Here is a thread just for us Michiganders to talk about the stores in our area that have good deals. Post any Mom & Pop Stores too so we can find the best deals. I need help gathering a list so I will update the OP from time to time. I will try to list all of the stores in Alphabetical order by City.

I was actually just down in Saginaw today... I usually just make runs if they got a game at one of those stores they don't have in Bay City or Midland. There is an employee that may be getting a little bit of a talking to/fired by his DM after a stunt he tried to pull on me at the Fashion Square Mall store earlier tonight. Let's just say he fucked up beyond all belief and tried to essentially steal from a customer and the company.

Word? All the guys there are super nerdy. Never thought they would be the scamming type. Except for that asshole manager. The dark skinned dude?

Yep that was him... I swear I have been in there a few times and he has always been a dick. Then the other kid that was working there is probably the biggest thug wanna be ever. He was wearing a hoodie with a black flat bill hat cranked to the side and the hood on over that. I am probably going to call GameStop corporate again tomorrow, because really the more and more I think about the whole incident the more pissed off I get.

After he had said $10 for the pennied out guide I thought about having him ring it up and seeing what he did as I was gonna pay with store credit.

On another note, the guys at the Saginaw Square Gamestop are pretty cool. Everytime I have gone in there they have been really friendly and knowledgeable on games themselves.

That sucks. Havent been in there in a couple months so obviously things have changed a bit. They must have hired thug wannabe for seasonal help. That manager has ALWAYS been a dick, make sure you mention other people have had similar experiences with him.

Saginaw square store be hoggin the preorders, although I agree they are much cooler. Especially the short dude.

Just in an attempt to keep this as some general Michigan discussion, did any of you guys read Mitch Alboms feature in the Freep a few weeks back? Sports Illustrated carried a 5 page excerpt in one of their recent issues. Great article and definitely worth checking out if you guys have not already. Its a shame they are going to 3 day delivery

I just caught the SI excerpt and my professor actually had the class read it and write a response essay about it. Great story from a great writer.

What was it about?

I was jsut at the micro center down by oakland mall in troy and they have Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword for the PC on sale for 2 bucks, its not the best game but for 2 bucks it worth a shot.
What was it about?
The Spirit of Detroit. Anyone who lives, works or has any vested interest in/near Detroit it is a must read.

Also If anyone spots a copy of Civilization Revolution for PS3 I would like a copy

It is a great article, and although it is based in Detroit, it is relative to everyone in the state.

Also, Kennistond, I will keep an eye out. How much are you looking to spend?

Alright I'll keep an eye out. I know I just picked up a 120gb from GS for 74.fx after discounts a few weeks ago. I frequent the MBS GSs and will keep an eye out. If I find one at home in GR this weekend I will let you know so check it occassionally and I could pick it up for you at cost.

The Best Buy on telegraph in Southfield has several games 50% off. I picked up Pure and Quantum of Solice w/tshirt for $30 and $25 each.

I went in to the Game On in Saginaw on Friday and the guys there were really cool.

While they have a ton of old NES, SNES, SEGA, and other games, they have a great selection of current gen, last gen and movies.

Their Blu-ray selection was fantastic. I actually picked up Sunshine from there for only $14.

Glad to hear. They had a coupon for any blu-ray for $9.99 :(

Oh really?

Well, I had no problem giving those guys an extra $5 to stay afloat, even as a CAG. :D

That game on place must be new. i dont live in saginaw anymore but i want to check it out. the only older game place i remember was off of macinaw and tittabawassi. that guy that runs it is a douche and charges way too much for games.
how are the prices in the other place?

That guy on titty next to Subway and Maytag store is a rip-off but knows his shit and will fix any broken console you have. P,us old dude has every system new in box including obscure ones. Ive seen a /jaguar NIB, Virtual Boy NIB and couple others

But yes, GameOn is brand spanking new. Check it out

Incorrect, the one on 2500 E. Beltline is NOT in front of an IMAX, but just a regular celebration theater.

The guy who runs the Grandville one was super-nice last time I was in there. Gave me a little mini-tour of the store, chatted with me for a while. Other employees cool as well.
Their price on a 360 package was good as well. A refurb, but they warrant their work.

Hello everyone I am new to this AWESOME web site. I live in the holly area does anyone know where I could possibly find a game crazy coupon. I have been saving all of my used games to buy a turtle beach headset. Before I ask for the okay from the wifey I was hoping to get a little extra savings. the only reason I ask about game crazy its the only place by me that sells the turtle beach.

Yeah it sucks. Apparently Michiganders dont wanna share their deals....

I tried doing my part, but it didn't really catch on.

I haven't been finding any. When I hear of deals hitting stores in other states I go to the usual suspects (WalMart, Target, TRU) and usually I find nothing or the game is more here in Michigan.

I'll try and make a concerted effort to post. Since reading this forum, I've been hunting down some of the Blockbuster / FYE / Sears deals with somewhat decent results. I'm in the Detroit area, btb.

WEZ

Locally, I haven't found anything that great. Everything I've found has been from national deals.

Are there any good Best Buy / Target / etc. clearance places in Michigan (preferably Detroit area)? Sometimes you read of places that do insane clearance deals, like 80%.

I will too. ALthough I dont do much clearance hunting beyond Target anymore.

It seems like most of the Targets in Macomb county have stopped clearancing out games as quick. Even ones not behind the glass have still been full price

It seems that most of the Targets in SE Michigan have the PS3 Endwar Bundled with Official PS Mic for like $22 now. Definitely worth a pickup

For all the Metro Detroiters, MGM Grand is offering 50% off meals @ three of their casual restaurants Palette, Ignite and Breeze. At least 1 of them is a buffet but a great deal still. Im going down there tomorrow and plan to stop in one of the three and eat

Good catch on the MGM restaurants... I wonder how the casinos are doing... given the economy.

i know the lansing target in okemos has endwar but I had him scan it and it came up at like $60 I said I changed my mind and walked out... too bad to.

A) Stay out of my territory. ;)

B) Greektown is bankrupt, not sure about the other ones. Here's an article about one guy looking to buy Greektown from the other day

Yeah it seems like just SE Michigan. I would be willing to see if I could pick one up & mail it out if you cover costs and return the favor if ever needed. Im not sure though b/c shipping on the big box might kill the deal.

Yeah hopefully he gets it. The guy loves Detroit and is a supporter. Problem is its his 3rd? attempt to buy it after first 2 were unsuccessful. Hes got a shot though if he accumulates enough of their debt.

Edit- Wrong guy, shoudla read the article first

Anyways never made it to MGM. Its hard to pass up Slows BBQ:drool::drool:

Any Michigan 7-11s break the street date on Beatles Rock Band? I checked a few today but came up empty handed.

smiggity I picked up a used copy and a separate headset later. Thanks for the offer though.

bornrunnin31.. isn't there some seniority system in place, like a union? !!

your pissing all over my territory and now claiming its yours!

DrianG I will keep my eye out.

Did anybody near saginaw see if TRU was doing the xbla card deal? edit: nm I went and they said the only deal they had was for labor day

Nope.

Here's a deal though, but not sure if anyone cares. The local Meijer had all of their UMD movies priced at $5.99 Not a huge deal, but might be able to find something for yourself.

GameStop as a corporation usually drops their stock of UMD movies to $4.99 every holiday, but if anyone is in a big rush to grab some right now, I don't think a dollar will kill you.
Has anyone been to a MI Wal*Mart that takes trades ?
Believe there are a few in metro detroit that have the kiosks...
Well Best Buy, Tru and target had one, how did you miss those?

Targets was wii only, but the other two were full blown.
I didn't miss them, but Meijer is usually late in the year so all of the good games will be out. The TRU sale and BB sales were ok, but at last year's Meijer B2G1 I was able to get Fallout 3, L4D and other titles released late.

Not complaining about the BB sale - there was Uncharted 2 and the new Ratchet game out. Good times.
