Microsoft and Mountain Dew To Give Away An XBOX 360 Every 10 Minutes!!! Starts 8.28.5

Thanks for the link. I've got a friend that drinks that crap constantly. Thankfully he's not a gamer so his lids are all mine!!!
So much money will be lost by Microsoft:booty:
You don't really think that, do you?

You realize that every major company out there has people whose entire occupation is to devise promotions like this, while also making sure it leaves the company in the positive? You don't think that Mountain Dew/Pepsi is paying an ungodly amount to allocate their product directly into the promotion? You don't think that, as someone else noted, the amount of hype and press generated even by something on this relatively small scale will far outweigh the cost of a few thousand 360's?

Yes ledhed I understand... kind of.

Geez, that's a lot of systems... I know I won't win even with those odds as some people do nothing but drink soda.

Oh well, can't hurt to try, right?:)

does the time slot that u submit your codes have to be within a certain range of the current time? For example, can u submit a code for the 3 am time slot at 4 pm? I hope they dont allow for this kind of flexability so that people like me can submit there codes at 4 in the morning when normal people arent up. but then again my 4 in the morning is someone elses 8 in the morning. hmmm.....

It's a trap! Pepsi and MS want you to get man-periods(aka man-struation)

I'll have to hit up all my fellow co-workers (rednecks who drink nothing but Moutain Dew) for their caps. Most of them would not care.

Have to wonder how many winners would be from the southern states. :)

Im too lazy to read the promotions page, but is this only in the US, cuz if it isnt, my chances just went straight to zero. Otherwise would put all my caps into 3:10AM or seomthing...

anyone seeing lids yet? i'm getting ready to start hoarding them from the people at work. Nectar of the tards shall be good to me!

Sooo...if I enter 200 codes, at 5:55 am, on a thursday, five weeks into the promotion...How good of a chance do I have?

I havent seen any mountain dew caps yet advertising for it....Damn

Winning or living to see your reward? 200 Mt. Dews = :fridge:

I was thinking about going around to peoples recycling bins in the morning, and maybe asking my family for donations...top that off with 10 bottlecaps for everyweek of the tournament, I might just make that mark
Geeeeee, I wonder...
lol...give away 299 every 10 minutes for a couple weeks...or give away 399 every 10 minutes for a couple weeks...im guessing the later since microsoft is generous like that

9,000 systems actually isn't that many when you consider all the people that drink soda in America.

Any chance the codes will be on Diet Caffiene Free Mountian Dew? I don't mind drinking disgusting soda, but I'd like to not become a diabetic in the processes.

That's true...lots of poeple drink pop ... but you gotta consider the fact that its one system every 10 minutes...and you might get lucky at 3:20 in the morning when miraculously its your 100 caps you've been saving up against 10 others.

This is from the official rules. Also states that the 360s would arrive the Saturaday before it hits
retail unless something happens yada yada yada.

For those of you like myself who hate Mt. Dew, there is hope. From the official rules:

"Look for a Code printed underneath specially-marked "Every10Minutes" bottle caps of 20 oz. and 1-liter products of Pepsi-Cola Company, while supplies last."...

..."Participating brands may include, Mountain Dew, Diet Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mountain Dew Live Wire, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Caffeine Free Pepsi, Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi, Wild Cherry Pepsi, Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi, Sierra Mist and Sierra Mist Free. "

Some where in there it states that the actual sodas (pepsi, dew, etc.) may or may not have the caps depending on region. So just keep an eye out for any of them.

oh wow...so if u sell your xbox360 on ebay as soon as you win it for free from this, you could net a huge profit from people wanting to own one early

Oh good, my parents suck down Pepsi like it's the Water of Life. I'll be sure to buy them insane amounts, and tell them I need the caps for a school project or something.
Yep caps are everywhere in northern KY, and i've starting bumming caps at work as of yesterday. :)
Have not seen any yet here in SC. Do have to pick up some drinks today for the wife. Might have to switch her coke for pepsi. ;)

Bumping this up cause it's starting soon.

I just picked up a Diet Pepsi today with a code. I hope I win!
Since I'm already hooked on Pepsi and Mountain Dew, I think I might win a few of these.
unless you drink 3 24 packs a day, its going to be hard to win.......

Where'd that statistic come from...your ass?
You can get a free starter code by downloaing an Xbox 360 skin for Yahoo! Messanger.

Just visit every10minutes.com
cool i'll check it out! Just get the skin, the code and change my skin back.....

I've got 34 codes right now, bought exactly 4 bottles myself. All the rest have come from my coworkers who are saving them for me. :D Even if i dont win i'll still get some promotional crap with my points. Oh yea i've got 4 caps b1g1f that people gave me from the last promotion so i'll go ahead and buy 4 pops and get 4 free. If i still drank pop i'd have aboutthree times as many codes but luckily i only drink water or juice most all the time now.

The big winner in all this is Pepsi. Because without true bacward compatability Microsoft not only has lost to Sony and Nintendo, but they are going to have to give their systems away like this for anyont to want one. Its too expensive and not all gamers play Halo.

Okay fanboy, you had your word, now get back to gamefaqs, okay?

This is awesome I told my parents about it, and they said they would pick up any cap from an employee if they wish to part with it.

Weird, been to multiple stores in the area and haven't been able to find any Mountain Dew or other Pepsi products with codes on them. Is the actual bottle supposed to have an advertisement for the contest on the label?

That basically states that the HDD will have an Xbox emulator on it. So probably all games will work on the 360. But some will work better than others (High profile games). But it also states that AAA games coming out after the backwards compatibility decision will be fully compatible on the basic console without the HDD as well. So, if you have an HDD, you are probably set. If not, you are stupid for buying a stripped down 360 anyways, so it doesn't matter. So while I agree that the 360 - and PS3 are - too expensive for me to bother with and neither has me itching to play them (and I hate Halo), you definitely need to keep up with the news. You look less retarded that way.

I figure if you get your code in within the first couple of rounds you'll have a decent chance, not many people could have these, and it surely hasnt hit the mainstream yet. Stupid site isnt updating though...

Exactly my philosophy. Good luck. May the best idiot-staying-up-all-night-trying-to-win-a-flippin'-overpriced-video-game-console win.
