Minder Deals Gone Bad - Now in police custody - Victims please contact the police!
I'm on it right now (thanks for the PM mannysgoldglove). Hopefully kzoghbi and BigHow are getting in on this too so Glendale PD will haul ass with the case since there are 5 of us. I had mild expectations that he would wisen up and I'd find something in the mail today but so much for that.

Just out of curiosity, was the description you guys gave extra detailed? I'm not leaving anything out, I have all of my PMs saved including emails, times, dates when he "claimed" to have sent the iPod both times, all that good ish, etc.
This is what I wrote:

Paid for a 30 gig and 80 gig color Ipod on April 22, 2007. Christopher Minder stated the item would be shipped next day (Monday, April 23, 2007) via USPS Priority Mail with insurance. Contacted Christopher Minder on Thursday, April 26, 2007 to get the USPS insurance number and inquire if the item had been shipped. Christopher Minder stated that he had problems with work and shipped it that day (Thursday, April 26, 2007). Contacted the Christopher Minder on Monday, May 1, 2007 to inquire if the Ipods were shipped on Thursday. Christopher Minder stated that he had real life problems and had to move out of his apartment and that he was about to leave for the post office to ship the items. I have contacted the Christopher Minder twice since then without any reply from him. Paypal transaction #3----------------L

I have met the seller, Christopher Minder (screen name - Minder) on an online gaming community (www.cheapassgamer.com) where we both agreed on my purchase of his 8GB Apple iPod nano (Black). CheapAssGamer has a feedback system similar to eBay where members will leave either positive or negative feedback upon completion of a transaction. At the time of my purchase, Mr. Minder had accumulated a good amount of positive feedback which is the reason I had gone through with the purchase. I have already had one successful purchase of an iPod shuffle from the seller for the price of $40 which I have received on April 20, 2007 (payment was sent to him on April 14 via PayPal - ID #XXXX). I believe Mr. Minder made sure his first few transactions have been positive to gain the trust of the rest of the community while planning to scam any late buyers. As of this moment, I know of 4 other members of the website that are in the same position as myself.

I have sent payment to Mr. Minder for the iPod nano in the form of eCheck via PayPal on April 16, 2007 (ID #XXXX). The eCheck has cleared a few days later on April 20, 2007 and that same day I have received an email from Mr. Minder stating he would be shipping my product that very day. According to him, I would have received it by Monday (April 23). I have waited one week for it to arrive and sent him a message via CheapAssGamer's private messaging feature inquiring about the status of my shipment. He replied on May 1, 2007 stating that he had been having personal problems and would ship out my iPod that same day at 12:00 PST.

Since then, he has cancelled both of his email accounts (his personal as well as the email account associated with his PayPal account) and will not respond to private messages via the website. According to a message on CheapAssGamer, Mr. Minder is planning to move to Great Lakes, Illinois this month. It is my belief that he has intentionally sold multiple iPods earlier in the month of April so that he would be viewed as a credible seller, while planning to scam late buyers moments before he relocates to Illinois.

As a last resort, I was able to obtain his home phone number via the Internet. After calling Mr. Minder on Monday (May 7) at approximately 2:00 PM PST, he stated that he had sent the package last Thursday (May 3, 2007) and that it is my fault for not requesting a delivery confirmation number or insurance (I have a message from him that I received on 5/1/2007 specifically stating he will pay for the insurance and delivery confirmation number himself). After advising him of my intent to report him to the authorities, he stated he did not care. I have not received anything as of yet nor do I believe he has ever sent the iPod. Again, I believe the seller is trying to buy time so he may relocate out of the state. I have saved all emails, private messages, and other documentation that I will be able to supply to any authorities involved with this case.

I have also included below a link to the thread on CheapAssGamer that gives the accounts of other individuals that have been scammed by this seller.

Please do not hesitate to contact me the moment this situation is resolved or if further action is required. Thank you.
I tried to give as much information as possible.

I'm surprised that fucker won't just send us our shit. It isn't like he is losing out on money, does he really want all this shit to pile up on his record? It will haunt him for life. Or is it the fact he never had all of the iPods in the first place?

He never had all the iPods int he first place.
He never had all the iPods int he first place.
I think this is the case. Thought he could make a few bucks before he "went away" according to a few posts ago about a comment left on his MySpace page. I assume that means in some type of army or something.

I submitted my own complaint with IC3, after getting the same advice from the Glendale PD. Hopefully something comes of this.

Good Luck to you guys all. I was on the fence about buying an iPod or 2 from this dude from his last set of "iPod's". I'm glad now that I choose not to. Good Luck Again.

My wife call me yesterday and she told me that I receive a package with the IPOD, it took almost three weeks, I am travelling now but I will be at home tonight and I will check the IPOD that I receive and I will post an update here.

I wonder when it was postmarked? maybe it was the PO..

I bought one of these on April 16th (pink nano 2G). I did receive it, although he shipped it a couple of days later than promised.

I know that this item was marked on his trading thread as going to someone else. I bet he did send out the iPods that he had, but let more than one person pay for the same item.

Yes, I can confirm that I received a brand new IPOD. It came in a Priority Mail Box. I can not see when was postmarked as only has a priority mail stamp and it does not show the postmarked date.
May 10, 2007 and no package. Cool for anybody else who received their iPods, sucks for me.
Same here. I hope they still show up because sometimes my mail is alittle slower. Usually not this much slower though

Mail never takes this long, I was hoping he got smart and just sent the stuff. I called my bank to report the non-receipt of goods. They are investigating it.
Mail never takes this long, I was hoping he got smart and just sent the stuff. I called my bank to report the non-receipt of goods. They are investigating it.
The worst it should take to get anywhere in the US is 14 days, and at that point, the USPS considers it lost.

Priority mail takes 2-3 days. Parcel post takes 4-10 days. Media mail takes 2-9 days.

Unless he shipped at the beginning of the month, there's no way they wouldn't be showing up now unless they were lost. My guess is that he's trying to save his ass by shipping them now. If it was shipped from a post office, it'll be stamped with the day it was shipped, and if it was shipped with Paypal or USPS.com postage, it'll have a date shipped on the printed postage label. UPS, FedEx & DHL, same thing, it'll have a date the label was printed.

Though, not using a DC # is a rank amateur move. Dumbass should know better.

Much to my surprise, I received my black iPod nano today in the mail. It came via Priority which takes 2 to 3 days so I'm guessing he mailed it right after I gave him a call this past Tuesday. As shrike4242 ascertained, he probably got nervous and didn't think people would be on his case and go to the extent of getting the police involved (why anyone would think that is beyond me). That is why I am still pissed off. I don't think he would have sent anything if I didn't take any initiative.

I'm not going to go any further with the authorities though. Since he's young and only 21 (albeit only a few years younger than myself), I'm just going to write this off as a kid doing something stupid and not knowing what he was getting himself into. Lord knows I've done stupid things in my younger years (though I've never done the asinine thing of scamming another human being).

I want to give thanks to all the CAGs who gave extremely helpful advice as well as their support. It almost cost me $175 to learn never to let greed cloud my judgment. I would expect that everyone else should be receiving their merchandise soon (if not already).

Good to hear that you received your iPod, Kendro. That's one less CAG on the "I've been fucked over" list. Hopefully, the rest will show up, so we'll have this mess resolved. I hate to think that sabre-rattling to someone that you'll get the cops involved gets the problem fixed, though it makes me wonder what else would have happened without doing such.

What still is curious is where all the iPods are coming from. :whistle2:s Any idea on the package of the iPod to make you think where they ended up from, Kendro?

Well I bought a shuffle and nano from him and the only thing that really stands out is the fact that both cases are heavily scratched. When I opened them up, I never got the impression they were refurbished units so as far as I can tell, they are legitimate brand new iPods. The nano has a generic UPC sticker with a $249.00 tag so I can't tell what store it came from.
I'm still going with stolen. Cases were beat to hell since he had to smuggle them out in his ass cheeks. :D All of you will be going to jail for receiving stolen property. Get ready for Bubba. :D JK
Sorry pimpinc333, I took a few whiffs from each case and no sign of ass smells anywhere. :D

Interesting if they're brand new. They must be obtained from some retail outfit illegally, through himself or a friend.
If this is true, perhaps he stopped sending out Ipods since he was getting scared out stealing them. If this hypothesis is true, he stole a ton of Ipods. I'd be afraid at getting caught at that point in his position.

It was "I'm fucked if I do, I'm fucked if I don't" kinda deal. Where if he didn't steal them, he'd still have all the people filing mail fraud on him and have the local police on his ass for stealing all this money. But if he got caught, he at least tried to get people those stolen ipods. For the people that bought him, don't be surprised to receive a call about receiving stolen property.

Just called Minder (figured I would wake him up hopefully after a long Friday night), young kid answered the phone and asked me who I was, I said "Glenn, from CAG." Sounded like he was going upstairs, but I heard him say "Chris is going to be pissed." I heard him knock on a door and tell him "Chris, it's Glenn from CAG on the phone." I could hear Minder grumbling in the back ground. He answered and said "Yeah." I said "Chris, this is Glenn from CAG, when are you going to send my iPods!" He hung up.

My next call will be to speak with his mother and explain how much trouble her son could be in considering 3+ called the police, filed a report with the IC3 and contacted their CC/Paypal/Bank.

I am still hoping I will find a package at my door soon. Did anyone who received their package have to sign for it?

No mine came in a small Prioriy box and was delivered straight to my mailbox. How the fuck does the kid know about it? I swear it is like their whole family is in on this shit.

I guess so.... This is starting to piss me off. Still dont have anything yet. Lets see if they come tomorrow, doubt it. I wonder if the Glendale PD has even done anything yet

Probably because he wasn't the first one to call... and he knew of his reactions previously...

Just called again and left a message on the family answering machine. He definitely lives at home. I will continue to call until something is done about this fuck.
Anyone know how Paypal handles disputes when the seller's account has been closed?
Without much luck, from what I've seen from previous people posting about it.

You're screwed unless you used a credit card to pay.

I used to be his "friend". Doris isn't his mother, it's his grandmother. His excuse of "work issues" isn't true, he doesn't work because he is shipping out. He won't be shipping out probably though...I just filed a report on him for sexual assault. Don't worry, I'll bring this issue up to them also. I wish the best for the few of you that still haven't gotten your merchandise. He's a skeezy coward. Oh and, when I was in his room one time I saw a box of iPods and a box of addressed ones to mail out. I know that they are stolen goods also. His cousin broke into the store.

And the plot thickens again. I am glad I bought a Ipod Nano from FYE today for $49.99 AR. My daughter wants one for her bday and I have been searching. I am could have easily fell for his guy's chit. Good luck!! I will continue reading this thread.

And the moral of the story is: if it's too good to be true, it probably is. :whistle2:( We've all fallen for some type of scam or other. Sorry guys.
Great, I knew it was too good to be true.. Now I won't be able to stop thinking about how I'm listening to a stolen ipod
Sorry :( Just think of the great listening sound! I'm just trying to inform you guys of everything I know about it and him.

How exactly did you find out about his dealings on CAG? Seems a bit wierd to all of a sudden get a newbie come in and give all these reasons out of the blue.
I'm just a cynical suspicious pessimist by nature and it smells a bit fishy ;P

Well, my ex-boyfriend was trying to find all his information on him (Minder) so I could have it all to give the detectives. While finding his address etc., by searching his last name, he found this site and gave me the link. I wonder if there is an investigation already going on about him, since over 3 of you submitted it to that one claim site. I'll ask tomorrow.
I smell BS about our new "friend" who's providing all this info. :whistle2:s
Haha, then you guys deserve to be scammed. I'm out, bye! Tough luck guys, see if I ever bring this shit up to them now.

The "friend" PMed me about deleting her "story" in my post. She said it could ruin her case. Mods, I will let it up to you.
Minder came on here and read this thread. My case lost some evidence now, even though I have the pictures still. He probably deleted all the evidence now. They had me call him and he's being all coy like, "I never had sex with you what the hell"

Preserved for archival purposes.
Oh, the reason I smell BS on this new "friend" is that it's very much like the situation with TMACDaddy, where a "friend"/"relative" of his came onto the site and was promising all kinds of things in trying to resolve the situation. When pressured about providing details, they had the same attitude and had the same response. "fuck you all."
The "friend" PMed me about deleting her "story" in my post. She said it could ruin her case. Mods, I will let it up to you.
Up to you to delete it.
