Mitsuharu Misawa memorial wrestling topic (1962-2009)

A "three stages of hell" match always sounds entertaining. By rushing through the first two stages, they've murdered the concept. Sigh.

This whole "Orton can't finish a match clean" thing is getting really, really old. It feels no different than an episode of Raw.

lol it reminded me of the old Batman TV show

- WWE will be taping two episodes of RAW in San Jose on June 29th due to tours of Australia and Japan. They also will be taping one SmackDown and one ECW in Fresno, CA on June 30th and one SmackDown with one ECW on July 1st in Bakersfield, CA.

Hmmmm, interesting. I wonder how thats gonna work out. I was planning on having someone dropping me off but if they're doing two shows, guess I'll just drive there. Thanks for the info harry.
Well, another lackluster ppv. Cant wait to go to Raw tomorrow!
From reading the past two pages, it seems like it was pretty good

But I guess you spent your hard earned money on the PPV...right?

When you 2 main championship matches end in a DQ/help with interference, I'd consider that to be pretty bad wouldn't you? The only highlights of the night was the great Rey/Jericho match and the surprise tag team of Edge and Jericho.

And spare me with that buying ppv bs, you dont think the other guys on here watched it over streams either?

Another boring PPV. I feel bad for my friend who keeps on buying these:D

Only good match was the Jericho one. Orton/HHH wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. HHH beating up Orton to close the show was completely dumb, but then again it's HHH. Crowd was dead almost the entire time.

Punk/Hardy was pretty boring too and the ending just dragged on and was awkward.

WWE is so stale right now. The PPV matches aren't any better than the TV ones. They don't even try anymore. It used to be that the PPVs had good matches and stuff but now it's just another lame show.

You're just being cynical. Even in the past, the WWE never had matches that were super high quality all the way through. Rey/Jericho was about as good as anything they've done in whatever time you remember the company being good.

No, the PPV just sucked. There was one good match, that happened about 20 minutes into the show. The Jericho match was great as usual. The rest of the show was boring. I know that the PPVs never have matches that are each 5 star material. I just expect the main events to be entertaining. HHH/Orton is played out. CM Punk really doesn't do anything that interesting. The wrestling matches on the PPVs are barely above stuff you would see on Smackdown.

Sorry, then. You're just not a professional wrestling fan.

Would've been better without 2 bullshit world title match finishes, the matches themselves were fine up until then.

I concur. I am of a mind that thinks main events, specifically ones involving a championship, should always have a winner and loser, and never end in a disqualification or with interference (or in a Dusty finish, for that matter), as I feel it's a disservice to loyal fans whom buy the PPVs. On free shows, though, it's fine.

Nope I'm a sports entertainment fan :)

I promise WWE can't please its internet fan base....

Every PPV has some type of flaw to it. I really do wonder what would happen if they allowed "the typical internet fan" to collectively book a PPV.

It would probably be swerve after swerve followed by matches where ROH/japanese wrestlers just happened to be booked into them and ending with almost every known face to lose.

And Cena wouldn't even be booked. At all.

...And even then there would be complaints!

No that's where you're wrong strong...
Cena would be booked in the Opening Dark match and would lose to Festus!

That'd be tough as long as they believe their current product is worth watching.

All caught up on THE BASH now, and I really love the vibe they've got with Punk/Hardy at the moment. What's great is that they have two faces who don't see eye to eye, and it's not just because of the tired "miscommunication in a tag-team match" angle.

And Jeff HATES Punk, while Punk is just kinda being a smirking dick about everything, which is another thing that makes this feud feel a bit different. So far it seems like Jeff is cast as the face here, but lately they risk him coming off like more of a whiny bitch - although, if that's intentional and they're actually teasing heel turns for BOTH of them, then that's pretty brilliant. Dare I give the WWE that much credit???

The GTS to Morrison made it pretty clear in my eyes that they're trying to solely make Punk the heel here but I agree, Hardy's had quite a few more heelish tendencies than Punk in this feud.

^ If they go all Lex Luger is going to join the Million Dollar Corpora--OH MY GOD IT WAS TATANKA ALL ALONG! storyline with Punk and Hardy, I'll be stunned and pleased.

It's a tough call; both sell loadsa merch to the knucklehead brigade, so it's risky to turn either. Both get the 'squealy Tiger-Beat girl' pop to a degree (or perhaps internet marks have falsetto cheers for Punk) - Punk, perhaps, stands to gain the most from it.

Cena was booked expertly at ECW ONS 2006. And, unlike the once-every-three-weeks-empty shitshows the WWE charges for, people ORDERED One Night Stand.

It's not just "internet" fans. I was watching the Bash with 3 of my friends. Two of them don't even watch wrestling and the other guy watches casually. They all said the same thing I did about the PPV. We were slamming back pizza during the HHH/Orton match and my friend turned to me and said "dude this is boring, why are we watching this?" There are never really any *great* matches on PPV anymore unless it's Wrestlemania.

I agree with you on the DQ/clean finish deal- although Legacy's interference made perfect sense- but I still really enjoyed the PPV. The only not-so-good matches were Cena/Miz (may have been the ending that left me with a bad taste) and Ziggler/Khali, and even in that last one, at least Ziggy got the win and is now apparently done feuding with Khali.

As for ordering PPVs vs. streams: My friends and I used to have 6-10 people over for every WWE PPV until I moved away from Illinois 2 and 1/2 years ago. We'd all split the cost of the show, pizza, and beer. But out here, I have few wrestling fan friends, and I cannot justify paying between $35-50 for a show that I can watch online, and that will be on DVD for $15-20 within a month. It's not a quality issue with me, but rather a financial one.

Hope you have fun at Raw though, Rock. TV tapings are hit and miss regarding how much actual wrestling you get to see, but they're pretty much always fun.

As for announced happenings:

The following has been announced for tonight's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw:

- Vince kicks off Raw and promises a special guest host.
- Unified Tag Team Title Match: Edge and Chris Jericho © vs. Carlito and Primo Colon

I wish they would let Orton win clean for once. All these run-ins by Legacy make him look weak. Hopefully they are setting up a Dibiase turn after last nights events.

With Edge winning the tag belts with Jericho last night, I'm assuming that will take him out of the hunt for the championship for a little while which is good. Its getting tiring of seeing the same guy(s) battling for the same belt for months on end. I actually like the teaming up of Edge/Jericho. i hope they get a long run with the tag team belts.

The Jericho/Mysterio match was top notch. I really hate to see this feud end.

Wonder if the special guest is one of the ppl Trump talked about? Wonder if they had a few ppl lined up to come on before they decided to scrap the Trump RAW gimmick.

I was really hoping Miz would win last night to get some sort of payoff on his backstage segments with Maryse. I could see their gimmicks meshing well and making people hate them even more.

WWE is short-sighted.

A trade???

....Umm....didn't we just have a draft????

And why do I feel its going to be Cena/HHH at the end of the night???

nah, because MVP got too much offense to start out this match...so it's over. HHH is going to win

*HOW BELIEVABLE IS IT THAT HHH'S FINISHER TAKES AWAY ALL....POWER....ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?
Pretty lame that HHH can win after getting beaten nearly the entire match then just pull out one pedigree for the win.
That happens nearly every time he wins. They need to put a big "S' on his chest cuz he's like....all superhuman & stuff.

why would they let John Cena bury the Miz like that on the mic? i mean, i agree with everything he said ( the real world is canceled, you're not a reality show has-been youre a wwe never was ) but that has to be bad for the Miz's character.
