Mitsuharu Misawa memorial wrestling topic (1962-2009)
Before anyone shits on that finish:

I actually like it.

It'll be the most fresh Angle and Joe have been in a while.
I did too. I thought AJ was going to win and it's been a long time since there's been a good swerve like that.

So why did Joe kill 3/5 of the Mafia leading up to this show? That's a hell of a price for them to pay for this end result. And now Joe goes back to being Kevin Nash's bitch... Well, the whole group's bitch.

Haven't you noticed that Angle has been distant from the Main Event Mafia..?
Way to miss the point and avoid addressing why you reacted in an overly dramatic and irrationally hostile manner. I've never had a problem with you, Myke, but you're acting like a whiny cunt.
Let's malign women, now, too. Classy. Any other groups you want to offend this evening?

Your rationalization is pathetic. It's akin to saying you know three black dudes, so it's cool if you say "$$$$er" and it doesn't offend anyone ever. Take that too-cool-for-school shit to the OTT, where you can join a bunch of other dudes using offensive language to show how cool they are when a simple 'that was fucking stupid' would suffice.

Maybe you can call me "retarded" next and complete the trifecta.

Looks like ultimately AJ will be the super face of the company again.
Best PPV I've seen this year. TNA has definitely stepped it up.
No doubt. The show was great. TNA keeps improving every week.

Take it to PM's, you two.

MEM Wolfpack, anyone?
MEM Wolfpack, anyone?
I hope not.

...

:puke:

You can already tell that this stable - which hopefully won't be like the Wolfpac - will include the beard-stubble'd Angle, Joe and probably Eric Young.

Seems pretty fresh, to me.
Best PPV I've seen this year. TNA has definitely stepped it up.
I totally agree with you. It was an exciting show to watch and really reminded me of how much I used to really enjoy TNA eons ago. Fun day for TV for me here between all the fun soccer action (both Confed cup games along with the two Super Liga games) and this TNA PPV. God damn both the US and Brazil pulled off a freakin miracle today that's all I gotta say. Especially for Brazil to beat Italy just wow.

So now using the word cunt, directed at a man, somehow equates to me "maligning women"? That's way out there, man, really.

As for the OTT, I dislike the people who act that way just as much as you do.

The fact of the matter is that you are making a huge deal out of something that's pretty insignificant, and you still haven't even bothered to explain why you're offended, just how I'm supposedly insulting women and homosexuals. Unless you're a lesbian and I somehow missed the announcement, I guess.

Like I said, I have several gay/b friends who aren't offended by such things in the slightest, so you, a supposedly straight man, reacting so angrily just screams, "Give me attention!"

Now please stop.

They need another stable. What ever happened to the stable going against MEM? Did they completely scrap that?

"Frontline"? Yeah. They scrapped that...

I missed iMPACT! for a month or two, tuned it, and it was just gone.

I thought it was pretty hokey, so I'm glad they dropped it.

MEM wolfpack, ironic being as sting showed up in the red and black tonight, i marked out a bit for that, if he had done the red facepaint i wouldve giggled like a 12 yr old school girl.

really good ppv, came in about half way through the x division match, the sliced bread on the apron was fucking bad ass.

wonder if things fell through with taz so they had to go this direction instead

They stopped using the name and wearing the shirts a while back, but then over the last couple months, Don West had been using the term, "Front Line". The group hasn't really existed since early this year, though.

Same here. I just got back into it a few weeks ago. Would be cool to see a stable vs. stable thing going on.

So you want to have the last word and then tell *me* to stop?

Pshaw.

Here's all that sums up how I feel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWS0GVOQPs0

All you could have said was a good old "what the fuck?" and it would have been kosher.

I'm absolutely stunned - even though it is a common occurrence on the internet - of people who get offended because someone was offended as a consequence that something offensive was said. You use insulting language like a child, and then act incredulous that it's regarded as such? Like I said - stunning.

THAT is the last I've said in this thread. If you still want to act shocked that something dickish you said was reacted to as if it were dickish, feel free to PM me.

As for Angle being the adviser, that makes no fucking sense. What happened to the fabled mantits bond b/w Joe and Tax? That woulda made for a great t-shirt.

The next couple of weeks has great potential.

Was Taz supposed to be the advisor? I don't read the 'sheets so I didn't know. I like the sound of that.

I don't care about the last word. I'd be more than happy to discuss things in a civilized manner. But you've shot down that request multiple times, and still, despite em constantly mentioning it in every post, refuse to explain why it offends you so personally and so deeply. That just proves that you're just being an asshole for the sake of doing it. You do have a history of such behavior.

But since I don't need another war of words with a self-righteous prick who does nothing but talk shit without having any good reason, I'm just going to make you the first member of my ignore list and save myself the hassle and loss of brain cells, and spare everyone else in the thread from it being fucked up any further.

I'm sorry that the rest of you had to be bothered with this.

The Internet went nuts with rumors that Taz was Joe's adviser... And TNA played into that for ultimate-swervage.

From what I remember Tazz being the advisor was the rumor going around. Should be interesting to see how TNA plays this swerve out on Impact.

Oh, and myke, matt, etc... please take this war you got going on elsewhere.

EDIT: Whatever - edited. Sorry - I won't be offended when people say offensive things in the future. I'll be a good, desensitized, compliant CAG.

Myke, your delivery in your life lesson, in regards to what Matt Young said, makes me question if you were trying to teach him a lesson in morality, or trying to put your morals over for the audience.

I'm not sticking it to you -- Just, being hostile / condescending when preaching doesn't work so well.

And I asked about the Nigeria thing, before I edited it out, because I had a teacher who did the same thing, who got in trouble after 4 or 5 black kids stormed out of the room before he could explain himself.

While Matt used the term loosely - and oddly - he didn't use it derogatorily.

You walked about before he could explain himself.

You could have done a better job discussing it with him, as opposed to making him fight fire with fire. Both of you.
Your decision to use 'gay' in a way that is both grammatically incorrect and chock full of fucking asshole.
Stop being so gay.

I also gotta give props to the ladies tonight. Two solid matches and a lot of crazy bumps.

Was I the only one who had no idea what the deal was behind the King of the Mountain match? TNA should have thrown the rules on the screen before it started.

You mean you don't understand the simple concept of a reverse ladder match? 5 men compete until one can climb the ladder and hang the belt. That man is the champion. But none of the participants can hang the belt and win the match until they become eligible by pinning or tapping one of their opponents. Then the guy who took the fall spend 2 minutes in the penalty box.

See? It's so simple, even a caveman could understand it.

... Yeah, I don't even know if some of the guys in the company understand it.

EDIT: JJSP- http://www.tnawrestling.com/content/view/1562/84/

Tickets for BFG on sale August 1st. My birthday's 2 days before that. I know what I'm asking for.

Pretty good PPV from what I saw, still need to see the first half of it. Liked the Joe swerve, wonder if they're going to branch Angle off from the MEM now. Angle/Joe/Matt Morgan i'd guess?

Also, I just got Legends of Wrestlemania, i'm enjoying it so far. The Relive mode has been fun to play through although I wish there were some more matches there. The way the Royal Rumble works is probably the best in game version of it ever. The game is also very generous with the trophies, giving out a gold for winning the Rumble, even if you came in at number 30 :D. Definitely worth the 20 something I paid for it at Gamestops b2g1.

I'm assuming BFG tickets will be relatively cheap, so I'm looking forward to the PPV. There's already a pretty large SoCal crowd planning on going, and it's more or less confirmed that PWG is running the Friday before (PWG Friday, TNA FanFest Saturday, BFG Sunday) to make it a solid wrestling weekend.

Buy the tickets at the Bren Events box office and dodge the Ticketmaster fees. The Bren doesn't charge fees for events held on campus provided they're purchased at the arena, or you can pay an extra $1.50 per ticket and get them over the phone.

Well, everybody loved the PPV which isn't a surprise since this the Wrestlemania of TNA. Can we please have listing of who won since I wasn't able to watch last night.

The Joe and Angle swerve is awessome since Kurt has really been keeping his distance fro the rest of the MEM since his lost to Sting at Sacrifice. We will see where this goes.

Actually Bound For Glory is the Wrestlemania of TNA. Slammiversary is more of the Summerslam for the company.

Demo and Myke are correct.

I'm wondering how they will keep Raven & Shane Douglas in the fold after losing their matches?

From some info I was able to read you all are correct about BFG so Demo was correct. I don't know much about TNA history so for me to be corrected is to learn something new I didn't know.

It shows, to me, some branding confusion on TNA's part. The name "Bound for Glory" just sounds like another tired name for an event, and doesn't make it stand out when compared with...umm...Turning Point...and Lockdown...and the...others.

I know they try to push it as the biggest PPV of the year, but nothing's ever stood out to me like that.

Slammiversary does - since its name connotes the idea of the company's anniversary, it seems like a more significant event than the others. That was the last PPV I bought, actually - Slammiversary 2007.

On an unrelated note, perhaps only guyver would agree with me, but I think I'd like to see "Alpha Male" Monty Brown back in TNA. Is he wrestling anywhere currently?

The last time I saw Monty Brown, he was in ECW. But I haven't watched it in months(probably atleast 6).

Enjoyed the Daphne/Raven/Abyss/TW match. Like others, I think the women went over well. Would have rather seen Raven/Daphne win to build some on the storyline.

I thought the Joe/Kurt swerve was cool. I thought that maybe Sting was the advisor to Joe though. Every time Joe talked about the MEM he seemed to mention everyone but Sting. I figured they'd use this to end the MEM storyline w/ Sting rattling on about the other members going against what the MEM stood for. With Nash, Booker & Steiner coming out at the end, I'm assuming this was all a plan w/ the other members being involved. Guess we'll find out Thurs.

Last but not least, does Shane Douglas have something on Jeff Jarrett? I hpoe his run ends real soon. Not caring for this story one bit.
Bound For Glory debuted in '05 - the company had 3 hour PPVs before that which weren't part of the weekly PPVs, which ended at some point in '04.
September 8th 2004 to be exact. The final main event was Jeff Jarrett vs Jeff Hardy for the NWA World Title. Irony that they repeated that same main event at Bound For Glory in October.
On an unrelated note, perhaps only guyver would agree with me, but I think I'd like to see "Alpha Male" Monty Brown back in TNA. Is he wrestling anywhere currently?
Last thing I heard is that he is more than likely to return to the WWE.
I think Bound For Glory was their first 3-hour PPV show that was separate from the weekly PPV series.
Yes it was. Actually back in 2003 the original plan was for Bound For Glory to be a 3 hour PPV that was going to feature Hogan's in ring debut with the company. Obviously that didn't happen.

After Slammiversary went off the air, The Main Event Mafia came down to the ring. Kevin Nash hugged Samoa Joe, who celebrated Kurt Angle's TNA title win with the rest of them.

Ehh...

Did they raise the price of the PWI, The Wrestler, etc mags? When I used to buy them regularly a few years ago they were 5 bucks a piece. I checked them out at Borders and they're 10 bucks each now. How long has it been like this?

Yes, Kenta/Strong was really good. And Victory Road was the first 3 hour PPV, but it was held in the fall, I believe, rather than July as it is now.

That's right. I completely forgot that TNA's first 3 hour PPV was in fact Victory Road. Thanks for reminding me Matt.
