just a bit of a heads up. We finally did get quite a few play and charge kits and wireless controllers in stock though.

We've got so many conflicting reports about that from our customers...and even people that worked with the company.
As far as i know, the main guy was in very bad health, handed the store over, the second guy had some personal troubles, sold %90 of the inventory to some guy from Marquette with the intention of opening up a few months later. No re-opening yet.

Personally I think we should open a store up there. It wouldnt have the back issues that CM&C had, but were pretty damn good with the new stuff.
Wait. They actually have electricity in Taylor? I thought they were just joking about that. ;)
don't you mean "heritage hills" (what they were trying to rename taylor in the past few years), but taylortucky doesn't have residental power, just commerical! ;)

That's what I was saying, I just didn't want to get too specific. I know as close as 10 days before they closed Dennis and I were talking and he said he was hoping to open up shop down the street (closer to that high school towards Grand River I believe) and I offered to help with a website or email newsletter or something like that for free.

I do know that in the last week there I bought stuff with a credit card, and the charge showed up as being from a sporting good-type store in a not real close city. I'm guessing that was a business owned by Marquette guy.

Man all this talk about CM&C brings back some good memories. I used to be in that store about once a week. So you guys are saying they might re-open? Nigel's store is a good half hour away from me and I still haven't been able to make it out there yet, and I do miss my good friend peter parker.

They have Xbox 360 systems (not core) and Super Smash Bro's GC bundles at the old Meijers on Westnedge Ave in Kalamazoo as of 1/19/06 1:00 AM.

Target located at Fairlane Meadows in Dearborn at Ford Rd and Greenfield has:

Five Xbox 360 Premium Systems as of 11:00 a.m. 1/20/06

2 core 360s in stock at the Auburn Hills Target on Brown rd (across from 75 from Great Lakes Crossing). The honeymoon with the core systems seems to be over. No, I didn't buy one.

Well, know that I think about it when I went to Target at Northland Mall again today they were sold out of Cores and had 2 Premiums in the display.

I have one and am in Lansing a lot. Its sealed just picked it up at Target in Lansign two days ago for any CAG.

pm me and we can meet up its at my cost no profit.

Shit, I forgot to post this when I got home today. There was a premium system at the Eastland mall Target today at around 4:00. Doubt it's still there, but you never know until you ask. It's the Target behind the mall accross the street from Meijer off Eureka Rd.

If anyone cares, there is 1 core 360 left at Meijer at Van Dyke & 26 Mile. Normally this wouldn't matter, but with the 15% coupon that's only good for today and the 2 for 1 game sale, I was able to get CoD2, DOA4, and a Core system for $351 - tax included.

As of 4pm 2/4/06, the Sears at the Summit Place Mall in Waterford had 2 premium XBOX 360 systems. The game section is on the second floor and the systems are in their lock-up case. Good luck to anyone heading there for a system.

It was about 5 hours ago but for any of you Ann Arborites out there....

The Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. Target had 4 premuim 360 bundles as of about 9:00 this morning.

Thanks for the heads-up. Too bad they will probably be gone by the time I get out of work at 5:00. I am having terrible luck trying to track one down because they are always sold out by the time I get out of work.
