They are REALLY selling Miz right now....but of course, Cena busts out his 5 moves...

All they did was have a repeat of the match from last night with almost the exact same formula.

All this match did was bury Miz even more after last night.
Forgot it was on tonight, can somebody give me a recap on what has happened so far?
Here's a quick recap:

Vince comes out, yaps about Batista being GM for this week and alluding to a 15 man trade Trump made

Batista makes a tourney to meet Orton at the next PPV and says Orton gotta face 3 of the 5 new "superstars" coming to raw tonight

HHH squashes MVP
Edge/Jericho beat the Colons
Cena beats Miz

There you go

Batistia is the guest GM tonight.
Orton vs 3 "new" RAW stars
Triple H beat MVP in a "Night Of Champions" qualifier match
Cena beat Miz in a "Night Of Champions" qualifier match
(So Cena vs Triple H next week to determine who faces Orton at "Night Of Champions")
Edge/Y2J beat The Colons

lol guess i didn't miss anything (thanks for the recap)

also Cena/HHH, Raw's main event is dead

Big Show getting frustrated at the double count out and just walking to the back was weird. This night has been terrible. I'm hoping there's a surprise return in the three that Randy Orton faces.. perhaps the Undertaker or Shawn Michaels.. but Shawn is on Raw.. so.. who knows.

//edit: Ted DiBiase next week.. that should be interesting. It's a shame it's being taped tonight so there won't be any surprises.. there's not going to be a way to avoid spoilers for a week.

Damn Sydal got traded to RAW. I was hoping he'd stay on ECW for awhile longer since he actually had a chance to shine there and win the belt.

God ECW got raped.

WWE spends weeks and probably a solid hour or more of air time building the Miz up to have a shot at being someone and piss it all away in ten minutes of matches. Of course, the next time a big name gets injured, they'll look at their roster and complain that no one is stepping up when "given the ball". Fascinating.

..wow. I can't believe Orton had a clean loss

also, that forced pop may have been the only time the fans have ever cheered for Henry

can someone please gif mark henry wagging his finger????

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I literally can't believe that we just watched Mark Henry standing triumphant at the end of Raw. Bizarre.

For what it's worth, though... I kind of like Henry. He's a horrible wrestler, but a great monster. I won't get into the fact that it should be Show's role, but hey.

I'm damn curious to see, since they raped ECW, who is getting SENT to ECW.

After tonight, probably Miz and Show.

Mark Henry was hilarious to watch.

I'll also say that The Miz put on a genuinely GOOD match with Cena. The thing that took away from it was Cena's superman comeback. I'm actually looking forward to The Miz next week. The thing that made the match for me was the look on Miz's face that just spoke of his desire to win. I think he'll cost Cena the match next week and finally pull out a quick victory somehow.

Here's the "trades", unless they somehow don't stick:

Moving to the Raw roster:
Gail Kim
Alicia Fox
Jack Swagger
Evan Bourne
Mark Henry

Moving to the SmackDown roster:
Matt Hardy
Finlay
The Hart Dynasty - David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd & Natalya

Moving to the ECW roster:
Shelton Benjamin
Goldust
William Regal
Brie & Nikki Bella

Poor Shelton - buried once again/still.

My guess for who is going to ECW - Regal, Big Show, R Truth, Kendrick, then Noble or Yang

To Smackdown - Christian, Kelly Kelly, Hart Dynasty

and the other 2 to Raw - Maria, Edge (to go along with the promo from tonight, but he can appear wherever necessary anyway b/c of his tag titles)

*EDIT*

wow, i was typing that up while trying to remember who was where. Was right on a few of them at least :D

After getting used to Raw usually being worse than any other WWE show, I was pleasantly surprised by how great the first hour of the show was. The opening with Vince was great and moved a lot of stuff along. The "guest host" thing is a change from the usual GM position, and it gives guys a chance to remain on-air characters briefly if they're injured or for quick nostalgia pops, like the Million Dollar Man next week. The announcement of the mini-draft sure did come out of nowhere and felt tacked on. However, it does make the rosters a little more intriguing. The Night of Champions tourney feels half-assed, but did allow MVP to shine against HHH, and man did they ever do an excellent job of undoing the damage of last night's booking with Miz vs. Cena.

The video package for tonight's match was incredible - easily the best one they've done for the feud, and one of the best since 'Mania. It did an excellent job of highlighting all of the Miz's positives, and not showing him getting beaten last night was a great move. Instead of showing him tapping like a baby, he was shown beating the shit out of Cena with a chair and making great points against him on the mic. Miz also dominated the match, and the commentators made note of how much more serious he was tonight than he ever was before, and that he was now ready to be a threat to anyone. Cena won, but just barely - Miz COULD have won this thing, which wasn't the case last night. This is definitely the match they should have had at the PPV.

The Unified Tag Title match was a blast, with everyone "on", and having Jericho and Edge hold the belts is definitely a major upgrade from the Colons. The fans actually care about these guys, and having them wrestle on all the shows is a great move for the match quality of Raw, and possibly the star quality of ECW. The finish didn't quite make sense at first, but the replay made it clear thanks to some alternate angles.

The divas match wasn't too memorable aside from the four way choke spot, and Maryse being awesome on commentary, then doing her "talk to the hand" and "shut up" bits. Twice. God she rules. Kofi-Show was kind of boring, but I liked that they didn't have Kofi just get killed by him, which is what I expected. I would have preferred a count out finish, as Show would've been pissed by that as well just like this double count out, but at least Kofi would've gotten some kind of win over the big man.

The gauntlet match was an excellent attempt to either make stars in Bourne and Swagger, or make a new major face act in Henry. Bourne was given the ball against Orton, and was just one move away from winning before the top rope RKO, which looked excellent. And the Swagger deal was perfect - he respected Orton, so he gave him a pass, no doubt in exchange for something in the future. Swagger was put over huge on commentary, including mentioning how great his one prior one match was. It would make sense that a heel would help another one, and I liked this a lot. It segued perfectly into Henry saying the same basic thing, but in a mocking tone, and then also stepping out, only to stop the ref at 5 and start to whoop some ass. The crowd went absolutely note for this, and it just built and built - he actually got the win, and in one night went from "a guy" in the worthless ECW Scramble to one of the most over face acts on Raw. Definitely an excellent star-making show, and the best Raw in a while.

Vince - I can give you your money back...but I’m not going to! Donald Trump EVEN INITIATED A 15-MAN TRADE BETWEEN RAW, SMACKDOWN, AND ECW! HE EVEN GOT RID OF GMS! Now it’ll have guest hosts each week! THEY’LL HAVE THE SAME POWER AS GMS! THE FIRST…THE ANIMAL, DAVE BATISTA!
Batista - OOHHH!! YESSSS! IT FEELS GOOD!! I’M EXCITED! WE’RE GONNA HAVE SOME FUN TONIGHT!!
Batista - You don’t need to worry about me making you defend your title, but you do have to worry about the 5 trades to Raw that Trump made. But I’m only gonna make you face 3 of them, since you love 3 on 1 fights! It’s about time for you to be on the receiving end of one!
Cole - It’s JOHN CENA VS. THE MIZ TONIGHT! AND THEN IT’S MVP VS. HHH! IN THE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS TOURNAMENT!
Cole - HHH’s leg is bandaged - part of a HELL WEEK for the Game!
Lawler - No matter who HHH faces, whether it’s Cena or THE MIZ, I don’t think he can win tonight!
Cole - I understand that he’ll face the winner next week!
Jericho - The only reason I’m still here…
Edge - …Is because I approached you and said we needed to form a united front, so we can own the WWE. On our own, we weren’t getting the job done due to inept management! We are the unified WWE Tag Team Champions, which means we can appear on any show, unfortunately, including this one! We are winners, where you are all losers!
Lawler - When Cena first entered WWE, he was a lot like the Miz. He talked smack and got in peoples’ faces!
Cole - Yeah, but he backed it up. Miz is unproven.
Lawler - He is a former Tag Team Champion…
Lawler - The Miz is…DOMINATING John Cena?!
Lawler - This is a different Miz.
Cole - How could there be this change in 24 hours?
Lawler - Well, he held his own, but maybe he gained the confidence that put him in this match.
Cole - Cena kicks out! (fans boo)
Cole - Running kick by Miz!
Maryse - Kelly’s really pretty, but not as pretty as me.
Maryse - Beth is good, but I’m the divas champion - I must be better!
Lawler - Don’t you speak French, Michael?
Cole - No, I need Rosetta Stone.
Lawler - Rosetta’s not in this match - it’s Rosa.
Maryse - Michelle was in tears last night. I’m not sure why, she didn’t beat me.
(after getting himself counted out)Swagger - Randy, I’ve always liked you and respected you, and on my first night on Raw, I wanted to leave a lasting impression. (he then shakes his hand)
Henry - Randy, I’ve always liked ya myself, and I have a lot of respect for ya, and just like Swagga, I came here on my first night on Raw, and it’s gonna be a good one!
Lawler - Big smile on the face of new Raw…roster…man…Mark Henry!

I don't see how Shelton going to ECW constitutes being buried. Were his endless series of matches with R Truth and bi-annual matches against main eventers considered a push?

I'm more concerned that they threw Matt Hardy back on the same show as Jeff so soon.
was it just me, or did it seem that bourne got almost no reaction when he came out?
Well, with an even smaller audience then Smackdown will ever have, his visibility in general will shrink. Now, put him in line for an ECW title run, and we'll talk about it.

Was Bourne (as Matt Sydal) ever in ROH? I remember him in that ridiculous thing on MTV (including the great Jack Evans), but never caught him elsewhere. Then again, I've only recently seen ROH on their weekly show/live events.

Christian, Shelton, and Regal sound like a pretty good grouping for the ECW main event. Although, knowing WWE, we're in line for 6 months of Tommy Dreamer vs. Vladimir Kozlov.

The Hart Dynasty moving to Smackdown is a good thing as well. Makes them at least visible in the tiny tag team scene.

Was a former ROH Tag Champion and a former Dragon Gate Open the Brave Gate title.

If those 'trades' pan out, I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Raw, as much as we joked, didn't really rape anything. Bourne and Henry weren't doing much on ECW anyway, and I'm hoping this is a sign that Swagger is getting a 'Miz push'.

In terms of Smackdown, thank god that they sent the Hart Dynasty there. I'm actually excited about that. Finlay is a good utility guy. I have no idea what's up with Hardy, though. This feels like they gave up on him being on Raw.

ECW actually made out pretty well. I echo the sentiment that a Christian/Benjamin/Regal main event scene is worth watching. I'd also be for Goldust taking part, provided they drop the damn midget (which, I guess, poses the question of... does Hornswoggle count as someone who can even BE traded?).

Like I said, for something that initially horrified me when it was announced, I'm actually amazed at how well this went. I'm also damn amazed that they actually exercised some restraint and DIDN'T switch any main-eventers.

Raw spoilers for next week:

* Ted DiBiase Sr. came out as the special RAW guest host as a heel but got a nice pop. Priceless came out with him and he cut a promo. He announced Chris Jericho and Edge vs. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes for the Unified Tag Team Titles at Night of Champions and Cody vs. Mark Henry and Ted vs. Randy Orton for tonight.

* Edge and Chris Jericho defeated The Colons in a non-title match. Jericho took advantage of the ref distracted, hit the Codebreaker and Edge speared Carlito for the win. Afterwards, Carlito turned on Primo and beat him up pretty bad.

* Gail Kim and Mickie James defeated Maryse and Alicia Fox. Gail got the pin on Maryse.

* Cody Rhodes tried to talk Ted DiBiase Sr. out of his match with Mark Henry but couldn't. Ted talked about how Dusty Rhodes was in the WWE HOF and he wasn't but he was better than Dusty.

* Mark Henry beat Cody Rhodes via count out. Henry dominated Rhodes and hit his World's Strongest slam and Cody walked out. Mediocre reaction for Henry.

* Randy Orrton defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. in a good offense match. Orton hit the RKO and pinned Ted clean.

* MVP hosted the VIP Lounge with special guest Jack Swagger. Swagger made references to MVP being in prison. MVP defended it. MVP was ready to fight but Swagger said he doesn't fight criminals.

* Evan Bourne defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Bourne hit the Shooting Star Press to win and afterwards, Big Show came out to destroy them both.

* John Cena cut a promo backstage and everyone hated it.

* Ted DiBiase Sr. and Ted Jr. argued backstage and it ended with Ted Jr. slapping his dad.

* Triple H and John Cena fought to a No Contest in the main event. The match was a good one with most of the people rooting for Triple H. Rhodes and DiBiase ran down and attacked to cause the no contest. Orton came out and said since nobody won, he doesn't have to defend his belt against either of them. Ted DiBiase Sr. came out and announced John Cena vs. Triple H vs. Randy Orton in a 3way for the WWE title at Night of Champions.

After the match, John Cena cut a promo in the ring but got boo'd mostly. He called out LEgacy and they all got in th ering. Orton was face to face with Cena and HHH when Rhodes/DiBiase bailed on him. Cena hit the FU and Triple H Pedigree'd Orton. Ted Sr. came back out and slapped Ted in the face.

Well just came back from Raw and had an absolute blast. The first Raw was alright (tonight's episode) but next week's Raw was much more interesting storyline wise.

Here's the spoilers for next week's Raw if you wanna know what happened:

-Ted Dibiase is the guest host for the night. Announces 2 matches for the night: Rhodes vs Henry and Dibiase vs Orton

-Edge/Jericho defeat Colons again, after the match Carlito had enough and beat the crap out of Primo and threw him across the announcer's table

-Mickie/Gail Kim defeat Maryse/Alicia Fox

-Henry defeats Rhodes via countout (Rhodes runs away into the back after getting hit with the World's Strongest Slam)

-Orton defeats Dibiase

-Dibiase Jr. confronts Dibiase Sr. and gives him a hard slap across the face (got one of the loudest pops of the night)

-Bourne defeats Kofi in nontitle match. Big Show comes out and demolishes both of them.

-HHH/Cena ends in a double DQ after Legacy interferes, Dibiase Sr. comes out and makes the main event at Night of Champions a triple threat between Orton/HHH/Cena.

It's late right now but I'll post some more stuff that occured/pics I took tomorrow.

Why the fuck does
every time Cena loses a number one contender match, he's always added to the match anyways after the fact for no damn reason
?

Can either of you post non-spoiler match listings? Even though what Scorch said is probably true, I'm still going to try my best to avoid spoilers. However, I do like to know the match lineup ahead of time.

I really enjoyed Raw tonight; just finished watching. A few random musings:

What is Vince McMahon supposed to be? He was a total babyface until the Trump deal, and now he's acting heelish yet he still has it out for Orton.

Triple H vs. MVP had potential, but it was too short and the finish came pretty much out of nowhere. Yes, HHH reversed MVP's finisher into a pedigree, but it was just too soon.

While they are above the tag titles, having Jericho and Edge, my 2 favorites, appear on every show is a good thing. The match against the Colons was nothing special, though.

As for Miz vs. Cena, Miz looked better than he did at The Bash. But none of this will mean anything if he doesn't beat Cena. They could have easily given Miz a cheap win with Show interference sometime in the last month, or at least let Miz eliminate Cena from that battle royal. Mike ha been Miz-used.

Does anyone else think John Cena looks more like John Deere with that green and yellow get-up?

The women's match was okay. There were a couple botches, but they redeemed themselves with the 4 person headlock spot. Plus any time I get to see Maryse, Kelly, and Rosa (not that Beth or Mickie are at all bad) together, I get happy in the pants.

I don't like the idea of a Kofi/Show feud, but I know they want to get as many big names onto the NOC card as possible. Show just walking away was weird.

The main event was.. interesting. I think Bourne should have stayed on ECW and won the title eventually. He could have formed a rhyming tag team with the returning Kevin Thorn. Their first AND last names rhyme? Yeah... no.

I was intrigued by Swagger's actions, and I actually found myself enjoying the (seemingly) babyface Mark Henry.

As for the trade, the idea sounded spectacular, but the full results left something to be desired.

Moving to the Raw roster:
Gail Kim- Going nowhere on SD since her push stalled. Good move.
Alicia Fox- Love looking at her, but don't care either way.
Jack Swagger- He needed to be moved. He's done all he could in ECW.
Evan Bourne- Like I said, he should have become ECW champion. But now we can maybe see Bourne vs. Kofi. *drool*
Mark Henry- See Swagger, Jack.

Moving to the SmackDown roster:
Matt Hardy- Dude's switched brands 3 times in 4 months. Whay was he moved to Raw anyway?
Finlay- Another guy who needed a change of scenery, since he wasn't getting the ECW belt.
The Hart Dynasty (David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd & Natalya)- I like this move a lot. Natalya can challenge for the women's title, and DH and Kidd will have actual tag teams to wrestle. Well, a couple, anyway.

Moving to the ECW roster:
Shelton Benjamin- Charlie Haas is getting fired. Shelton for ECW Champion with Tony Atlas as his manager, PLEASE!
Goldust- Why? Is Hornswoggle getting fired now? I finally started to like the little bastard and his team with Goldust and (possibly) Santino.
William Regal- Maybe a title opportunity in his future?
Brie & Nikki Bella- Moved to Raw; did nothing. They will have even less to do on ECW.

Overall, Smackdown gained the most, followed by Raw. Raw got the main event heels it needed. ECW gave up it's 2 top heels, but now maybe Vladimir Kozlov can get pushed again, along with my homie Zack Ryder (Woo woo woo!) and maybe Ezekiel. I'd also love to see Shelton and Regal as title contenders. Smackdown gave up Shelton and Gail, and not much else. Interesting how Raw gave up 5 guys, ECW gave up six, but Smackdown, only 4. And Christian is still on ECW...

Thus concludes my longest wrestling post ever at this forum.

Oh, one more thing before I go to sleep. This is next week's match on Superstars.

Hornswoggle vs Chavo, except Chavo has to wrestle on his knees for the entire match under orders by Vince.

I like everyone else in the arena had a wtf look on our faces.
